don't know if i should even -- he about thes so holy. i mean, he made love to every girl in every city in america, and he had aids, and when he had those aids, i went to my synagogue and i prayed for him. i hoped he could live and be well. i didn't criticize him. i could have. is he an example for children? you know? because he has money, he's able to treat himself. but magic johnson is irrelevant in this thing. he didn't do anything harmful to anybody, and i respected him and i admire everything that he does, you know? i'd like to help even more if he would offer me an opportunity to help. i like to help minorities. he loved me -- into waiting a week. >> he told you, not to say anything? >> don't do anything. i know the girl. don't do anything.

i'll help you. i'm waiting. i'm waiting, and i'm waiting. >> you're saying magic johnson called you up? or you called him up? >> i don't know his phone number. >> he called you up? >> i don't call anybody. i'm loyal to you. >> he called you up when the tape came out, and he told you not to say anything? >> yes. >> why did he say, don't say anything? >> he just said, wait. be patient. i'll tell you. we'll work it out. >> why do you think he said that? >> i think he wanted me to just do nothing so he could buy the team. he thought maybe the whole thing would be resolved in two weeks. well -- what has he done? can you tell me? big magic johnson. what has he done? >> well, he's a business person. >> he's got aids. did he do anything business? i'd like -- did he help anybody in south l.a.? >> i think he has hiv. he doesn't actually have full blown aids. >> what kind of a guy goes to every city, has sex with every girl, then he catches hiv. is that someone we want to

respect and tell our kids about? i think he should be ashamed of himself. i think he should go into the background. but what does he do for the black people? he doesn't do anything. you call up and say -- >> he's opened a lot of businesses, in inner city neighborhoods. >> the jewish people have a company, and it's for people who want to borrow money and no interest. they want to give him a fishing pole. we want to help people. if they don't have the money, we'll loan it to you. you don't have interest, one day you'll pay us back. >> sir -- >> i'm just telling you. he does nothing. it's all talk. >> so you're saying that african-americans don't contribute to african-american communities as much as jewish people do -- >> there's no african america. -- never mind. i'm sorry. you know, they all want to play golf with me. everybody wants to be with me.

>> an fii, mr. sterling, there are 150 students in college because of magic johnson's organization, he's opened theaters in underserved areas and invested billions, that would be billions with a "b" in urban redevelopment. sterling's bashing was so bad last night the nba felt the need to appaologize to magic johnson. the commissioner released a statement, i just read a transcript of donald sterling's interview with anderson cooper. while magic johnson doesn't need me to i feel compelled on behalf of the nba family to apologize to him, that he continues to be dragged into this situation and be degraded by such a malicious and personal attack. the nba board of governors is continuing with its process to remove mr. sterling as expeditiously as possible. magic johnson himself tweeted last night, "i'd ratheren talking about these great nba playoffs than donald sterling's interview." well, actually, you can hear

magic johnson tonight in a cnn exclusive. anderson cooper will interview johnson tonight at 8:00 p.m. eastern. oh, but we have to talk more about sterling's interview. don't we? joining me now, cnn's stephanie elam and a clipper ticket holder and commentator and legal analyst mel robins. mel, why does he keep talking? >> you know, this goes to show you that money can't buy you class, common sense or happiness, for crying out loud. it is kind of stunning that you would respond, carol, to allegations about racism with more racism, with race baiting. and as i watched this, i couldn't help but think, holy cow. how does a guy with this much money, these many lawyers, who's so aggressive about protecting television and basically meander on and on and on and dig himself such a huge hole? how do the people around him let him get eway with this?

i guess the million dollar question is, they've been doing it all for years, all because of money. >> so i've been trying to figure out what big beef that sterling has with magic johnson. number one, i think he's jealous of magic johnson, and number two, he made it clear that he thinks that magic johnson is trying to buy the clippers. but -- >> right. >> i'm just stymied by it, really. >> carol, before i answer that question, if there had been a lie detector machine in that room where he did the interview with anderson cooper, it would have blown up the room. this guy's a pathological liar. he's had an issue with magic johnson dating back to when magic was the head of showtime. web tha w remember that, with the lakers? clippers were the doormat of the town. you couldn't sell 5,000 seats to go see a clipper gaime. then magic johnson bake part owner of the lakers. the stepchild to the lakers. then magic johnson gets into the

