12:02 pm
and more than 73 million current and former at&t customer stolen and then leaked >> on the dark webb what the company is doing to find out what happened and to keep its customers safe. we're following these major developing stories and many more all coming in right here to cnn a new central >> we start with that breaking news out of syria, where at least five people were killed in an israeli airstrike on the uranian consulate building in damascus that is, according to iran's ambassador to syria, among those reportedly killed a senior commander over ron's revolutionary guard the israeli military right now is not commenting, but a ron's foreign minister is warning that his country preserves the right to take what he described as reciprocal measures. let's see in an international diplomatic editor, nic robertson, nic, we're hearing
12:03 pm
condemnation from neighboring countries, including the united arab emirates. what else? you're learning about the attack and now the reaction to it >> yeah, we know that the death toll has now climbed to seven. we understand that too. syrian policeman who are positioned outside the concha, were also killed in the attack this is a very significant attack because it hits a diplomatic building that is complete eataly out of the range of the ordinary for israel. and i say that i'm droid vitamin because israel does have and has targeted iranian targets inside and irgc targets inside syria and inside damascus in the past, they took out a senior irgc uranian senior advisor to the irgc on christmas day, although again, they never accepted responsibility for it. but over time, it became more clear that all fingers pointed to them and that appears to be the case and why we're here in the
12:04 pm
condemnation coming so quickly from countries like the ue, the iranian ambassador today, who was in the building next door, who was unharmed by the way, his family was unharmed. said that he saw israeli jets, f35 fighter planes fire six missiles at the conduit. and the other thing that really takes up the tensions here is that the senior irgc commander who was killed here brigadier general mohammad reza zaidi is a very experienced veteran of the irgc. he's very senior as a former commander of the land forces, former commander of the air force. he is the most senior irgc figure who has been killed since the united states killed qasem soleimani and a drone strike in iraq. he was a quds force commander, a very senior, again, the most senior commander at the time in iran, who was killed in the beginning of 2020, january the second i think so. back then iran
12:05 pm
responded on us targets in iraq. how will they respond this time, it was a very strong response, would cruise missiles last time? and how will they respond this time? it isn't clear, but they're saying it will be decisive now, we'll have to watch for what iran might have in store now, nic robertson from london. thank you so much, brianna. >> i'll bring in cnn senior white house correspondent, kayla tausche. kayla, what is the administration saying about this attack in syria? >> well, so far briana, both the white house and the state department were asked about that attack in on-camera briefings that were held earlier today, both corinne, john, pierre, the spokesperson here at the white house, and matt miller, the spokesperson at the state department, declining to engage on the topic, saying they were aware of reports, but could not comment on the target or the responsible party behind the attack. but of course we know the administration has been working for months to try to keep this conflicts from escalating from widening in the region. and as nick just pointed out, this would be a
12:06 pm
significant departure from that. if that were to play out that way kayla the white, house goal all along has really been to contain this conflict, to prevent >> escalation to that end today, top biden and visuals tried to talk israel out of invading rafah. what can you tell us? >> well, we know that that meeting lasted for several hours. it was held virtually with a delegation that was supposed to come to washington last week choosing instead to do this meeting virtually. but a us official tells me that it was really seen as a continuation of conversations that have taken place on this topic over the course of several weeks. and that the fact that top israeli officials were willing to continue to engage on this topic and on the us's expressed desire for any military operation on or near rafah to be conducted in with this official shall tells me is a targeted manner that they see that as a positive development, even though no breakthrough is expected today, that being said, these meetings are
12:07 pm
expected to continue for coming days and weeks. and this official tells me that it's still not yet clear what top israeli officials have decided on how they will proceed here. >> all right. kayla tausche live at the white house. thank you for that report or >> also today, in the middle east, a two-week israeli raid of al-shifa hospital in gaza has come to a close. and we're learning about a steep death toll. officials in gaza, if confirmed that's some 300 bodies were left behind from the facility, as israeli troops withdrew, the israeli military says they killed more than 200 militants at that site, though cnn cannot independently confirm those figures. cnn's melissa bell is live force in jerusalem. melissa, this was not the first israeli operation ration inside al-shifa hospital obviously, we're learning more about the results of this latest one. tell us about it >> that's right bars in. fact, this was the idf needing to go back to the al shifa hospital
