learning that one of the teachers used tape to tie up a two year old who refused to take a nap. we are live at the meeting going on right now at the church in pleasanton. >> we are devastated and >> police and school administrators say it's too early to tell what really happened, but interviews are now being conducted. school officials say it allegedly happened sometime in the past. but they only found out about it earlier this month. that's when the former teacher -- angela cal-cagno -showed a photo of the child to co-workers. and one of them happened to be the little girl's mother. she called police. new tonight at 8. kron 4's scott rates is live in pleasanton outside a meeting held for parents. new tonight at 8. kron 4's alecia reid went to the livermore neighborhood where angela cal-cagno lives. and talked to neighbors. developing right now-- a day-care teacher is behind bars tonight. accused of drugging children to get them to fall asleep. police arrested 59-year-old deborah gratz monday. and charged her with several counts of felony child endangerment. police say it happened at the kiddie academy child care facility on monterey road. in morgan hill. gratz was a full time teacher. she was fired friday after a colleague saw her put

something into the drinking cups of some children. and tonight. there's growing concern among parents at the school. kron four's rob fladeboe talks to parents about the charges. kiddie academy parent bianca flores says the news about what happened made her >> sick. >> reporter: flores says her 2-year-old son caleb suffers from seizures and while he wasn't in deborah gratz' class on friday, when the alleged drugging took place, he has been in her care on many other days. some parents expressed confidence in the kiddie academy, which issued a statement vowing cooperation with police, but others say this is news no parent wants to hear. bianca flores has pulled caleb out of school for now, saying he won't return until he's been checked out by a doctor. >> reporter: in morgan hill rob fladeboe kron 4 news. >> the day care facility released this statement today. saying "we take this matter very seriously. ms. gratz was terminated immediately for her actions. we are cooperating fully with authorities." >> the fire at berkeley's famous 'chez panisse' restaurant

has done a lot of damage -- and caused big delays in re-opening. the top rated dining spot is still closed. as chef alice waters and her team figure out what to do next. kron 4's justine waldman got a look inside the restaurant today - and shows us the damage >> "we are inside chez panisse the famous berkeley restaurant that caught on fire last week. this is supposed to be the main dining area, and instead of being filled with people enjoying delicious food there are fans trying to blow the smoky fire smell out." it is in the main dining room you can really see the extent of the damage. the popular place to celebrate anniversary's and birthdays. looks ruined, but not beyond repair. all the electrical wires are exposed. there is no power, only generators fueling light stands. and the cracked windows are covered. the kitchen is fine, just empty. outside, the front porch suffered the most damage. it is now boarded up and unsafe to be near. >> and this now is underneath the porch where investigators believe the

fire started you can see it is gutted and charred investigators still believe an electrical box like this one caught on fire setting the blaze. with all this wreckage chez panisse is cooking up a plan to rise from the ashesby cleaning up and getting ready to rebuild. >> we are making decisions about whether to open while we are still doing construction or whether to finish it and then open and how we can mitigate all that big puzzle that we are just piecing together but we are currently canceling all reservations 3 weeks out. >> reporter: while it has a long way to go. chez panisse promises it will be back, and better than ever.in berkeley justine waldman kron 4 news. >> catherine: benicia police are asking for public help in finding this man. 53-year-old arcelio cruz-- also know as r-c. he was last seen at his benicia home monday - just before midnight. he has medical problems - and is considered at risk cruz was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and brown boots.

surveillance video shows a missing woman last thursday morning. 31-year-old erica maskaleris was walking along 34th and telegraph in oakland. she's now been missing for 6-days. her brother talks about the last phone conversation they had. >> rework excited for her trip to come-we were excited. 2 co to come and visit me in dallas...".and we're going to find you." >> catherine: a one- thousand-dollar reward is now being offered in the case. r >> he was listed on oakland's most wanted criminal list. his name is chau van - but now. he's speaking out. claiming it's all a huge mistake. tonight, van is fighting back - filing a lawsuit

against the oakland police department. kron four's terisa estacio reports. >> reporter: chau van says the past year as been a nightmare. when all of a sudden he learned that he was on a list, this list naming him as one of allegedly being a involved in a gang related shooting. >> my name was everywhere. >> reporter: so in response he turned himself in. >> but they put me in jail. >> reporter: he sat for three days here at santa rita jail and then was released with police saying there wasn't enough to charge him. now he is charging back with force. filing a suit against the oakland police department.

>> we want to help him - this has been aggregious. >> reporter: van says he has been forced to move 3 times in the last year getting odd jobs like a cook. he was a former real estate consultant and web designer. >> do you feel the deparmtne can be trusted. >> no opd no response. terisa estacio, kron 4 news. >> this just in to the kron 4 news room a barge and oil pipeline are burning tonight in louisana.and the u.s. coast guard will not try to extinguish the large barge and pipeline fire that severely burned a man and put him in critical condition tuesday night. officials say the water is too shallow and the fire is too intense to put out. the depth of the water at the scene is 1 to 2 feet deep, according to the coast guard. the coast guard says it's unclear how long it will take the fire to burn out. the incident happened in bayou perot near the 4900 block of kenal road. all four people on the

vessel are accounted for, but one person was severely burned. he is being treated at the west jefferson medical center. officials with west jeff say the man suffered burns to over 75 percent of his body. he was being treated in the emergency room and will be transferred to the baton rouge general burn facility. he is in critical condition. a second passenger on the tug boat hurt his side when he was knocked off the boat. coast guard officials say there is currently crude oil in the water, though the amount is unknown. the tug boat was attached to a barge carrying 2,215 barrels of crude oil. officials believe the vessel may have hit a natural gas wellhead, but the official cause is still unknown >> jacqueline: 60s with 50s however, all along the coastline. cooler because of that fog that does not want to clear. take a live look outside of the golden gate bridge. the visibility is drastically reduced. it is just the immediate coast. it is fine for the bayshore but

hydrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and carbon... the basic chemical building blocks of life as we know it. they've also found mineral clay, basically dried out mud, which indicates that at some point in the distant pst, probably millions of years ago, this area was covered in fresh water. the water was fresh, not to salty or acidic.. that means that microbial life could have survived
