payment pause for more months. but no final decision has been made yet a white house spokesperson saying that the administration has already canceled around $32 billion in debt for more than 1.6 million american, adding that that is more than any other administration in history. the anticipated announcement comes as mr. biden is facing criticism from student debt relief advocates over his lengthy decision-making process, leaving millions in limbo over whether they would need to resume payments at the end of the month. a record 45 million americans have student loan debt as of the second quarter of this year it totals to more than $1.7 trillion. according to a democrat familiar with the matter, senate majority leader chuck schumer spoke with the president over the phone to make a final push to the president to cancel as much student loan debt as he can. while it does appear that mr. biden will follow through on his

the other 39 states do not u.s. federal law allows workers to take leave. it has mostly increased with a drop during the 2008 and 2009 economic crisis. the study shows compared to 2007, nearly twice as many companies offered the leave. during the pandemic it tripled >> they have options and their priorities have shifted. and when you have many employers wanting to transition back to pre-pandemic systems and costs and benefits, there's going to be a tug-of-war that shakes out and we'll be watching that happen >> reporter: but for some workers finding their benefits cut back, it's top of mind