12:08 pm
complex, which was the biggest before the war began to take on the hamas terrorist that they believe to regroup there after they believed that operations in northern gaza had been drawn to a close. and of course, the pictures that we're getting there are pretty devastating. it. >> what is left of the al-shifa hospital complex is where palestinian rescue services have been trying to get back to try and see what bodies they can recover. and what civilians they can still help. and of course, those images come also nearly six months into this war and have been at the heart of love. these protests what is anger that we've seen here on the streets of jerusalem? today, i'm going to show you what's left with the protests de too, that we saw earlier today, these tense that have been parked outside the knesset, you can see there the faces and the names of some of the more than 130 hostages still in the hands of hamas they are very much at the heart of the anger that's been expressed here outside the knesset, but also the phage we've been hearing for many people here of the palestinian
12:09 pm
civilians. in fact, one of the things that was interesting today on day two of these protests was the political variety of the people who came here to protest. there were people from the left. there were people who were very supportive of this war when it began, and who simply feel that nearly six months on not only has it failed and it stated objective of bringing the hostages back but it has cost israel too much. have a listen to what former, a former deputy head of the idf had to tell us short while ago at here at this protest the idf fight. well very well but no true goals, not true alternative no political initiative. you know, that will take the military each events and make him positive out of it? no original thinking and no international thinking concerning the destiny of israel and how to secure israel even better do today of
12:10 pm
the military well, what we heard today from a variety of protesters who spoke to us was a >> great deal of frustration at the government, at the leadership of benjamin netanyahu. and these growing calls that we've had for elections to be held in order that he gold bars melissa bell, life force in jerusalem. thank you so much >> we're following some breaking news out of atlanta right now where let's review as rammed into the front gate of the fbi offices there. let's get straight to cnn's ryan young for the very latest ryan only going to get the very officials on the ground. >> actually, ryan, go ahead with your report. can you tell us can you tell us what you know >> i can't i've talked to fbi officials on the ground. they tell me that a car that suv try to graham the gate several times. the gain entry to the

have mesothelial not we'll send you a free book to answer questions you may have call now and we'll come to you >> 808 to one 4,000 this is cnn breaking news. >> we're tracking breaking news and to cnn news central this afternoon, a man has been arrested after attempting to ram his vehicle into a gate at the fbi headquarters in atlanta. we've learned that that individual has been taken into custody. the vehicle is currently being cleared by a bomb squad but as we take a look at pictures moments ago from cnn affiliate wxyz a, cnn's evan perez is joining us now with some new details about exactly what happened. evan walk us through what you've learned well, boris, what we know is that the person ram that car into, into that gate it's sort of the entryway to the fbi field office there in atlanta. and he got out tried to enter the again, the complex and was arrested immediately by
12:17 pm
by the fbi security people who are who screen anybody who tries to go into that into that area. >> now, >> what we're told is that he didn't make any statements or any threats or anything like that appeared to be just trying to get into the facility and it's not clear exactly why what prompted this action, but obviously, as you pointed out when something like this happens, they want to make sure what what threat remains from this. they're checking the vehicle to make sure that there are no additional threats. they don't believe that anything else related to this. but obviously that's one of the big concerns. obviously when something like this happens, what exactly drove this person to do this? and so that's now under investigation. he's now in the custody of the local authorities there the fbi says that there's no additional threats that they believe that this event poses bars. >> and evan, the fbi has been
12:18 pm
concerned about a rise in threats. what can you tell us? >> right? i mean, look, there has been an increase in threats against public officials across this country just some of it related to the political environment that we're in. but you remember in 2022, there was a man who went to the field office, the fbi field offices cincinnati and open fire. he ended up getting shot and killed so later on by by police, some hours later outside of cincinnati and near columbus. and so that's the kind of environment that we are in. and we've seen in the wake of the but the search of mar-a-lago again the fbi came under tremendous amount of threats around the country we've seen them removed the names of fbi agents, field agents, who are connected to specific cases. in part, because these people then get threats to their homes, to their families and so on. so
