it's a big, big wedding for kim and kanye. >> allegedly. still don't know the details. >> they're in paris. documented photographs and video of all of them including kris and bruce and the kids. anyway, it is supposedly taking place -- bruce is rocking a ponytail for the wedding. what do you think of the look? >> you know what? i met bruce when he won the decathlon, you know, in 1976. >> before all that. >> yeah. and i'm telling you right now, he was one of the most gorgeous men on the planet. and he told me years later that it was a manager, right after that, that told him he needed to have surgery. for what? >> to do commercials. if he was going to have an acting career. >> you know what's funny? he may have been a little bit flawed, but he was rugged and he looked like himself. >> he was gorgeous. he had dyslexia as a child. he had learning -- so he was insecure, so he listened to somebody that he felt was smarter than he was. and that's what started the whole thing. but you know what? i love bruce. he is so much fun. he's a good guy. and his life is his own. >> yes, so there. >> yeah.

>> whatever. anyway, so they're all in paris. we don't know what the dress is, but we have seen some dresses arrive. valentino bags, et cetera, et cetera. there's a lot of speculation as to what her dress is going to be. and three dregsses, they're saying. >> three dresses? and they handed out, apparently with the invitations came a cell phone. you're not supposed to use your own. in the cell phone when you arrive in paris you're supposed to open your phone because maybe it's a flip phone. maybe you flip it open and they tell you what's going to be happening. some say they're going to go to italy for a reception. we don't know. >> we don't know. >> but all access and all those guys are all camped out and waiting to see what's happening next. >> okay. everybody supposedly is in paris by tomorrow. >> right. >> okay. do you think it's okay to ban social media from weddings? >> a lot of brides are doing that. >> people want -- they want control of their big day. >> and they want to be able to share news.

i do think what's happening now with all the social media, and it happens to me on a small level every day, is you post something you that happened to -- like you're at a great dynamic speech. and you happen to be just having -- at a lunch speech and you'll tape a little bit of it and you'll post it and i'll call karen and go oh, my god, i saw the best speaker. she goes, oh, yeah, yeah, i saw it on your facebook. oh. okay. and you feel like you don't want to tell it again. or i was walking by fordham. there was a graduate. he was so cute. he had his cap and gown. i was like oh, my god, look at, that click. i snapped it and posted it on twitter and i was, like, was walking by fordham and she was, like yeah, you saw that graduate. i know. >> so don't do it. >> i know. i'm addicted. it takes the fun out of it. it's impossible. they say lot of brides to be would rather -- >> you've pointed out that you go to these unbelievable sara bareilles concert you're at the concert but you're watching it -- >> through a baby screen. i know. look at the concerts here. it happens everywhere.

things are looking up. you've got to see this adorable and inspiring video. >> this is a baby goat named frosty. and it's from australia. the baby has some sort of a life-threatening infection and it makes the back legs unusable. so do you know what these wonderful people at this sanctuary did? >> edgar's mission farm sanctuary. >> that's the sanctuary. >> look at it. >> they hooked him up and they say the more he moves, as he's wheeling that cart, it may actually beat the infection. he's on antibiotics and they need to get him exercising. look what's happening. he's like, what up? keep going. look at this. >> aw. the more he exercises, the more -- >> he's saying thank you. >> oh, my gosh. >> no, it does, it breaks your heart. it's so sweet. >> but, you know what, that's -- the good news is the more he exercises, the more antibiotics work through the system and the infection -- >> we're going to follow up on this. aren't we, joanne? >> there's so much bad news in the world that when you see

ribisi. and amanda seyfried. just this crazy ensemble of talented people. to be asked to join it was great. and to get to play this kind of elitist eyebrow raisey kind of character, that was fun too. >> you're busy all the time. you're on broadway right now. >> on broadway. >> how is that going? >> great, yeah. the show is called "hedwig and the angry inch." it's at the biloxi theater. it's this crazy rock and roll musical with no intermission. it's 100 minutes, it's loud, and it's very kind of transformational. i play such an extreme version of a woman who's trying to be successful and explain herself and her lack of love and her speaking completion. and in doing so, i just get to really not be myself for a while. >> you do it in platform heels too. >> 4 1/2-inch platforms. yeah. i start the show in a wig, with another wig, and then third wig on top of that and i'm wearing that outfit and another outfit on top of that and there is other outfits underneath that.