real estate business, competing with donald sterling in the real estate business. so they've had an ongoing competition for probably 20 or 30 years in los angeles. but i will tell you firsthand that i met magic johnson about a decade ago, before i became a criminal defense lawyer, before i became a civil rights lawyer at starbucks in seattle. he was at the corporate office there, because he's the only person that can franchise starbuck, and he gave a speech to all of those employees in that building, and inspired everybody. he's an exceptional man. >> he is an exceptional man, stephanie. what are the people of los angeles, what do they think about this interview? >> people are defuddledbefuddle. no doubt about it, magic is loved in this town. while he's poking holes at what he's done, magic has actually done a lot. i used to live in new york and i live here. both cities, magic had started

enterprises in places where people were afraid to start businesses and show that this is where money can be made. he had starbucks in south l.a. in harlem, same with the movie theaters. it is basis ar. people love magic. at the last game at staples center, people were cheering him on, seen having a conversation with commissioner silver. people love magic and i saw people in the golden state series in oakland. people had signs that said, magic, please buy the clippers. >> and i want to talk about that. i want to talk about that right now. mel, start with you. so magic johnson says he'll never attend a clippers game, unless donald sterling is no longer the own but like he did, he kind of like, gave a charming little giggle when asked if he wanted to buy the clippers and will sit down with anderson cooper tonight. so i'm thinking, he probably does want to buy the clippers. >> well, there's no doubt that, i'm sure he and his partner, the guggenheim group will look at it and make a bid. it's too soon to tell.

magic's a smart guy, unlike donald sterling, and you won't see him say anything about it. if you really look at what donald sterling is saying, in the interview he was saying he spoke to magic johnson and claiming magic told him he ho help him through this controversy. what you saw happen is just sterling unravelled as he was kind of pontificating and going off on a tangent like, why do people love magic? why don't they love me? it's almost as if he doesn't have a clue what's going on outside of the house that he lives in. he doesn't have a clue what's going on in the world. >> he looks -- so annoyed when he saw -- when anderson told him that magic was at the game. the look on his face was, he looked so annoyed that he was there. he seemed to have a very serious issue with magic being anywhere near the clippers or being that larger than life personality that he is. >> it's so strange. brian, i'll pose the last question of this segment to you. so if any of the nba owners were watching the interview, you

what they're going to require. that -- you've hit on the key point. for instance, they are replacing batteries in the flight data recorder, but they've given a number of years to get it done. so that we actually won't ea kplees switchover to 90-day batteries until 2018 or later. so that's the key. the key is not necessarily what they pass, but what's the time frame? it's got to be timely, and there are solutions that they can put in place that would be an interim nature that would help solve the problem. >> let's talk about those, david. you know what peter is talking about. my next question to you would be, so they install global tracking devices. does that mean another malaysia 370 would never happen again? >> well, that's the objective, certainly. and as peter mentioned, an interim measure is something they're looking at as well.

remember, 11,000 of these aircraft, 99.9% of every air commercial traveler in the airspace right now, is, has the equipment onboard. they have the system, the satcom system and are connected with inmarsat. the measure which inmarsat is saying will be free, to provide basic information to location is feasible to be implemented right away at minimal or no cost to the airlines. again, i'm impressed not only with i cao but with inmarsat fo stepping up to the plate. >> what about turning them off? >> for every action there's an unintented consequence. for instance, why you have the transponder with an off/on switch is when the plane is on the ground, at an airport, you know in a concentration of other planes, you really do want to turn off the transponder, because it clogs the system.

you've got 200 other planes there, but as david pointed out, inmarsat offered up a system. if we just have transoceanic what they call ecops planes reporting every two minutes, every minute, every three minutes, heading, location, altitude, that's the step that w we need to take right away. >> we'll keep you posted on the vote that takes place today in montreal. david soucie, david goelz, thanks, as always. and an explosion like a fireball on television, which started with a 911 call domestic dispute between a father and son. police arrive. something goes horribly wrong. the officer who came to the house responding to the call, shot and killed. in this video you can see the fire already burning. then a massive explosion wipes out the holme. the garage door comes flying out. the home completely engulfed.