12:19 pm
this is an extraordinary period that we're all living through and you see it manifesting itself in the sort of overall threat that we have. and so the fbi at this point though, we don't know that this event that happened today in atlanta has anything to do with any of the larger threats that we see going on at public officials around the country. but that's the sort of the overall environment that we are now living with brianna and boris? >> yet we don't know. we have to be very clear about that, evan. we do know this is happening as the fbi has become increasingly politicized though, right >> right. there have been under political attacks and that's the accusation. is that the fbi is politicized. if you talk two chris ray, the fbi director, you've talked to agents, they say they're going around, they're going about doing their work. they don't really pay attention to politics and so the attacks that they get from politicians and from some
12:20 pm
figures in the media doesn't have to do anything with their work. but obviously that's the political environment that i talked about. and why you saw that event that happened in 2022? >> it >> really i think it rose it really garner a lot of concern four fbi people around the country, if that's the kind of thing that they have to deal with. now, we've also to be clear, you've also seen irs offices get attacked around the country. you've seen this around the country in various places. so it's not just the fbi, it's just the larger political environment, i guess that we're that we're in yeah. >> evan, please standby. we understand the fbi. atlanta's spokeswoman, jenna's still leto put out a statement essentially saying that the suspect has not been named, confirming those details that he ran out of the vehicle after it rammed into that gate. we did get an aerial view moments
12:21 pm
ago of what appears to be investigators combing through the car and what you're looking at now are live images from the scene. it appears to be a rust colored buick of some kind a mid-sized suv. and as we were looking at the aerial footage, ryan young, if you're still with us, ryan we saw a number of items that had been scattered on the floor. and from what it looks like in the back of the car, there appears to be a box. there was a cardboard box and the ground near the car as well would appear to be a briefcase and a cooler as well. now, it's unclear specifically of those items we're in the car not but what can you tell us about the work that's being done right now by investigators on this vehicle >> will boys, what we were told is they were definitely taking that posture by using the bomb team to see if there were any threats inside that vehicle they wanted to make sure they took that defensive posture first so they could go through that car to make sure everyone in that area is safe. you see is an office park area from what we're told, the suspect who has been and taken to a
12:22 pm
local area hospital, were told to be evaluated in some sense, we're not sure if they suffered a knee injuries or anything like that. but what we're told is that person did not have any weapons on them after they got out of the car obviously, they tried to make entry into that office park area. you can see just from the video here how the ram system deployed itself. so stopping that car from be able to make it through that barrier, not sure if the suspect tried to back it up and ramadan and again, but that system is there to deploy itself to make sure no car can follow another car coming into that secure area. some other fbi agents who were in the area were able to stop the man from sources on the ground they did say they heard some people yelling in the background. so not sure if that was the command to the suspect to get down before he was taken under arrest from there were told after he's at the hospital, he will be transferred over to the cab county police department that's where he will be then booked probably at the cap sheriff's department and then the mug shot would come from their now, anybody knows anything about evaluations knows that taking some time at
12:23 pm
the hospital before that person can be booked and turned over. the good news here is we know that no one was injured who was an fbi agent or anyone working in an office park during all this? they didn't took that bomb squad. you see the heavy armored vehicles that were moved into place. you can see they're bracket both in. so obviously they can pin that car and if they had two and they didn't find anything weapons wise, because you can see now everyone getting closer and closer to that car. so it seems like the threat levels obviously at a lot lower pace as you can see, the pictures being taken in the agent's going through that car piece by piece. but obviously this was a shock. this is in an office park it's near the highway. people know this area pretty well here in atlanta, georgia. but this came right after noon time when this car tried to accelerate, get through that gate barrier and was stopped by that ran system and then the suspect was taken into custody. so obviously, we're paying attention to all the details here and hopefully we've asked to see if they clearly know oh, who the suspect is at this point, but we want to know if
