because so many refuse to acknowledge it including the administration. >> carley: if you are the president of the united states i don't want to be helping out the members of the mexican drug cartels but that's unfortunately what's happening with the biden administration's policies. griff, let's bring in iowa congresswoman mayor yet miller-meeks a member of the homeland security committee. when you talk about the border situation, congressman. >> a lot of it does have to do with national security. when you think about 56 known terrorists or people on the terror watch list that have entered into this country or at least tried to and were caught. and the question always remains how many have gotten across the border that we don't know about you know border crossings are up by over 500 percent from a 2020. record number of encounters. not just the people coming across the border as you indicated there are people on the terror watch list that are coming across the border and record number of illegal drugs

that have been confiscated including fentanyl and synthetic fentanyl led to record number of overdoses in our young people in country. we do not have operational control of the border. instead of hiring 87,000 irs agents. we should be putting more money into protecting our southern border and increasing the number of border patrol agents we have. >> griff: congresswoman, we are just about out of time. do iowans care about this? does this open border matter to the rest of the country other than the next and arizona and california communities? >> every border is a border state. we absolutely care about it here in iowa. i hear about it repetitively when i'm traveling the district. er state is a border state. you know it's a problem when you have the mayors of new york and the mayors of washington, d.c. complaining and asking for the national guard in their cities to deal with the migrants that are being bused there. we need the national guard on the border we need president biden to get control of our border and secure our border. >> this who bus situation from