it's her last day in new york, so a glam day in new york is a perfect souvenir to take home. let's listen to her story. >> so nice to be here with your entire gorgeous family. you were so excited when we picked you. screaming, yelling. why are you so excited about this? >> i brought my family to new york to celebrate my husband's graduation. i can't believe we got on tv. we were so excited to come visit the "today" show. so here we are. it's happening. >> you're going to be gorgeous. and a.j. and john, what do you think about this? >> she's beautiful. >> aw. not even rehearsed. what do you think, a.j.? >> um. >> you really liked "wicked"? is that what you think? >> yes. >> yeah. all right. here we go. we're going to take good care of you. >> wonderful. >> all right. she's here with her husband, dwayne, her mom, brenda, and we just met the kids. >> cute kids. >> very cute. let's look at her before and bring out the new sarah. keep on your blinds, please. >> oh, wow. wow. all right, everybody. take them off.

brenda michaels wrote in to tell us about her battles with cancer after being diagnosed with the disease three times. >> brenda's struggles almost left her defeated. but in the end taught her some important life lessons. we're going to speak with brenda in just a moment. but first, let's hear her story. >> at age 26, i was given a very unusual gift -- cancer. i'm not saying this to make light of what appeared to be really an early death sentence, cancer devastated my life. my marriage was ripped apart. and our meager finances were drained away faster than anyone could have imagined. over the course of 14 years, cancer claimed my entire reproductive system, both my breasts, and left me with a prognosis of a year to live. now, cancer ushered in one of most difficult periods of my life. but it also ignited one of the most profound. having cancer left me stranded

in a place where no doctor had the ability to save me. but it led me to the truth of who i am and the realization that only i possessed the power to save myself. looking honestly at my life, i realized that the pain and struggle that i had been living had been central theme in my life. after years of living this way, i was exhausted. i started to believe that life wasn't worth living. then without warning came my third diagnosis of cancer. and immediately the words careful what you wish for flashed through my mind. but you know when it came down to it, i really wanted to live. i started to ask questions i never asked before. by embracing my cancer as a teacher from which to learn, i was able to transform my relationship to my illness and that made it possible for total healing to occur. it's been 24 years since i was given a year to live.

and since that time, i've continued to appreciate my life. >> wow. >> what a lovely speaking voice you have, brenda. >> thank you. >> yeah, you just got us right into your story just like your letter did. well done. >> to think about having the diagnosis once, that lays you flat on your back. when they did come again and again, did you just think to yourself, like what in the heck is going on here or why me? what did you think? >> oh, yes. i thought many times why me? and had some pity parties. it's understandable. absolutely. scared to death, terrified. and i also really, in that story, it was so true, i was ready to give up. i really felt at one point that dying might be easier than living. >> and what helped you turn the corner? because there are people out there who are getting or have gotten a terrible diagnosis. >> and they're watching now. >> they're watching, yeah. >> my faith. and i didn't have that faith, by

the way, before this happened. but when things like that come into your life, it wakes you up. and that was my wake-up call. and i turned to faith. i turned to god. i turned to prayer. i turned to meditation. and i turned to going inward. >> and you changed your diet. >> i changed my diet. >> tell everybody about that. >> well, i changed my diet. i changed my whole life. i realized i was living a lifestyle that was conducive to this type of disease. i was in l.a., i was working on being an actress, and i was drinking and smoking and partying and not taking good care of myself. but more importantly, i was not happy. i was -- there was -- i had demons. lots of demons. and i realized when i got sick, i needed to heal those wounded places in me and if i could do that, i felt i had a real chance at life. >> and a new purpose. >> yes. >> for the first time maybe. >> yeah. >> that's just extraordinary. >> a lot of times when you feel crummy and you walk around with that dark cloud over your head,

it seems -- i don't know if there is any scientific proof for any of this stuff, but i feel like when you walk around with that dark cloud and stressed out, it almost acts like a catalyst for the illness. you know what i mean? you feel like it does. >> i've come to really believe in my life and feel that illness and disease serves a -- i mean, all tragedy serves a great purpose in our life, and even though it's so difficult to go through and painful, when you come out the other side you find the gift. and that's why i -- >> you called it the unusual gift. >> right. and why i wrote the book "the gift of cancer," along with my good co-writer marcia mccann. >> we didn't know about that. >> what did you find? >> what did i find? >> yeah. >> the gift? oh, my gosh. i got a life back. i got a different life back. i found a healthy me. i found a stronger me. i found -- >> you found the real you. >> yes, yes. and i found a happier me. >> you are the greatest advertisement for your own lifesty