12:24 pm
they've had any interactions with police or the fbi in the last few months, were have their bidding online warnings to something like this happening that happened today. guys won one of many important >> unanswered questions. ryan, please standby. really fascinating that other apparently no weapons on this person. they made no statements or threats as they were being arrested. please stay with cnn. we're going to take a quick break and come back with the very latest out of atlanta or an suv has ram the gate the fbi office, there will be right back >> this is the big dam >> kane who that do? >> the most posted show late night >> that sounds insane to be real >> i think he would a full

12:30 pm
there, i think ryan young said it's in dekalb county. and so that's the expectation. now, they're evaluation is going to take some time oh include a mental health evaluation. again, there's a lot that is unexplained about this incident at this point. this person drove up to that what is an employee entrance for that complex where the fbi building is or what the fbi field offices located? and tried to gain entry. they came out of the vehicle and tried to walk in to the complex. they were stopped by the fbi security people who help screen visitors to that to that complex. and so that's where this ended. this point again, from what we know. the person didn't make any statements, any threats. there was no expectation of a heightened threat at this fbi building. so it was certainly something of a surprise. and so what's what's gonna happen
12:31 pm
next is obviously he's being evaluated not only for any potential injuries but also for a potential mental health issues because this is so unexplained at this point as ryan young pointed out, there were no weapons found immediately and the vehicle has been cleared. there's no bombs. so those are the fight. those are the first an immediate concerns when you have something like this, those are the first and immediate concerns that the security folks, the fbi, tries to make sure is made clear and so now the work to continues to try to figure out what happened here, what prompted this person to go to this entrance? and ram that vehicle into that into that barrier, the entry to the fbi field office, just outside of atlanta, boris and i'm brianna oven, please standby. we want to bring in josh campbell. he's a cnn security correspondent, also a former fbi supervisory special agent josh first talk to us about the
12:32 pm
security measures that are in place around these kinds of buildings. and obviously the protocol that goes into place when something like this happens, it worked in this case, apparently as it was designed to yeah this is an effective security system. as you can see from the front of that buick suv, their smashed into what's called the final denial barrier. there, a layered security approaches to these federal buildings. you obviously have the iron gates and then that system that's in place there to prevent what this person allegedly attempted to do. and that is make entry into that building. what we've seen over the last couple of years, we've talked about these threats that have manifested against fbi employees. we know that the fbi stood up its own individual cell a unit just to track threats against fbi personnel. so it's something that they certainly have been taken king seriously. we know an october of 20 or excuse me, august of 2022. there was an individual who had attempted to breach the fbi field office there in ohio
12:33 pm
that then led to a stand off that person was eventually killed. and so we know that the fbi security division, which is based at fbi headquarters, but has personnel's stages across the country has been focused very very, very heavily on security. we've also seen over the last couple of decades a move to get fbi field offices out of downtown areas and in more to a stand alone type facility and security obviously is paramount there. you want to have what's called standoff, where you you're not on a busy road way where you can put these security processes that are in place, then you go back to 1995, the alpha p. murphy federal building bombing in oklahoma city, that was really a wake-up call for the federal government about how to protect these facilities. and certain field offices to include there at fbi atlanta, you have security personnel that work around the clock, but you can also overlook the fact that we're talking about a building that houses federal agents. and so they obviously would respond very quickly. we see some of
12:34 pm
the fbi swat vehicles that were pulled up along the scene there to just to ensure that this person didn't make further entry, we know that that person, obviously now in custody, and then we move to the investigation. patient determine who this individual was. it appears from our affiliate coverage, it looks like that buick has south carolina play it unclear if this vehicle belong to the individual, whether this was a rental car. and so there's an investigative process that's now in place to fully identified this person. and then try to get to that motive. was this some type of mental health? episode was someone who was specifically targeting personnel at that fbi facility we don't yet know. we're obviously waiting for that. there already is to provide that type of information, but clearly a very serious incident that has happened here and it's something i talked to the fbi employees all the time to specifically over the last couple of years, really concerned about their own security i talked to one agent who talked about taking further precautions, even driving to work, doing a couple extra laps around the building just to put eyes on to make sure that there
