to today's anniversary. and the largest chinese new year's parade moments away in san francisco. the year of the dragon kicks in high gear. we begin with breaking news out of south carolina. nbc is projecting former president donald trump has won that state's primary. beating out nikki haley in her on home state. the dell kates are split between the winner and the winner of each congressional district. haley served as the state's governor from 2011 to 2017. she vow ready to stay in the race through super tuesday, march 5th. we will have more on that in just moments. the news at 5:00 starts

right now. thanks for joining us. i'm terry mcsweeney. >> it is the biggest new year's parade in the country and it's set to get under way moments from now, 14 minutes from now in san francisco. a live look at chinatown. oh, my goodness, i'm seeing all the pictures flood my social media. there are hundreds of thousands of people there. helped usher in the year of the dragon, and teams started work on the 19 parade floats back in october. sfpd will have uniformed and plain clothed officers on the route, and they are asking goers to be aload. the last time the year of the dragon was in 2012. >> dragon is the most powerful sign in the chinese zodiac. others are all animals. >> the dragon zrents luck,

50s and a chance for low snow levels. a look at the closer changes ahead. and a look at the forecast coming up in 12 minutes. news in the newsroom a 16-year-old is dead following an early morning shooting. police responded to a scene at 5:00 this morning in antioch. investigators say she was shot inside a vehicle. he was taken to the hospital. and the shooting was two miles from where they found the similar. so far no word on an alist. a ceremony today to mark two years of russia's full scale invasion with ukraine. the conflict that left more than 100,000 dead. kyiv, justin trudeau and italian

knall vanney was expected to run against putin, and yesterday, they issued hundreds of sanctions against russia in response. back to decision 2024, election day coming up in california. early voting under way. this is san francisco city hall today. voters can drop off a ballot or mail it in person. the voting center is open weekdays 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. you can drop by this weekend or next weekend. 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on tuesday, march 5th. the democrat katie porter hosted a meet and greet. event was co-hosted by the national union of health care workers that endorsed porter last year. adding they are spending millions of dollars spreading lies about her. >> i don't give a damn if it's

people gathers near oakland's square for fan fest. celebrating a's fans and oakland sports in general. >> the a's are once again not hosting a fan fest. but fan groups took it upon themselves to host their own. >> i think it's great. i'm glad that the people put it on for the fans. clearly, there are thousands of us still here. >> reporter: he came to oakland for fan fest. he sported a's gears and hopes there could be a message. >> they might want to stay here. because this is where the fans live and go to the games and support their teams. not, you know, in other cities like vegas or salt lake. >> reporter: the fan isn't hosting an official fan fest. the fan fest was organized by a

fooerld. low 60 frz france to hayward, and you will see the reason whee are warm tomorrow, we have clouds coming in, they will be mid and high level clouds, and filtered sunshine at times, and the morning commute. barack to rain at times. rain at times and older air will push the weather system out. rain totals will not be as extreme as they were last week, and picking up a tenth of an inch of rain, and along the coast, peninsula, and quarter inch to half inch of rain. bigger story is the cooler their will come in, highs in the 50s and late next week, big drop in temperatures. look at the bottom of the screen there, highs that were in the 60s and 70s this weekend will be in 40s and 50s next friday and saturday. this has a potential for a big
