jon: you wrapping up an emergency meeting as israel's war cabinet wages a response to unprecedented direct attack. good evening i am jon scott this is a special two hour edition of the fox report. world leaders are condemning iran's launch of hundreds of drones and missiles overnight in an emergency group of seven video conference convened by president biden. meanwhile here at home lawmakers are reacting to the president's handling of the situation. >> what we are witnessing today as we are seeing joe biden to bend over backwards to pander to the hamas wing of the democrat party. we have gone from peace through strength to war through weakness because of the white house where they are weak on all these issues. >> it really demonstrates how it

jon: no decision from israels war cabinet on how to respond to it last night's iranian attack. the cabinet promises a response will come purportedly is divided on when and on what scale. many israeli soldiers are waiting for orders. one of them is rudy rockman idf paratrooper who left the united states to return to israel to fight on the front lines. he joins us now. give us your gut reaction to what happened last night. >> thank you for having me. it's been a little over six months since october 7 my unit was called back into war. we fought a little over two months since we got and out of gaza. less than 24 hours ago is

driving from tel aviv to jerusalem and saw many drones and missiles exploding above our heads. it is not new to us that we are under attack but we need to learn the lesson from what we learned on october 7. when you have an army that has the capability and the intention to attack your people we need to tilt the prompts before the deal for us. israelis do not have fear. most of us are living our day-to-day lives. we are used to being attacked this is the message of the jews in the world out there that are afraid in these moments not to be afraid and we need to start defending ourselves and take care of our problems like i said before they start taking care of us. jon: in terms of a reaction from your government, your military what would you like to see directed to iran? >> i would not like to see people attack this is not a war between the iranian people than jewish people. the persian people historically great relations with the juice and also before the fall of the shop the ar arena pupa good relations with our people and i hope that one day will see united middle east where israel

can see that reality again as well. i would like to see a removal of the regime that is taken over the iranian people and has caused threats and deaths all throughout the region but a removal of hezbollah a removal of hamas privy to attack the problem and its source and not just of the symptoms. obviously wars going to lead to people dying on both sides if there's a war i'm going to fight with my friends, with my unit on the front lines of that war which is what i try to do every single day is to prevent us from getting into the war but in order to prevent it we need to go to the source and remove those who are responsible for committing deaths on both sides but work has been more than six months si and since the hamas a terrorist streamed across the border into israel and killed more than 1000 of your people kidnapped others. there's an awful lot of criticism of israel in the world right now based on the destruction and gaza. how do you answer that criticism? >> i served in gaza and i can only speak about what i see.

what we see from the enemy nations against israel whether it is hamas, hezbollah, iran, they attack civilians. they target civilians those drones and missiles shot on israel yesterday were all targeted toward civilians hamas killed siblings or shooting rockets they are shooting at civilians, w when hezbollah shot rockets from the north there shooting at civilians when israel's fighting back at hamas or hezbollah it's only striking military sites. they are tactics because they know they cannot win a physical wars to place their civilians amongst their militants to increase not only the amount of israelite citizens that are killed but the amount of palestinians killed in order to use their death as political ammunition and to convince the world israel is wrong. but i have seen israel sent everything it can to prevent civilian casualties there are civilians who have died, of course. is that horrible question rick of course it is we cannot just talk about what is happening we have to talk about why it is happening. why is it happening because hamas is attacked israel using

it civilians as human shields are people are triggered by this term it is the reality of what is happening. i personally saw drones looking at hamas a terrorist going from one tunnel to a school partaking in children and next to them in order to prevent them from being killed or if they were to be killed children would die next to them. why did they do this question in order to increase the civilian death to sell this image to the world and play on their feelings. to feel on the compassion the world has for human lives. we all care about human lives we do not want to see death but if you want to guilty probably have to go to its source. idf paratrooper in israel right now. we thank you. correct thank you. love more in the aftermath of iran's unprecedented attack on israel would we return.i ♪he my grandchildren, they're sixth generation of dancers. it's what my family is all about. i thought i knew a lot about our irish roots.

individual just over a week ago is not only responsible for planning and conduct of october 7 the groups responsible for it, he is also responsible for the attack on the militia that killed three american service members and jordan just a few months ago. the individual in question certainly had it coming. and at the end of the day it's a long train of actions and provocations is not a response operation i is an escalation. for this point forward is going to get a lot more difficult to control special united states does not close ranks of israel. >> the united states has said it is not going to assist israel in any kind of response. you think that is appropriate or should the president leave that a little more vague? >> urgently making it a public statement makes very little sense and does nothing but encourage our adversaries iran and others frankly. it is the wrong answer from a material standpoint because again were facing a common threat.

but, you know how these things go farther back channel congratulations i guess or maybe messages the saudi's and a radiiranians and generally are t friendly. >> oh no, they are absently not. i would say two things but first there is a tremendous fear across the region for there's been uncertainty and there has been a great deal of apprehension about the escalation potential in the region. without the united states to work together partners and allies in the region to confront this threat from iran, everyone is deathly afraid original conflict is going to get much much worse before it gets any better and i think that's actually true. again i think it makes sense for united states to partner with israel and the allies in order to close the store and allow that to be restored to make sure you have a repeat. jon: let's hope we don't. robert greenway, thank you. >> thank you. jon: would back in just a moment. line, we do them this way.

week. meteorologist adam klotz is here with your "fox weather" forecast. >> a lot of folks were able to do that, look at these temperatures across the country here on the sunday per l a lot f spot in the middle '80s feel incredibly warm. ultimately that he is going to turn into severe thunderstorms. for your sunday, largely clear one spot we are tracking some severe thunderstorms and severe weather is sweeping across pennsylvania as we speak each one of the yellow boxes is a severe thunderstorm. by tomorrow getting into tuesday we shifted back to the middle of the country. we are looking at two areas you see the maroon color very likely you see severe weather particularly in the afternoon hours. you are looking at areas of north texas up into oklahoma. a second location a little further north across the plains really into mostly nebraska stretching down into kansas as well. lincoln, over towards omaha, some years you see big weather tomorrow. now tornadoes are going to be a possibility for you to see that on the lowest and up our

concerns. more likely these be big thunderstorms with really strong wind and hail. when you start to see the hatched regent here everything and those hatching colors who are looking at potential hail up to 2 inches but that is enough to do serious damage across the region. as you can tell this is a really large area pretty otherwise straight-line winds you talk about big thunderstorms like this will be at issue. sixty and 70 mile-per-hour winds could certainly do some damage. forecast for monday. you run into tuesday we are looking at m maybe similar areas but shifting is just a little further off to the east. certainly some these threats will be the same. we are looking again for your forecast on tuesday. getting up a little further north stretching a little further east. the ingredients are out there for intersect at highs in the 80s, it is april this is the kind of weather we can expect. jon: and that we are in for some rain in new york city tonight to, as well adam. i will get the umbrella. >> you've got it.

gorilla is celebrating the 67th birthday at a zoo in berlin. she got a fruity treat for the vacation she was born all the way back in 1957 in move to the berlin zoo in 1974, she is been the oldest living known gorilla in the world since 2019. a tiger at the oakland zoo gets a new toy. lola was playing a little aggressively with the squishy beanbag chair. she's been living the good life in california after she was rescued back in 2022 from an abandoned roadside zoo and oklahoma. we do not know the condition of the beanbag chair however. a true story i was on a story one time and bitten by a baby tiger. >> true story, it hurt. >> was acute. >> i don't think it meant to bite me.