12:35 pm
aren't suspicious people that are in around these buildings. so for people who work at this federal law enforcement agency is certainly a very sensitive time. again, we don't know the motive what happened right here yet, but just looking at those images you can just see how this could have been very, very dangerous if there were any personnel that were in around that building, guys, there's always questions and we don't know the answers in this particular case, josh, is it a mental health episode? is it ideology of some sort? is that a combination of the two? >> but >> when these things happen, we have those questions because of what you mentioned with cincinnati and just because of how much the fbi has become politicized, both in the wake of the mar-a-lago search, in the wake of the hillary clinton email server investigation you had congressional testimony last year from some in the fbi. or formerly of the fbi who'd had their security clearances revoked after they hit either attended january 6 or had had trafficking conspiracy theories about it and all of that, i
12:36 pm
wonder from your perspective, has that put the fbi really kind of on the map for a lot of people in a way that it wasn't before >> now, most certainly, i mean, he's going to talk about a lot of the conspiracy theories about the fbi over the last several years. i mean, that is something that obviously is a very concerned to personnel. i'll state at the outset, obviously that if this ends up being a mental health incident obviously, the vast majority of people people who struggle with mental health don't turn out to be violent. so it's important to note that, but when you have people that are on the receiving end specifically online social media, all of this vitriol, all of these conspiracy theories, i mean, you look at that individual back in 2022 and cincinnati. this is someone who this follow the fbi's search at mar-a-lago with a residents and that person was essentially arming for some type of revolution. law enforcement sources had told us at the time. so you can just see how when you have people that are out there consuming that type of information, and then they
12:37 pm
might be prone to actually act upon that with violence that is something that law enforcement and indeed, federal and state and local security facilities across the country are having to guard against it's also worth noting, we have 79ad reported about a dea dhs bulletin not long ago that came out to department of homeland security. that was warning state, federal, local law enforcement around the country to be on guard for potential political violence. they listed a number of different reasons why that could be the case. everything from action taking place around legislatures around the country actions in the courts. they didn't specifically mentioned former president donald trump and his legal woes, but that was essentially signaling that you have people that'd because of what's happening there and that court system that might be might decide to act with violence and then a host of other different reasons. and that spans the political spectrum. people who might be prone to act with violence. and so if you're a law enforcement agency, that is something that

you're having to guard against so i'll state again because i know the people on social media who tried to connect dots here. we don't know that this has anything to do with any type of political incident. we don't know yet that this was a mental health episode, quite frankly, for fbi personnel on the scene. that's a second factor for them. the first is to obviously render safe that vehicle which we know is happened to bring in the bomb technician just to make sure that aren't in any type of explosives or weapons. but the investigation itself is going to be very important. one thing that i will question, and obviously we have a lot of questions is as authorities go back and look at the cctv footage that blankets these fbi facilities. they'll be looking for. was this someone who had come to this location? for were they trying to surveil do some type of reconnaissance? it's interesting to me that that first level barrier that you see that that iron fencing there appears to be open. the person didn't crash into that. the person crashed into that final denial barrier which receives into the ground. and so is this someone who was waiting as an employee was
12:39 pm
entering to then try? hi to piggyback and come in behind that individual or was this a gate that was just left open which was obviously a very security issues. so a lot of questions that go into why this person was there, what the person was doing in the moments leading up to that. and then this day and age, so many people are on social media yes. so once they fully identify this person, they'll want to try to determine whether there were any indication that this was about to happen again, to get to that motive, why the person decided that they wanted to do this final point, i'll make is that the fbi, unlike other facilities such as the department of defense, such as the central intelligence agency, they have to walk a fine line between being a secure facility, but also a facility where members of the public can come in when i was an fbi agent, all fbi agents have to sit. what's called the duty agent. that happens a number of times a year depending on the size of the field office. and that is people that come in that want to report some type of crime
