the golden gate bridge where karl, the fog is sneaking back in. >> fog was here this morning in some spots and it has come back with a vengeance. lawrence is here to let us know when the rain will come. yeah, that fog going to be really rolling in tonight. getting thick in spots probably going to push all the way in the central valley. and that's because the atmosphere changing now high pressure kind of getting out of the way in. well, we're going to talk about the big change in the weather pattern right now. how about that? blue skies over san francisco just about as clear as it can get and looking good out there right now. little cooler in the san francisco today. the seabreeze has been blowing some 26 mile an hour winds in the san francisco right now. otherwise just a general sea breeze around the rest of the bay. are those winds, though, will be ramping up here in the next 24 hours as we just going to see a big change in the weather pattern. here comes one week cold front that was going fall apart as it moves on through. but that can open the door for the next one. now, just developing in the gulf of alaska. and that one is likely going to bring us some rain. so big changes in the pattern here as high
5:38 pm
pressure going to kind of scoot out of the way. see a couple of fronts out there in the middle of pacifica. watch is one just kind of fades away as runs the back side of the bridge. the jet stream starts to drop, though. it opens the door. here we go. a breezy conditions as we head throughout the day tomorrow, some partly cloudy skies starting out some fog low clouds in the morning and then some mid to high level clouds rolling in that rain going to be on the way to going to be pushing in as we head in toward thursday and maybe some snow, even our local mountains. how about that? you're going to see that here in just a moment. but temperatures for going to be a very cool to san francisco is going to be breezy, too, put on some mid 50's there about 63 degrees in oakland, mild. 67, partly cloudy and sounds they probably one of the warmer spots around the bay area, but things. yeah, they're about to change again. we've got some clouds are developing outside right now. there will be pushing it a little bit later on, but not right yet. in fact, looking very nice out of the golden gate bridge. you can see the sea breeze ball in flag around just a little bit outside right now. other than that. so far, so good. the big changes are on the way. we'll have more on that coming up in a few minutes.
5:39 pm
>> and florence city of san francisco is reporting 21,000 jobs were lost between december 2023. through this past february. the city says while a lot of these jobs are due to the end of seasonal employment during the holidays, many of the losses are from layoffs in the tech industry. the report also noted unemployment edged up to 3.8% and hiring trends steadily continue to decline. a newly proposed state bill could give workers in california uninterrupted personnel and family time. >> the bill introduced by san francisco assembly member matt haney would give employees the right to disconnect from emails, texts and calls after work hours. it would require all state employees to create a companywide plan to avoid contacting employees outside of work or face a fine. it does make exceptions for emergencies or to discuss scheduling and certain companies like people with unusual him. are on call.

employees may also be exempt. up next, bus. >> joins us live from chase. is step in the dubs. get ready to face luka and the mavericks with huge playoff implications will be back right after this.
5:41 pm
5:42 pm
>> all right. the warriors are in the stretch run of their season. just 8 regular season games remain and every single one is going to matter. big for sports director jason dumas joining us live at chase center ahead. >> of the warriors game against dallas. jason, they need a w.
5:43 pm
>> yeah. they need a w and a lot of fans are annoyed that the warriors are even in this spot and it's easy. when you look at the standings you see where the warriors are as easy to think man has been a really mediocre season, you know, and that's not wrong necessarily, especially with the warriors who have created such a high standard over the last decade. but when you look a little closer at the standings in in between the lines, the warriors actually are playing all that they're 21 in 10 in their last 31 games. they've won 4 in a row. get they're on pace to win one more game than they won last year. and last year they finished in 6th place pretty comfortably. they didn't have to play in that way. right now they're in 10th place. so what does that tell you? i asked steve kerr that he said the western conference has been as good as ever. and probably been the best since he arrived in golden state. he told me that every team in the west seems like they are going
5:44 pm
for from top to bottom. so it's just very competitive. and teams are winning at a high rate. so that tells him that he can't be worried about the standings and checking every day. what's most important is that his team is playing its best basketball as it heads into the postseason. and think they're playing pretty well right i mean, winning 4 straight on the coming into tonight. i think the team >> performing well too. the situation that we're in, you know, that the play-in trying not only make the plan but hopefully improve our seeding as best we can and you never know. i'm good. even, you know, go higher than that. but we just every game's important in our way. and we're we we were playing with a sense of urgency, which we need to.