i'm a good owner. i have a good team. there are people that want to buy my team, but because of the media, the media says the owners want me out doesn't mean they want me out. >> have you talked to any of the owners? >> i've talked to some of the owners. >> have any of them supported you? >> of course they support me and can't understand why they would say that. >> you're saying there are some owners of nba teams that want you to remain the owner of the clippers? >> i don't speak for the league or for the owners. they speak to themselves. >> have any owners told you that? >> i didn't ask them. i -- i embarrassed the league. i humiliated them. i don't know how -- why i did it. i mean, it's so terrible. and i -- >> so you don't believe, though, that the owners would vote to have you removed as owner? >> i don't think so. i don't think so. >> if they did, would you fight that in court? >> we're not there yet.

first? donald sterling says he's not a racist. do you think he understands what a racist is? >> i think he may be confused a bit about what that means. there's a couple of things here. a, he seemed to open up the door maybe he's not willing to put in the fight here. maybe he's willing to sell and walk away. one first thing -- he didn't totally say it but opened the door to it. the other issue, talks about the players, how they still love him. if one does it the rest follow. because you know, chris paul, blake griffith, deandrei, all jellyfish. what one does, the other one does. doc rivers says it was, reverse the jerseys and have those label, the logo not showing. so even in his way of saying they love him, he offended them. a very odd way to go. >> it is. brian, he said, do you think they'll just walk off the team? they have to work. but they actually will just walk off the team if he remains the owner, but he doesn't team to realize that.

>> well, carol, you're trying to talk rational with an irrational person. by the way, when he woke up this morning and looked in the mirror, his nose must have grown about a foot, because, again, he's lying through his teeth. the clipper players don't love him, and when he -- and i thought he was going to make a freudian slip last night. i thought he was going to say, my animals love me, instead of my players love me. because he treats clipper players like a zookeeper. donald sterling's barometer for being racially tolerant is that he provides food, clo clothes a paycheck to black players. that's not the same at what some in this country believe as being racially tolerant. he treeps the clippers players like they are animals in a zoo and he's feeding them and providing them with a paycheck and i find it offensive, and i'm privileged to sit in the same row as chris paul's family. the most lovely family you'll

ever come to meet, and i will tell you, the sentiment -- the sentiment with the players is that we need new ownership immediately. and by the way, mr. sterling, you don't own the clippers. the fans -- the fans of this city and the people across this country own the clippers. they are ours, not yours. >> well, mel it was interesting. anderson cooper kep pressing him. it nba owners vote to oust you, and deny you ownership to the team, will you fight legally? "kept evadin "kept evadine "kept evadin -- he kept evading question. it's pretty clear he's not going down without at fight. >> you can't have a rational conversation or a rational analysis with a guy who's completely off his rocker. the only thing i disagree with in brian's comments is, i actually don't think he's lying. i think in his heart of hearts he doesen believe that he's a racist. that he comes from such an old, old, old, old, old school, that just providing paychecks and a

job means that you're basically a saint, and so i don't think that he was lying. i think he's so delusional, and a guy, by the way, that has been able to buy his way to control everything. when the justice department comes after him, he settles for less than $3 million. he wants to move the team in violation of the nba constitution, he countersues the nba. this is probably the first time that donald sterling has lost control of what he wants. and i think he's spinning, because he actually doesn't understand why. his entire life he's been surrounded by people, and i also sit here and say, why, dear lord, do people like this get to make this much money? why does a scumbag that treatments people like this have so much cash? maybe so the rest of us see what racism truly looks like so that we have a national conversation, but i don't think he's lying. i think he's had a lifetime of controlling every situation by

st. louis, you can be fired for just being gay. a long ways to go. >> yes. some still have that policy. it's something we need to work on but a good sign he got drafted. it shows that at least some people are starting to get it. hopefully we should continue that trend. >> i hope so. jamal, the ramless to know drafting michael sam would create a distraction, because you know we mentioned the rest of the rookie 2014 class and you say, who? everybody's just concentrating on michael sam. i mean what will training camp look like and media day? it will be a circus. what would the conversation have been like leading up to sam's pick? >> i think with a coach like jeff fisher, a guy who's been in the nfl a long time. a long tenured coach, a tremendous amount of experience with different calibers of players in his years and he's from california as well. so his background, and the way that jeff fisher was raised, i think the rams are prepared for