12:40 pm
that they've been a victim. and so while there is security, there also has to be some type of welcoming approach that's something that they're always trying to calibrate how to ensure that bad actors don't make their way in important perspective there from josh campbell, josh, please standby. if you are just joining us, a suspect has been taken into custody and is now been taken to the hospital for evaluation after ramming a vehicle. and the fbi field office in atlanta, that vehicle has been scanned by a bomb squad. it has been cleared. of course, still a lot of questions to answer specifically about the motivation behind this incident. we're going to take a quick break and we'll be right back to break down the very latest on cnn news central if you work in spaceflight, this is the worst possible thing that could ever happen >> my dad died doing what he loved >> space shuttle columbia, the final flight premieres sunday at nine on cnn. >> welcome to the waiver hood

12:46 pm
>> and >> that is a very effective means of stopping vehicles coming in that could stop a dump truck. so whoever hit that is certainly feeling it right now and thankfully, this all ended well, the no one was killed at this point. but the truth of the matter is, the fbi and all of the federal agencies spend an enormous amount of time making sure that deficit these are secure. and one of the big issues is somebody getting a vehicle borne explosive device into a facility like that. so that pop up various stop the car and whoever was trying to get in there was able to be apprehended by the agents score on site along with most likely the local police will most likely responded to this so it ended because it ended in a good way because there was a lot of planning put into having those systems in place. i have
12:47 pm
to fbi supervisors at work with me day in and day out. and we're constantly worried about the tenor of politics and just general mentalities in the country that things like this can happen. so we're going to watch this closely, hopefully this is a one-off but you need to be prepared for anything these days >> yeah. we are looking at live pictures. we should let our viewers know of the scene there in atlanta, it appears a tow truck has arrived and folks on the ground of signaled for it to begin moving to start the process of getting that vehicle out of there. no doubt it will be very closely looked at by investigators wherever it is headed. let's bring in senior law enforcement analyst for cnn, charles ramsey sir, thanks so much for being with us. i'm wondering what questions you have as this investigation now gets underway and we have a suspect that tried to enter this fbi atlanta office, apparently unarmed and
12:48 pm
apparently in a vehicle that contain no weapons and according to the bomb squad nothing suspicious >> well, i mean, main question is why why would you do that? if there are no explosives you didn't have any firearms or anything like that. so what did you plan on doing is this a person mentally ill or something else? i don't no >> but thank god, they >> have the layers of security they need around that facility as well as other federal facilities to make sure something like this really can be intercepted. that pop up barrier, which very are heard. it referred to it as that is incredibly effective. but you have to be alert to make sure that you have all these things in place, that you have layers of security because you never know. i'm sure they've already notified all the field offices around the country, put everybody on alert. not that this is part of anything larger. you do that out of an
12:49 pm
abundance of caution. just to make sure that no one else has a particular problem >> yes, certainly. and josh campbell back with us now, what would you expect from your experience to be going on behind the scenes at this point in time? >> yeah so the fbi has 56 field offices across the country, many more satellite offices as well. and as both the chiefs were just saying, there, although this incident now appears to be relegated just to fbi atlanta, this is something certainly that other offices around the country will be will be focusing on i'm sure urgent alert has already gone out internally around the fbi and notifying those field offices of what is occurring. the fbi has its own division. we often think about the fbi doing investigations and intelligence collection and analysis. but there's an entire fbi division, the security division, which has focused on protecting the organizations own people. that's obviously physical security, number of
12:50 pm
different other areas of security that they focus on in order to protect employees. but when you look at facilities and buildings, we know the old adage, right? the bad guys only have to be right one that certainly applies here when you're talking about security around the facility. so as we saw after that august 2022 incident and cincinnati, we here at cnn had reported the fbi was conducted analysis around its buildings across the country just to ensure that proper procedures were in place, that they had the proper types of equipment that in place just in case that something like this were to happen. and we can imagine this now happening behind the scenes. genes again, just to ensure that we don't see something like this had occur again >> and again, we are watching live images here of the outside of the fbi field office in atlanta where a rust colored mid-sized suv apparently rammed the entry gates shortly after noon. you're watching it live as that vehicles now being towed after investigators comb