5:45 pm
>> that sense of urgency is really what they need. and i know it's kind of jarring to warriors fans when they just look at the standings and you're like, man, they are playing for a play-in spot. we're not used to that. but the reality of the situation is the warriors don't have much room for error as they used to in the past. guys are a little older and likes depot. me. the western conference is just that much better now as it comes injuries. klay thompson, he will play tonight. he had been out with some 10 tonight jonathan kuminga will miss his 4th straight game. but good news on that front. steeper did tell us he will play on thursday in houston. he had 3 on 3 and he worked out a little earlier today and his responded well, but rick, celebrating warriors, director performance jonathan to sit out tonight and get a couple more days of rest to really see how that many reacted to the 303, workout today now will have one more pre-game report coming up in the 6 o'clock hour. but for now, that's all i have live from
5:46 pm
chase center. i'm jason dumas skies. all right. hope they can stay on this hot streak. j. >> appreciate it. hopefully draymond's on his best behavior and everybody's good. >> all right. wilson, fingers crossed. take a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza at this hour. not too many cars, but i feel as though they're starting to turn on those metering lights. you see some of them slowing. >> as they approach nice blue sky behind >> yeah. 7 o'clock tip for summer. they're about to might have more traffic as people come across the bridge. but it will be smooth sailing. weather wise, lawrence is here with a look at where things stand and how they're going to change. yeah, a nice night out there for tonight. that's for sure. the fog to start to creep back on shore. start to see some of that moving in along the coastline now. but we've got some major changes coming our way. we're going to go from some of these highs like today in the mid 70's or so. we're going to tough to get out the 50's in some parts as we head into thursday and maybe even some record cold temperatures out there right
5:47 pm
now. you've got blue skies out there toward the golden gate bridge are looking good so far. but things are about to change. some of that patchy fog are to begin to move in and it's going to slide all the way inside the bay in the interior valleys all the way in the central valley overnight tonight. tomorrow is really kind of a transitional day. so we've had a couple of nice days here together. but now tomorrow, partly cloudy, much cooler, especially along the coastline place is going to be affected by that sea breeze. then we get end of this week here. some wintry weather returns. we've got some cold showers, maybe even some snow on our local mountains. that's very impressive for april. temperatures out the door now, 57, half moon bay. still 73 in fremont 76th in pittsburgh to 74 degrees in saline up and 68 degrees right now in the battle. got a couple cold fronts out there. one just on approach here will bring us some clouds as we head in toward tomorrow. but this one behind that eventually push through. and that's going to be the one that will likely bring us some rain. fog moved off the coastline for the now. get ready to move back on shore. a couple patches along that the missile right now, but more that will be developing overnight tonight and tomorrow morning, you'll see it right here, pushing all
5:48 pm
the way into the bay in the central valley by tomorrow morning. there's your commute early on with plenty of clouds early and then by the afternoon that breeze kicks in a few mid to high level clouds start to roll in across the bay area and then as we get into thursday, well, this is where start to get fun back to showers. cold showers moving in and then you'll start to see some of these colors to begin to change. and we'll start to see maybe some mountain snow in the bay area this time of year. it's amazing, not hamilton. certainly the best chance to get some snow. that's one of the higher peaks here in the bay area. the long-range it's going to keep going here. we've got that system dropping right on the gulf of alaska may be some record breaking cold as we head in toward thursday and friday. more showers continue as we head toward the weekend. well, dry things out a bit on saturday. then a slight chance sprinkles we get into sunday. think next week start to dry things out. morsel and temperatures start to warm up. so here we go again, right? it's been kind of up and down here for quite a while. it is going to be going down again. we put a chance some mountain snow in the forecast for friday with some of those passing storms rolling on by and while shaking her head. she said this enough is enough, but can
5:49 pm
tell you branded it. now here's where it starts to get fund yeah. okay. >> yeah. 56 degrees. not really won't be long will be in that whole summer pattern of the morning. low clouds and fog. so this is enjoyable. it's a lot more work than i thought it was. all right. welcome >> today, jennifer siebel newsom and the governor's counsel for career education is meeting at sierra college in rockland following a full tour of cut. raw knicks department at the community college this morning, riley carroll sat down for a one-on-one interview with california's first partner. >> today first partner, jennifer siebel newsom and members of the governor's counsel for career education were able to come to sierra college and see the students working firsthand with real world technology learning quite literally how to build the future of california. >> so building the stem pipeline through programs like this and this what's here colleges doing needs to be