this. i think the team who is going to select michael sam or the team considering selecting michael sam were going to be prepared for the process and what it was going to take to fine the sirs op first openly gay player. there's going to be a ton of conversation about getting it back to football. about michael sam the football player, michael sam the talent, and why is he here? why are we even talking about the first openly gay nfl player to get drafted? because he can play football. that's what the rams will take it back to. what he can bring on the football field defensively for their team. >> and this question, during his first news conference after becoming part of the st. louis rams. what should he say? address the fact he's gay, there was a kiss and some negative reaction. what should se say? >> say, i'm just here to play football. the story here is that michael sam is a good football player who, yeah, he happens to be gay, but the thing is, that this

attention will die down and in probably like a week, two weeks, because it's something that shouldn't be a story, but it has to be a story now, because it's never happened before. and then i think michael sam really is, you know, just focused on playing football. the nfl is a really hard sport. so he's going to need all attention for that. that's what he's going to do. he's got a good head on his shoulders. >> so, tim, you're among fans every day. immersed in the culture in st. louis in missouri. what do fans want him to say? >> i think fans want him to be part of the team. fans want to see what he can do for the rams. i put it on twitter last night whether or not people were onboard and if so why, and if not, why not? and overwhelmingly, carol, they were excited, because they felt they got a great football player, in the seventh round. that's just not customary. at the same time, for those who aren't particularly paying close attention to the st. louis rams defensive lines, they have one of the best offensive lines in

all of the nfl. very difficult for him to make the football team. difficult to make teams around nfl. particularly here in st. louis. while the rams showed courage in selecting him they also might feel a bit of a backlash if they have to cut him in three, four months. they show they're not practicing discrimination in selecting sam and hope they get the benefit of doubt if they have to let him go in august. >> we'll all be watching. thank you saall for being leer. appreciate it. coming up in the "newsroom," the twitterverse is going crazy over the now infamous elevator fight between beyonce's younger sister and jay-z. what's up with this? we'll talk about that, next.

body language spoke loudly. all smiles at the nets game after this security video was reported after the gala which paints a different picture. the shocking video purportedly captures solange attacking jay-z inside the standard hotel elevator and kicking him multiple times. jay-z holding her foot but never retaliating. bee solange leaving the new york city venue tight lipped and jay-z opting for a separate vehicle. >> they were getting along great at the ball where they were before this and beyonce and solange were dancing together. >> reporter: the video a huge departure from the superstar couple's carefully protected some would say untouchable image from secretive yet glamorous birth of their daughter blue ivy

terrible mistake and insists he's no racist. but in the same exclusive interview with cnn's anderson cooper, sterling goes off on magic johnson calling him a womanizer and suggesting that he's no role model for kids. here's sterling in his own words. >> i'm hurt that he called me up and he said don't do anything. wait until you hear from me. then somebody called me later and said he doesn't want to be involved. and then he released a tape that i said to him that i talked to him in confidence. i didn't give any interviews. you're my interview. i'm deciding if i like you. i mean, here's a man -- i don't know if i should say this. he acts so holy. he made love to every girl in every city in america and he had aids and when he had those aids, i went to my synagogue and i prayed for him and i hoped he

could live and be well. i didn't criticize him. i could have. is he an example for children? because he has money, he's able to treat himself. but magic johnson is irrelevant in this thing. he didn't do anything harmful to anybody and i respect him and i admire everything that he does. i would like to help even more if he would offer me an opportunity to help. i like to help minorities. >> magic johnson said that he would never attend a game while you were owner. he showed up to a game today. >> he would never what? >> attend a clippers game as long as you were owner and he came today to see the game. >> he was there at the game? >> yeah. >> i don't think it's worthy of even discussing such a stupid remark. but he lulled me into waiting a

i'm sorry. you know, they all want to play golf with me. everybody wants to be with me. >> all right. there are 150 students on college scholarships thanks to magic johnson's foundation and opened dozens of movie theaters in underserved areas and he's also invested billions, with a b, billions in urban redevelopment. sterling's magic bashing so bad the nba felt the need to apol y apologize to magic johnson. i just read a transcript of donald sterling's interview with anderson cooper. i feel compelled to apologize to magic johnson that he continues to be draggeded in ed intged in situation. the nba board of governors is continuing with its process to remove mr. sterling as expeditiously as possible. magic johnson himself tweeted