janice and now soda. my neighbors i'm evan perez, federal court in washington. and this is cnn >> all right. we're following this breaking news out of atlanta, where an suv that rammed into the security gate at the fbi field office. there has just been towed away from the scene. in after it was stopped from going in. here it is. this is from earlier it was
12:56 pm
stopped from going into the facility by a barrier gate that it popped up in front of it. it did seem to make it through this other gate which would be the one that opens and closes as cars go through that check point let's bring in charles ramsey can you talk a little bit about the investigation and where this is going to go from here, there'll be many questions, charles, and we don't have answers to them. we know as we understand it that the suspect was unarmed. we don't know a motive at this point in time. >> well, that's something, you know, try to get to. there's no question about that. you look at the damage on that car. it's very possible. >> he's >> receiving some medical care. right now as well, but investigators will be debriefing him as soon as they possibly can to find out why i mean, what was the motive behind doing something like this? was an accident. you lose control of the car. was it intentional? mean these are the kinds of questions that they're going to have to be asking in order to determine exactly what
12:57 pm
took place and why it took place. the other thing i want to mention because i think this is a good example of it. when these federal agencies like the fbi and others have their budget before congress is important that there be funding for security they need serious security measures around these buildings and it doesn't happen for free. and so that's an important thing that you won't hear the active federal just say necessarily about up their budget. but having run a police department and knowing that equipment is sometimes something that gets short changed a bit. it's going to be very important because the world has changed and these kinds of attacks unfortunately, it can become, are more common commissioner ramsay, please stand by. wanna go live to a press briefing that's happening outside that field office in atlanta by officials. let's listen in >> precautions prevented them from getting in for the brand i can confirm that, no, i'm not sure. >> we get >> yes. yes, sir. yes
12:58 pm
>> i can't i can't say that at this point. we haven't done our investigation yet not at this time, no i can't answer that at this point. no >> type of financial situations like we do, we actually trained for this type of situation we recently did had training to prevent this that we that we have done before? yes not not something like this. not to my knowledge not that i can i can say at this time. i don't know >> think your opinion >> i don't know >> the current get-in keeping now, we will have seen any type of situation like this. we always go and we do like a hot wash should we should we go sit down and we talk? about the situation? absolutely >> i can't
12:59 pm
>> say that at this point, still an ongoing investigation >> all right. thank you. thanks >> thank you so much. thank you >> all right unfortunately, we couldn't hear a number of the questions there, but we were able to hear some that was a special agent in charge out of the fbi field office there in atlanta following this suv ramming the entry barrier, fali, but was sing e that they've ted recently, ev for this and clearly that's training that kicked in. we saw this was an effective stoppage of this person trying to get in? yeah, >> not many specifics from that special agent in charge about the suspect or about the incident that we've yet to determine. let's bring in a former boston police commissioner, et davis and ed quickly we know that as we've alluded to before, this suspect is now at a hospital for medical evaluation just seeing the front damage to that card. it's likely that they potentially needed some kind of medical assistance, but also so with that comes a mental health
1:00 pm
evaluation, right? walk us through what goes into that >> well he certainly is heard i can guarantee you that the only reason that guys alive is because of the airbag those as i said, those those barricades will stop a mack truck. so he he's injured in the hospital they're going to look at everything about him right now. they are going to look at his home. they're going to look at his cell phone. they're going to look at his online presence they're going to try to determine whether there was a mental health issue here are whether there's something else going on that part of the process will be secondary to the physical assessment at the emergency room. the doctors need to stabilize him and make sure that he survives this incident. but after that's over very quickly. the bill will be evaluations in yeah, commissioner davis. thank you so much for the perspective we're going to go ahead and toss it to the lead with jake
