richmond. one car was hit but police say, the driver was not hurt. here in the breaking news center, we're tracking a deadly hit and run accident on the peninsula. about a half hour ago.the chp told us they just took a suspect into custody.a woman in her 30's.her name hasn't been released. she's suspected of hitting a man who had walked onto a lane of southbound 101 in san carlos. they say the pedestrian may have been intoxicated.but still.a car killed him.and did not stop. right now traffic is still heavy as investigators work the crime scene. this was near the brittan avenue exit. happened just after 6:30. the guy hit.a 45-year-old from redwood city. it's unclear why he made his way onto the freeway. his identity has not been released. we'll keep you posted. pam and steve. our other big story onight: the weather is drying up as we head into the holiday weekend. but we are still dealing with the aftermath of recent storms. some progress to report on highway 37 tonight. one eastbound lane is now open near highway 101. that area of the highway has been shutdown since wednesday. you can see in this video how much water covered the road. caltrans is hopeing to fully re- open the highway.sometime tomorrow morning.

sot- "it's an impending danger." on the ground -- nothing out of the ordinary. but look up. and, there's a problem. sot- "it's actually perilously hanging over the powerlines." jeff ammerman owns this property in lafayetee, and says an arborist checked this pine tree out last year and deemed it safe before removing another dangerous tree near ammerman's home. but it turns out -- the recent storms were stronger than expected. and, that resulted in the pine tree collapsing. sot- "and, its now propped up against a 100 foot tall eucalyptus tree." ammerman says the tree fell down at around eleven o'clock thursday night. and says he's fortunate that the tree fell into this eucalyptus tree and didn't cause any more damage.

that.and what the postal service is saying about the crime. i spoke to jeff fitch, pio for us postal service inspection as far as the idea of thieves using so called "master" keys to gain access to multi unit mailboxes that have been lost by the postal service. postal service thinks these are counterfeit keys that bad guys are using. he warns that this kind of crime is a serious federal crime and could lead to up to 10 years in federal prison. he says all postal carriers have a key that gains them access to multi unit mailboxes but these keys must be returned at the end of the carrier's shift. he also says these keys are only for certain areas, not a master key for all state of california mailboxes. he wouldn't say he thought

counterfeit keys are a "growing" problem but did say they made arrests in this kind of crime. hi stanley, i'm so happy you are doing the segment tonight on the mail theft. it is such a huge issue everywhere. there is a great video of a recent thief stealing from a cahill park cluster box.he even had a master key and you can clearly see his face, and even license plate.would you check out the video? tonight - a former east bay teacher is facing life in prison. ronald guinto was convicted of molesting more than a dozen victims over a perioid of several years. guinto worked as a sixth grade science and math teacher at making waves academy in richmond. police say he took boys between the ages of 11 and 13 on camping trips. where he sexually molested them. investigators say, guinto was planning another trip. and even made fake permission slips to give to parents. all before he was arrested. he will be sentenced in march in martinez. new at ten: police are asking for your help to find a missing teenage girl. >> pam:officers say, this teen on your screen 16-year-old jocelyn polk. was last seen heading towards lake merritt on monday. polk is five- feet- two -inches tall 150- pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

she was last seen wearing a pink sweather, light blue jeans, white shoes with a white back- pack. police believe she was headed towards a starbucks in the area. tonight we learning more about the emotional end to a shocking kidnapping case. the crime happened 18- years ago. a baby girl ripped from her mother's arms. just hours after she was born in a jacksonville hospital. "this is what we strive for. justice for victims no matter how long it takes." today in south carolina -- a teenager saying goodbye to the person she thought was her biological mother. tonight -- that woman -- 51=year old gloria williams is facing

"this is what we strive for. justice for victims no matter how long it takes." the emotional end to a very cold case in south carolina tonight. a young woman says goodbye to the woman she thought was her biological mother. that woman is now facing charges of kidnapping her as a newborn, 18 years ago. that would be the happiest thing in the world to hold my baby. nat july tenth, 1998. police on the grounds of the jacksonville, florida, hospital, where kamiyah mobley was born to a 15 year old mother at 6:55 a=m. eight hours later, a woman in blue hospital scrubs took the little girl from her mother's arms and disappeared, the only clues: the baby's d=n=a. a pair of tiny footprints and a composite drawing of a woman seen roaming the halls. in 18 years the cold case unit

followed thousands of tips. "late last year we received two informational leads that took us to walterboro south carolina. we found an 18 year old woman with the same date of birth but a different name. further investigation revealed that fraudulent documents had been used to establish that woman's identity jso investigators obtained a dna sample from her earler this week and last night we obtained conformation that the young woman we contacted in south carolina is in fact kamiyah mobley. "i just thank god because i prayed for this day. " kamiyah's grandmother says her daughter has talked to the young woman on facetime and says she looks just like her father. "i'm just so happy and i'll be glad when she gets here so we can celebrate." gloria williams was arrested at her south carolina home. the suspect is facing charges of of kidnapping and interfering with custody.

section of the park remains flooded following this week's storm "straight out here we have our oak point bathroom" east bay regional park rangers paula odrain and tony clark gave me a tour of the flooded area. ranger odrain is pointing out the top of what was the public restroom facilities "and it use to be surrounded by picnic tables and shoreline for fishing and now we have a flood that comes up to our lawn area" the water level is so high you can't even see the picnic tables