last night. "i rather are talk about these great nba playoffs than donald sterling's interview." you can hear magic johnson in an exclusive interview with anderson cooper. johnson will sit down with anderson tonight at 8:00 p.m. eastern. with me now to talk is rick berry and member of the retired nba players association, jerome williams. welcome to both of you. >> thanks, carol. >> jerome, do you want to play golf with mr. sterling? >> no, not at this time. i think i'm going to have to pass him up on that. everybody wants to play golf with him. >> what do you make of what he said and why does he keep talking? >> well, you know, i just look at it as this is a guy who is 80 years old and obviously he has had a long life and he's been around and had this franchise

for many years and i think that he is now basically stepped off the deep end in terms of what he's saying about certain players, about his franchise. he's definitely a little delusional in terms of his connection with reality and i think that it has to do with the fact that when you have a lot of money, sometimes you're put in this bubble where you don't really come into contact with a lot of people. with the people at large and i think that that is really clouding his judgment. >> i think that's very kind of you to say, jerome. if nba owners were watching sterling last night, what do you suppose they were thinking? >> oh my god, what is he doing now. this man is continually opening his mouth and inserting his foot and making a sad situation even worse. i just don't understand what he's thinking about when he's saying these things. i heard portions of the

interview before yesterday and i hadn't heard all of the other stuff that he said. i thought what he said before was bad when he said that magic hasn't done much for minorities in los angeles but the things he brought up here were reprehensible. adam silver, just to show you the classy young man that he is and what a great commissioner he's going to be, i think it's great what he did to come out to apologize and there should be an apology to magic johnson. what this man is doing right now is just making the situation worse that would hopefully go away. one of the attorneys was on saying this man has been contacting law firms about suing and yet he goes on the show and talks about the fact that he thinks suing wouldn't be very good. he is a liar. i can affirm that. i had dealings with him years ago and the man flat out lied to me. i don't believe anything this man says. >> i think he's a hypocrite. he brings up magic johnson bringing up sleeping with all these women. he's a married man. he was trying to get v. stiviano

to have sex with him and buying her expensive presents to do that. there is some weird disconnect there with him. >> absolutely. when you start talking about people's sexual relations and different things, i think that really just steps beyond the line even when anderson cooper asked him about his relationship, he said, you know, he was the type of guy that doesn't talk about it. his relationships. so then he goes onto talk about magic johnson in a way that's very harmful and i agree with rick barry in terms offed a ad silver's comments in apologizing. this is ludicrous in terms of how he's attacking another one of our alumni and he could attack any of us for that matter if he so chose so i really stand behind what they're saying right now. >> so, rick, is it even more important than ever that the nba

divest itself of sterling quickly as in just right after the playoffs are over? >> as soon as possible. it couldn't be done quick enough as far as i'm concerned. the sad part about it is that he also now you have his wife and her attorney talking about the fact that they want to try to fight this so they can have ownership as far as she is concerned and possibly other members of her family. i appeal to her. listen to what lebron james said. he and the rest of the nba players do not want any member of the sterling member involved with this team. why would you fight for something that will never be a positive thing? it can't possibly happen. they need to just go away. donald sterling will get a fortune when he sells this basketball team. go get an island somewhere and isolate yourself and get away from everybody and do us all a favor. >> and jerome, if shelly sterling really does get the team, the players are going to walk off and boycott, aren't they? >> absolutely.

>> also you're going to -- >> number one, you cannot have a situation where any sterling member, family, wife, kids, children, anybody with the sterling name attached to l.a. clippers. this is something that the players will not tolerate. i think that the executive interim director has definitely made his point to the nba and adam silver has done an excellent job talking to the board of governors. they had right to terminate any ownership group in the nba. that's a right they'll expose and they're going to take advantage of because this is a billion dollar industry. the nba represents one of the global games that is transcending culture, ethnicity, race, and when you have a problem with an ownership group, that's what they're going to eliminate and not jeopardize the entire fabric of the makeup of

