especially now that the estimated cost of taxpayers is half a trillion dollars over the next ten years. an op-ed in "the washington post" paul's their plant -- calls their plans aggressive, and -- no concerns about taking money from plumbers and giving it -- writing that low-wage workers will pick up the tabs to cancel the educational debt. how is the president responding to these questions? let's take a look. >> and about -- how others don't have to? we see this all the time. i want to flashback to another biden and pelosi moment. they both addressed this issue. >> people think that the president of the united states

folded in together, that's a massive amount of money. it used to be that 10% of your expression area income -- your discretionary income, and now, they are whittling with the responsibility is. the government owns the debt. we pay the government, so we are on the hook for the debt, and for people who aren't going to earn $1.3 million over their lifetime of a college degree, which is two-thirds of americans. they are going to have to pay the debt, and more of that will come from people who have masters and phds. they are the real money suckers, and they will generate a lot more over their lifetimes. >> we remember obama with dhaka saying " -- we remember obama with daca

saying he wasn't a god, but then did this. it's not just republicans, it's not just economists from the right. you have obama's former economic advisor, jason furman, saying that -- roughly half a trillion dollars of gasoline on the inflationary fire area you have clinton's former treasury secretary saying that student loans raises demand and increases inflation, while also being inflationary for rise of tuition, which we have seen go from $2,930 in 1971 to $51,000, so even mines from the left say "no." >> i love that kennedy hit on that from the 10% threshold to 5%, because you are a nerd and i love you for it. hugely inflationary until the end of the year, because that applies to everyone: advanced degrees, rich doctors, lawyers, and investment bankers, which we talked about yesterday. the committee for responsible federal budget is outraged, came up with the half a trillion dollars figure, even more than that. they said "we project the overall amount of outstanding federal student loan debt will return to $1.6 trillion within five years, because it does nothing to solve the long-term problem." it's not just former administration executive officials who were democrats, and i don't want to step on you, but it's a whole host of democrats running for reelection, running for office. i look no further than congressman tim ryan running for senate in ohio, "sends the wrong message to millions of ohio

citizens." the problem is when we talk about moral hazard, it says to people who are responsible that they are now encouraged to be irresponsible. the message is if you are reckless, shirk your obligations, it pays for you, then we are going to jump in with a hand out and bail out, why play by the rules? part of it is getting people hooked on big government. they want you suckling, so to speak. >> we have these pictures, political playbook highlighted. these are so-called centrist democrats. i wouldn't necessarily call them that, but they've all come out against the plan in some form. you are trying to win back your far left, but might be losing people closer to the middle. >> they know what we all know.

we have heard about the social safety net. this is the country club safety net, people who are going to earn millions of dollars essentially getting welfare. people don't realize that we have been in the business of subsidizing these student loans for a long time. every time somebody defaults on their loan, you and i pick up the payments. the federal government does that, so $500 billion is nothing compared to what we ultimately paid, but as nicole said yesterday, talking about if you've had to repay your student loans. my father is a mechanic, my mother was a secretary who worked double shifts to put me through school. had they known something like this was going on -- imagine the lack of initiative, entrepreneurship, the vision that may have happened as a result. we need people to be hungry enough to claw their way out of their current circumstances and give their kids a better way, but people should do that, not the government. the government should be helping

businesses thrive, not these bureaucrats. this is a handout for biden supporters. >> i save this for you, because yesterday he talked about the $300,000 in student loan debt that you repay diligently -- and your kids, who likewise were borrowers. this is likely for the education secretary -- and he addresses you, doctor. >> the people that already paid their student loans, they don't get anything out of this deal. okay. [laughter] >> it took me about ten years to pay off about $300,000 of debt i incurred, just enough time to put my oldest son through college. he will not have debts because i was able to save to do that. adding on to what -- people are making seven figures right now who have not had to pay their student loans because we have continued pausing. unfortunately, every dollar

