thank you for joining us. >> getting right to those other stores in a minute. starting with breaking news out of san francisco where the has been a deadly crash in the city. >> we have been at the scene for the last few hours, she is joining us live with the latest developments. >> reporter: one of the really difficult the process details about the crash is that of the two people who died today, one of them is a child. the san francisco mayor came out here to the scene. she posted on social media noting that the scene was heartbreaking to look at and so many people who we saw here today felt the same way. we have seen people dropping to their knees offering prayers for the victims. people were totally distraught and torn up. behind us, where we are standing, the wreckage is remaining from the car that crashed with debris scattered all over the street.

this was around 12:15 this afternoon. at ulloa street and west portal avenue at the bus stop. a car was headed eastbound on ulloa and ran into the bus stop, four people were hit by the car, two people died at the scene. as of now we don't know how old the child was more that child's relationship to the other person who died. paramedics took three other people to the hospital, including the driver and the fire department has said they will be running blood testing on the driver, but they don't know what led up to the crash. they are still investigating. as you can see behind us, the wreckage of the car is still there and officials are working to get it moved out of the street, but this intersection has been blocked off for the whole day. initially train rails are being rerouted and so are people

police closed all lanes of 780 between columbus parkway and southampton. no one was hurt in the exchange. officers arrested two people and all lanes of the freeway reopened around 5:00 this morning. they are counting the votes from super tuesday but we have an update on one of the coast this race is in the senate, the runoff on the peninsula. look at the latest. the result of the race is for second place to see who will advance to the general election and you can see how close the race is. percentagewise they are the same, but this week santa clara county supervisor being passed up, but then he took back the lead. it is razor thin, he is up by 44 votes, the former san jose mayor has been the front-runner since election day with less than 1900 ballots left account and if possible one of the candidates may ask for a recount.

a stretch of 680 shut down for the weekend and if you have not run into it, look at the map. this part of 680 is closed until monday morning and shows you e closures and ways around it. if you need to drive in the tri- valley, get around the closure by taking eastbound 580 out to highway 84, the green down there or take westbound 580 to get to 880. south from contra costa you can take highway 24 to 0 to 880 and you can take i-80 to 882 avoid the cultural together. this happens the same weekend as the st. patrick's day celebration in dublin. now, we are showing you how the detours did not stop people from celebrating the luck of the irish. >> people grabbed a spot and put on green gear ready for the st. patrick's day parade. >> it is a sense of community.

murders he fled in a stolen car to a home in trenton, new jersey where he barricaded himself inside. he was eventually arrested without further incident. a runway crash in sacramento hurting two officers with dash cam from a passing car catching it on video. the car slamming head on into the patrol car in davis wednesday on the shoulder of i- 80. officers were in a patrol car with seatbelts on, the driver intentionally swerved, drove against traffic and slammed into the patrol car. the officers were taken to the hospital. no word on how they are doing. police arrested a driver after a crash in san jose. this just after 11:00 last night southbound 280. a call about the crash on the byrd avenue ramp, a man walked onto the highway and was hit by a car. the man died.

after we get out of the fog we are in the 70s for the inland valleys with upper 60s, nice near the coastline. sunny in the sierra so pack the sunscreen. there are no alerts to know about, it is a good travel weekend tomorrow and monday. changes are coming into later next week. now to the microclimate to see how temperatures are going as we prepare for sunday. changes through this evening, we are going down to the upper 50s, lower 60s in san jose so grab a jacket and then be careful for changes in visibility. 40s and 50s and then into the middle of the day, a lot of the yellow and green, not only for st. patrick's day, but with a few more mild temperatures coming. brentwood tomorrow 73, 10 degrees cooler in the city and 72 as you make your way into santa rosa. looking at the next second day

of the st. patrick's day celebration. if you did not catch it today, you can catch it tomorrow. for the parade and celebrations, bring sunglasses, short sleeve shirt, temperatures will be in the 70s as we go into the afternoon. looking into next week, we officially start spring on tuesday and in san jose over the next couple of days so we will start the work week nice and mild in the mid-70s. continuing with a trend of clear skies into the middle part of the week and then we are starting to cool down as we go into friday and saturday. we are hinting at the return of rain fall. it really will not come into the picture until at least friday night when we see this system develop and it is still putting itself together. the details on how much we will get, who will get the most and where this will arrive first. still working out, but we see this coming back into friday