daniel and his family witnessed the terror firsthand. >> we have to run into the bushes for our lives so it was a horrifying night. fear is everywhere. >> reporter: daybreak brings respite but the school serves as a reminder of the sheer scale of the devastation. nearly a month since the night when the radical islamist group boko haram stormed this town, more than 200 girls are still missing. tired of waiting for help to arrive, fear is making way for resilience. it's almost unimaginable having such a trauma strike at the heart of a community like that. i have to tell you, carol, it was extraordinary to see people picking themselves up, people going out on patrols. many mothers had gone out into the deep bush on the trail of

he's a radio legend and for decades deejay casey kasem made his marks by telling fans to keep their feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars. >> thank you and hello again. welcome to america's top ten. let's turn right to the action on the billboard pop singles chart and countdown the ten most popular songs in the land this week. >> a countdown of the top music in the country. today casey kasem is missing. according to his daughter, a judge has now ordered an investigation into his disappearance. kasem's family says his wife, jean, illegally pulled kasem out of a treatment facility where he was receiving care for advanced parkinson's. so let's bring in cnn digital reporter alan duke to talk more about this. does jean know where he is?

is she just not saying? >> yes, she apparently isn't telling her lawyer where he is. her lawyer appeared in court yesterday in los angeles and a probate judge and told him he doesn't know where she is with her husband and doesn't know where casey is. but is believed to be out of the country. and therefore this court doesn't have jurisdiction. the judge did not buy that and instead issued an order appointing one of his daughters as his temporary conservatory which means she has control over him. right now the judge has ordered an adult protection agency lawyer to check and find out where is casey kasem. this is a beloved icon of american culture who is on the radio today because they are still replaying his old shows from the '70s and '80s on oldies stations. a lot of people are concerned about casey kasem, his advanced

parkinson's disease. his mind is still good but he can't walk. he's in a wheelchair and they are concerned about his health. >> what a sad story. there's been a battle between casey kasem's wife and his children. some of his children talked to cnn back in december. listen. >> there's been a resistance for so long ever since my father married her so it's been a very long time. we saw this coming. we weren't blind-sided by this. take the person you love most on earth, know that they're sick and want to see you. you get 20 minutes with them before being ripped away by an armed guard and having them say please stay. you can't. >> so kasem's other daughter says their father signed papers in 2007 giving the children power of attorney over casey kasem's health care in the event he was unable to make his own decisions. who is within their rights here?

is it the wife or the kids? >> well, the daughter and son-in-law who were named in that document in 2007 tried to enforce it in october of last year. in fact, they were so frustrated they staged a protest outside of the los angeles home where their stepmom was inside apparently with the father. but the judge in october said, no, we're not going to enforce this right at this time. they came to an agreement where some of the kids could visit him and supposedly allegedly that agreement was eventually breached. so they're frustrated. they want to see their father. now they're told he's out of the country and there's a lot of concern about it. >> it's really a sad, sad story. alan duke, thanks so much. be sure to tune into cnn tonight at 9:00 p.m. eastern. bill will sit down with casey kasem's kids. donald sterling owns up to his mistake with v. stiviano. >> i thought she cared for me.

while and made her move when she saw the opportunity. >> let's talk about this part of the story with cnn's stephanie elam and criminal defense attorney and clippers season ticket hold, brian. i don't even know what to ask it's so bizarre. do you think that he really did love her, stephanie? >> i think that he probably truly had feelings for her the way he was acting and perhaps he was deluded in this whole situation but it sounds like he's defending her saying she's a good person while at the same time bashing her. he said a hundred men may look at her and not think she's attractive and she didn't love me. even after the first batch of tapes came to light, he was still seen with her. it seems he could have asked these questions and why he didn't is befuddling. it's a bizarre relationship. he defends his wife and how great of a woman she is. there's a lot of emotion here.

how to pick it apart from what is really and what isn't, it's a lot. right now he could be playing the role of i'm just the old man that got taken advantage of. he seems too savvy for that. >> he says the one honest thing i think he said is that he doesn't understand women because when you make a comment, 100 other men could look at her and not think she's pretty but because i do she is. i validate her and she should be grateful i think she's pretty. to me, that's what it really meant. brian, i know you understand women. >> that's why i'm still single. that's how much i understand women. i need a 12-step program to find the right woman. here's the thing. donald sterling only loves one thing. he doesn't love v. stiviano or shelly sterling. he loves two things. power and money. that's what he loves. the good news for donald

sterling once he's forced to sell the clippers, he may have a shot on a leading role on "days of our lives" because that's the best acting i have ever seen. >> you think those are crocodile tears? >> those were not tears. those are tears of fear and not tears of remorse. he is realizing that he's going to lose his team. here's the thing, carol. donald sterling used this bait defense. she forced me to say this. let me remind your viewers, this is a shrewd businessman. he's a billionaire with a b. not an m. he owns over 100 properties in west los angeles. now, did v. stiviano force him to buy all of those properties? did v. stiviano force him to buy the clippers? of course not. and for him to try to blame her, i think is just reprehensible.