taken away, the high income earning professionals saying that you don't have to pay, they could be going to people who are struggling to pay their rent, their children's food, everything else. it's not fair and continues to widen that wage gap. the quality of the jake tate -- -- -- the quality of education and universities -- you can really see here, it's not the college education that has that earning potential peer the top half of people in their high school class will probably do just as fine as the bottom half of people who get their undergraduate degree, so we need to stop focusing on this education people are getting with these undergrads, overpriced educations. people -- we need to work to make sure they are no longer accruing this debt, where they won't even have a higher income. i think it's happening by allowing these professionals to

have some of their debt taken away. kennedy mentioned $125,000, if you make that you get $10,000, but it's also $250,000 to for a dual income house, so you could have a physician/lawyer/pharmacist who has a wife who chooses not to work, or vice versa. they also get some of that debt taken away. it's not fair for the people -- >> take a look through this, fishing for a sound a sound bite. >> i just wonder -- how do you feel about the chances of the democrats holding onto the senate? >> i'm liking it. i'm liking it. , today, is expected to become the first state in the nation to formally ban the sale of gas powered vehicles. every new passenger vehicles sold in that state is required to be zero missions by 2035. it will be voted on by the california air and resources board later today, one member telling fox news it's certain to pass. about a dozen others say that the accounting for about one-third of all car sales nationally will follow california's lead, a huge blow to makers of gasoline powered vehicles: cars, trucks, you name it. kennedy, we don't have the materials to pull this off. >> we don't, and california does not have the power grid to pull this off. it's so incredibly strained, and

the resources for the energy cartels in california are totally outdated, so they can't support an entire generation of all electric vehicles. need to provide basic electricity to californians who have gas powered cars as it is. i grew up like you, huffing gas at the race track, watching sports, motorcross, lacrosse, all sorts of races. what are they going to do? never going to want to go to california. are you going to push it so far that -- the nascar race? "hold on, i know i'm in the lead but i have to pit for four hours to juice up." there are two nascar races here. even now, it has fake engine noise to make you feel like you can hear the engine when you can't.

the one thing about this is if your goal is to reduce admissions, you could tax the living you know what out of gasoline, and that would automatically force people into electric cars. they always put the burden on the auto manufacturer to hide -- it's disruptive to the economy. >> they wanted part of that same resupply. it's not going to work. i took environmental law during my time in law school. this special status, where the rest of the country has this clean air act, passed by congress, but california is doing their own thing, and other states are allowed to follow california, but the republican attorneys general has sued, saying "you can't have this special status, california, where you do things like this." it could be rolled back, but if

tax gasoline powered vehicles, tax gasoline. what happens in california is that gasoline prices would plummet, but them, people are hanging on to their old internal combustion engines, so california winds up polluting the planet, because people won't get rid of their old cars. >> or they will just go online and buy a car from any of the surrounding states, have it shipped in. listen, the only people that are going to benefit from this is china, because that's where the majority of electric vehicles are made. they don't have the power grid to support this endeavor, and let's be honest: why don't they just commit? if you are going to drive an electric car, maybe it should be solar or wind powered. why not take it to the other end of the ring? this really only benefits china.

the approval of the biden administration, democratic party, is on the floor because of this elitist attitude. think about florida during the entirety of the pandemic. in the beginning, there was a lot of criticism of governor ron desantis and how he was handling things. oh, by the way, he might have gotten it right. i wouldn't say there's hate in people's heart that her supporters, but i would say that they are angry with the way things have been handled, angry about how this has affected their livelihoods, from the economy, to the supply chain. ukraine, afghanistan, gas prices, anything else that's continuing to happen under this biden administration. they are frustrated and want change. >> chris is on a battlefield called love. >> he is on the battlefield of hate. i am on the battlefield of love.

