he's become kind of politically toxic as a symbol of the problem. it will be interesting to see because you quote the president saying today he's going to have a serious conversation, whether or not he's up to doing it, my guess is shinseki is a pretty tough guy. he's a disabled veteran himself, is going to sit there and say yeah, i am the guy. i can do this. so it's sometimes the commander in chief has to be the commander in chief and say it's not up to you anymore. >> it just seems like a lot of democrats who were up for election are jumping off because they can not be associated with this travesty and scandal. the latest was mike warner in virginia. >> yeah. as i say, you've also got a bunch of these democrats like allison grimes in kentucky running against mitch mcconnell. michelle nun, people that are first timers trying to get into the senate, they're all calling for shinseki to step down. he's become politically toxic. the symbol of this and you can sit there and say, maybe he could work it through and get a

but the support and cooperation on our public and private partners. we learned to better focus our talents and our resources. five years ago i don't think -- at least i didn't really know how many veterans were homeless. there are a number of estimates, or what really caused homelessness. since then we have settled on an annual point in time count conducted by hud to peg our estimates. today we better understand what factors contribute to homelessness, depression, insomnia, pain, substance use, disorder, failed relationships, usually the last is a product of the first four. >> it sounds as if he's going back into his prepared remarks, just about homeless vets. but what's curious is he said since 2009, we've been able at the v.a. to fix problems.
