cell phones charged. >> first responders urged the public to get ready for the next storm. pgd now graces to complete emergency work on a gas pipeline, remised by a landslide. good evening and thank you for joining us. advice and ways to prepare us for even more rain just ahead. first we get a check with spencer christian to give an idea of the timing and how much we will get this time. >> we will have quite a bit of rain falling in the bay area, let me start with live doppler 7 to show you how calm conditions are. there is no rainfall in the bay area, nothing strong yet, but the approaching storm on the storm impact scale will be a level two. i want to point out that late tomorrow night, when light rain begins to fall in the north bay, it will be a little one. but this will quickly intensify by about midnight and into early tuesday morning, with periods of heavy weight, heaviest in the morning hours, low snow levels

southbound highway 10 one, a closed portion has reopened after pgd successfully completed the delicate job of rerouting an underground gas pipeline around this landslide in novato. it's still moving. crews cut through highway 1012 late the bypass in the median divide, then back across the midway. the >> the pipe was not damaged in the event, but understanding that we have additional weather systems coming our way in the days ahead, we wanted to put contingency plans in order to ensure consent -- continued delivery of the utilities to our county. >> a new storm could bring too much of what we have already seen the season, flooding and down trays. many in the bay area are suffering from storm intake. >> we are just concerned that the public is just getting a little bit numb to the hazards and the risks that these storms pose. it's kind of become business as

more trees falling. this is a tree that fell in january. crews have removed more than 13,000 trees that have damaged infrastructure since the first atmospheric river on new year's eve. arborists tell the chronicle that taller, denser trees with denser crowns are more prone to fall. warning signs include cracks around the room, the tree leaving or a new mound of soil. the western tree failure database shows the most common trees have fallen in the bay area having to be oaks, eucalyptus, psych -- cyprus and monterey pine. a berkeley sandwich shop is out tens of thousands of dollars because of the last storm. it knocked out power for four- o spoil. e and it o they lost thousands of pounds of brisket for pastrami. $20,000 is

from near gilroy, a daylong standoff with an armed man has ended with a shootout. the armed suspect has been wounded, and a sheriff's deputy from santa clara county has been hit with a ricocheted around, also injured. all of this is happening at home -- on brighton avenue, near an unincorporated santa clara county with the deputy sheriffs responded at 8:00 in the morning. in just the last hour, our on the scene spotted heavy black smoke in the area where that's at happening. kathy fire fighters were escorted into the scene. we also saw an ambulance being taken in. sheriffs deputies say a moment and said fired shots at the deputies this morning but no one was hurt then. this afternoon, there was another exchange of gunfire. the sheriffs office just gave us an update. >> one officer from a neighboring law enforcement agency fired one shot and start the suspect. i did not have the name of the law-enforcement agency that shot