country, letting them have their property back. a unity costs something. it does not mean demonizing half of your citizenry. to try to call ron desantis a wannabe dictator, he has ruled in the opposite direction, allowing people to decide whether to keep their businesses open, vaccinate their children. that's called liberty and freedom, and apparently, despite his big loving heart, he doesn't quite get it. >> he might be dismayed to find that the so-called haters have increased in florida. look at the numbers from their election website. 2019, democrats outpaced republicans and registration by about a quarter of a million. you can see that flip to 2022, where republicans are out registering democrats by about a quarter of a million. we may want to toe it down a little. >> and florida has become a very attractive state for people seeking freedom from places like new york, new jersey, and california, where they lived

parental permission -- is not required for children choosing to change their pronouns in one virginia school district. they are mandating a training program for teachers to enforce the policy. one training slide, like things like asking to use a private bathroom or locker room that corresponds with a student's identifying gender, not shared with the parents. in another slide, it shows how a child could change their name, and parents not getting a say on any of it. we've seen this not just in virginia but in new jersey. pull up their state policy in new jersey, a school -- parental consent is not req required. it seems that parents are

secondary to teachers and education. >> they are taking back this issue, one of the top political issues they are voting on. they have been galvanized. things like this, which may seem like a wonderful, feel-good policy, is actually a gift to the school choice movement. i want to say thank you to fairfax county, because you are getting nonpolitical parents involved in this for the first time. they are running for school boards and are invested in their local races, because they want to make sure they have a say, because they have been pushed out of education for long enough. some parents want their kids to learn math, reading, how to write and become critical thinkers. >> taking this in virginia, did fairfax county of all places not learned when -- was losing to a republican, on the issue of education, did they not pay attention? >> it's a little liberal blue marble onto itself, but i can

read this a different way. if a kid says "i want to be called this," the teacher can't say anything. i did that when i was a kid. my first name is mary. i went to school one day, and the kindergarten teacher -- mary mary contrary --" some of it, and i encourage kids to go in and say "i want to be called aloysius snuffle if it gets, or dale earnhardt." in some way, this can help prevent teachers from this and encouraging, because it's up to the kid, not the teacher. >> the secrecy policies are problematic. you have a lawsuit in california here, did not know that her daughter was going by a different pronoun. then they go down to florida,

clay county last week, the lawsuit brought to my attention by a parent who said "we did not learn our daughter was being told to go by different pronoun until we learned about two suicide attempts. the point is, something is wrong. parents are learning about suicide attempts only after years of struggling with gender identity. >> the teachers union, educators in general, are finding their best to separate their children from their parents, trying to take away any power and decision-making -- teachers union and their lobby powerhouses. an issue i had with this is that parents need to be involved. need to task for my kids for a museum, but don't need to sign a permission slip for them to change their name, their gender identity, or if they are seeking help for mental health crises. that's a huge problem.

if there are concerns, there are social services that can get involved, but you can't exclude the parents. it's their legal rights. on top of that, i have a young boy who wanted to be called pikachu for the last six months, but just because he wants to be called the pikachu doesn't mean that he is, and it doesn't mean at school that he can go there and say he is. they can't just say what they want. i understand what you're saying in terms of wanting to be called a different thing, but at my kids school at the beginning of the school year they say legal name, what does your child like to be called." that's a conversation between the parent and the child. >> i want you to be called cletus. vindication for the parental bill of rights bill that became law this spring, criticized widely in the national press. you remember. >> absolutely. as you referenced earlier, there is a political hot potato, but it runs in the republicans direction. fairfax county school is worried about iniquity. the inequity is that parents are being separated from the emotional and intimate lives of their children, and the school was trying to separate them. that's a no-go. as not going to work. heard of cars for kids? this is bec cause for kids. teach them reading and writing, when those levels are as deplorable as they are across the country, do that. pronouns can get sorted out at home come up between the parent and teacher, even if they want to be called pikachu. >> i wanted to be a cowgirl growing up. >> i wanted to be count dracula.
