heat stress. >> the underwater issue ringing alarms for at least 53 countries, territories or local economies as more than half the world's coral reef areas have seen bleaching in the last year, including parts of florida where last year a heat wave in florida spurred an unprecedented coral bleaching event. however, there is some hope, noaa says corals can recuperate if the strain on their ecosystems is reduced, scientists saying now is the time to lean into solutions to fight climate change. trying to find ways to reduce some of our carbon emissions, increase our energy efficiency. noaa has enacted efforts to try and save coral reefs, recently starting the iconic reefs program that moves coral nurseries to deeper, cooler waters and deploy sunshades to protect corals in other areas. melissa don, abc news, los angeles. >> all right, time to find out how long this warm weather is hanging around. >> yeah. meteorologist sandyha patel is back. hi, sandy. hi, there.

>> yeah, and dan and emma, you have a few more days to enjoy the warmth. i want to show you the calendar for the rain. san francisco last month. yes, we had some rainy days. if you count there, there will be about nine days there that we had some rain a little bit above average in terms of rainfall this month. only three days of rain so far. but i think because we've had some productive winter months, people are getting fatigued and they want sunshine. well, i tell you what, you don't have to worry about any rain on live doppler seven right now is just clouds. and we do have a mix of sun and high clouds coming your way tomorrow. even warmer than today, mid 60s to the low 80s. on thursday we'll hang on to the warmth inland, but the coast and the bay begin to see a drop off in those temperatures. and then all areas will come down on friday as our marine influence kicks in. the accuweather seven day forecast warming trend continues tomorrow. low 80s inland. really nice looking weather by the end of the workweek, temperatures come down and then just in time for the weekend, they bounce back with plenty of sun. it is going to be dry heading into early next

6:53 pm
welcome to sports live from golden one center, site of tonight's nba play in tournament game between the warriors and the kings. both teams just took the floor. and i can tell you right now, this building is shaking. it's so loud. they are ready for a huge game tonight. an elimination game tonight. but we'll take you back to last year stephen curry. we remember what he did in this very building in game seven of the first round series. how about 50 points leading the warriors to a series win right here in sacramento. and the kings would like to get some revenge. but they come with some key injuries tonight. no malik monk no kevin huerter for sacramento gary payton the second will miss for golden state. now playing an elimination game on the road. nothing new for this group of warriors. you know our guys have seen it all. >> obviously our our core group and they've basically been in
6:54 pm
the exact same situation in this building a year ago in game seven. so, i'm very confident that our, our players are, ready to go and they'll be they'll be confident and excited when they're out there. >> obviously, three hall of famers, a hall of fame coach. half their team, it seems like, if not more, has at least won one championship. their core is one four or something like that. so they've played in many like this. >> there's some unknowns on both sides, but the known is, the, the core guys who were in that series last year, we played each other four times a year, like we know each other pretty well. coaching staffs know them, so know each other really well. so adds a little another dynamic to it, but it should be fun. >> you want to do everything you can to prepare to win the game and obviously you do that in a seven game series as well. but tonight the stakes are a little higher and we understand that. and you know, i never played in
6:55 pm
the ncaa tournament. so this one and done format is kind of making up for it for me. so i'm excited for the challenge. >> the early game tonight feature the lakers and pelicans in new orleans. now the winner of this game will face the loser of that game. let's go to some in-progress highlights from the big easy. some big time entertainment in the big easy. good stuff right there. early on first quarter zion williamson, the two handed hammer. so nice. we show it twice. second quarter though. lakers up one lebron james is a freight train. lakers had a ten point lead at the half. third quarter extending the lead lbj such a great passer to austin reaves with the reverse. lay in. lakers up seven after three in at last check. we're tied 95 all in the fourth. remember the winner of this game will face the loser of that game on friday. all right some baseball before we go. giants in miami scoreless in the second inning. it's matt chapman getting all of that one solo shot to left center. fourth of the year one nothing. san francisco bottom of the sixth.

bases loaded full of marlins three two game luis arraez singles to left off taylor rogers two run score and the marlins win it, six three. rubber match in miami tomorrow sports on abc seven is sponsored by your northern california honda dealers. doing my best not to yell and or run through a wall, because i'll tell you what, i'm so fired up i feel like i could do anything right now. >> it's going to be really exciting tonight. chris. obviously you know the teams, as steph said, know each other very well. what are you looking for tonight? >> i think for the warriors you're looking for keep control and don't have turnovers. and if steph and curry can get loose that's what you want to do. limit the turnovers. score at least one more point then because three of the four matches went down to one point. so you just need a couple more points. and these teams are very evenly matched. but the injuries the warriors are a lot healthier. so that should play a factor. and coach kerr said these guys know how to do on the road. they've won championship on the road. this is nothing new for them. king still trying to get to that level so the warriors hoping championship
