the speaker: i thank this cross sectionf republican colleagues who are here to highlight a lot of these important things. i want to summarize what has been said and we'll take qu people are going to hear from president biden about the state of the union and i have been asked, if you had to describe in one word¿ what you believe the state of the union is, you have heard the crisis, you heard catastrophe. i think maybe a summary o and ih great sadness and because of this president and this administration that we are in decline. decline. every day goods are more expensive. people can barely afford the cost of living, groceries and gasoline. home ownership is out of reach. and u.s. household debt is at all-time high. american sorchtd in decline. the southern border is a total

catastrophe. no other way to describe that. ls have taken control. fentanyl poisoning is killing our children. while he opened the border with his reckless executive actions and 64 that he has taken to open that b we learned last week he never one time spoke to the chief of the border patrol. comericans from laken riley to the 14-year-old rape victim in our home state of alln victimized that the biden administration has released in our country. he releasing them into your state. every state is a border state. carjackings are up. against law enforcement are rising. 600,000 known criminal aliens

roaming, free re-offend. the actual number is much higher and that's the official number that we know about. some of us believe tre as many 15 million illegals since joe biden walked into the oval office.o america's presence is on decline. iran, russia, china, our adversaries are have unres. the president is turning his back on our greatest ally. botcl from afghanistan our stature has been diminished that is difficult to calculate. president biden is going to try to suggest that the state of the union is strong and expect he is going to say this is a time for reset. is not strong and everyone knows it. doesn't matter what political

party you are lean in. you know this country is not in good shape because of its leadership in the white house. presid biden is the least popular president in modern history. america is in decline. and nothing he says tomorrow gh÷ that. house republicans will continue to fight to hold biden and his administration accountable. that isional duty and responsibility and we will fulfill it and committed to saving this republic and that will happen in november wheneris be heard. what would you say is the state of the republican process? the spear: republican conference is encouraged and strong and we have a weekly gathering of all the republicans and we know that for example on the appropriations bill, the government spending we are not going to get everything we want. we want to cut spending and limit the size and scope of the federal government. have divided government, we have a two-vote majority, one of the smallest. and we half of one-third of the federal government. but in spite of that, we have an appropriations package that is nondefense, and going to increase defense spending at this time around the globe. those are priorities we have advanced and advanced cuts to some of the agencies that we believe are overreaching and

have been turned in some ways against the american people. cut 3% from d.o.j. 6% from the f.b.i.6k and 10% frm the e.p.a. that is a start. we have a lot more priorities we need to advance. we have to grow the take back te and win the white house and i'm here to tell you the reason we are optimistic and those things. [indiscernible] the speaker: we committed to do 12 separate appropriations bills and the reason it has been difficult is because washingtono

do that. statutory law requires congress to work in a 1974 budget control act spells out a timetable that ends by late summer and done with the spending bills well in advance of september 30. congress hasn't done that in a long time. since iave be congress last seven years we ruled by omnibus. congress would kick the can down the road and on the eve of christmas, the senate would send to the house a massive spending billspent $2 trillion and 4,000 pages and no one has time to read and we said that's not the way to run government. it takes a long time to turn an aircraft carrier. we are forcing reforms to force

congress back into the statutory mode and the way in which it is supposed to work. that meansrate appropriation bills. >> i want to remind everybody that all occurred before the speaker -- the speaker: thank you, scott perry. we are working very hard to bacn aircraft carrier. we put into the new invention that scott perry helped to make this work and move that deadline because it takes a long time to get this done. and long overdue. we are very happy now we are at the point we can move beyond and turn our attention to f.y.2025 to push this back into the mode in the regular order and

procedure. i think that is good-bye the american taxpayers and look forward to moving that forward.■ [indiscernible] the speaker: we are very happy wi the results last night. it will be a rematch and we like that rematch. from my perspective, president trump hiscause this is not an ud theory. we know what he delivered. the first two years of his ad greatest economy in the history of the world and the reason was because we acted upon our core premises that we supported. we limited the size and scope of government. we cut regulation substantially and and tax reform he was trying to work through the agency to change the way washington works. he got a lot of resistance

because he was still feeling it out. he just arrived in washington and was trying to figure it out. i think he has big plans to change some of that going forward. the house republicans are going to work hand in hand wi the 47th president which we are convinced will be president trump and turn the catastrophe, the crisis, the decline that wee will have republicans in the house and senate and i think it's goi nine for the safety, security, sovereignty and liberty of our nation and can't happen soon enough. thank you all for being here.