i have one offer to v. stiviano by the way. if she has this much power, i want to make an offer. i have two season tickets to the clippers. i will offer v. stiviano one of my seats if she can get back on the phone with donald sterling because she has that much power and convince him to sell the clippers. she's got my ticket. >> she's used to going to the game in better seats, brian. she has a better seat than wherever yours is. >> and poses for pictures with bigger stars. a last word about v. stiviano. i find it strange she adopted legally these two foster children, right, and donald sterling in that interview says she supports her family. i don't even know what to make of that. >> is that cousins? is that other siblings? is that aunts and uncles? we don't know who that is. what does seem to be ringing

built for business. his nfl career is well documented and he hasn't started yet. for the first time since his famous kiss, michael sam will step forward as a member of the st. louis rams. this afternoon sam and the rest of the rams rookie class will meet the media and no doubt sam will face questions about the kiss. the kiss he shared with his boyfriend on national television just moments after he became the first openly gay player selected in the nfl draft. we have a former nfl player who came out after his nine-year career and mike, a sirius xm host and voice for gay voices. >> good morning. >> thank you for being with me.

we'll start with you. what does michael sam need to say? >> you know, i just think he needs to say -- i mean, his whole life has been out there right now. i think what michael sam needs to say is that he's happy that he's in the nfl and he can't wait to get to work and prove himself. i think that's what everybody is kind of expecting him to say. >> michael, should he mention the kiss? should he talk about it? should he talk about being gay? >> i see no reason why he needs to talk about the kiss. everybody saw the kiss just like they see all of the players who are heterosexual kiss their girlfriends and they don't talk about it. they talk about how happy they are. he needs to talk about football and wanting to play football. that's why he's doing this. certainly there's a lot of media attention on this because it is monumental and it is important. he's breaking stereotypes about

masculinity and homosexuality and america needed to see that kiss though because some people think they're pro-gay and then they are just kind of queasy when they see it. sort of like maybe many years ago maybe thought, sure, blacks and whites who are heterosexual should marry but they didn't like seeing them kiss. i think the more people see gay men kissing and lesbians kissing, the more accepting they are. >> i want to put on rose colored glasses locker room and relate to players who may not be open to a gay player. let's face it. there are some players who feel that way. and what do you think that he needs to say to his fellow players and did seeing the kiss make that more difficult? >> you know, i don't think he has anything to say to any of the players or prove anything to anyone other than to himself. i mean, you know, the kiss was so funny that the kiss is something that blew up and it

was very much appropriate. in america today or anywhere when you celebrate something, right, you show your emotions and you celebrate with the person that you love. when i saw the kiss, it was an appropriate thing to do. for me, it's surprising that everybody thought, you know -- everybody had such negative comments about it when it was something everyone should have expected. >> i know but i don't know. i hope that you both are right. i do. i just think it's going to be more difficult for michael sam than you lead us to believe. think about just the pressure because he has to still make the team. st. louis has a good defense. it won't be easy. there's all this pressure on him. >> they knew he was gay. they knew he was gay coming into this. and now they see that he has a boyfriend. they see that he's in love. they see that he's actually very

happy. what else could people want? i would hope that other members of the team will say, hey, this guy is somebody who is as happy as we are in our relationships, more power to him. i mean, if the kiss is going to be the deal breaker, we really have a lot of problems. i think in fact we need to see more gay people kissing on tv. >> okay. there is one good sign and i want to get this out. michael sam's jersey, the number two selling jersey besides johnny manziel. that's a good sign, right? >> that's definitely a good sign. >> you know, the thing about this, gosh, you know, we're talking about -- everybody is talking about his football ability and everything else but for me, i'm just happy he's going to go into the nfl and just be himself and not have to deal with any of the pressure that i or players before me had to deal with and that's the
