station. this is home. at 11. now at 11 police in pacifica have released body camera video from the deadly shooting last week. there. >> officer shot and killed a mom who they say had just shot and injured her son. good evening. thanks for being with us tonight on kron 4 news at 11, i'm grant lotus and i'm noelle bellow. pacifica police identifying the woman today is

50 year-old michelle, a raise kron four's. sara stinson spoke with the woman's daughter about what might have led up to this violent encounter. >> the daughter says her mom has never been violent before. she says the night prior to the shooting, they were celebrating her brother's birthday. she says that's when they learned their mom had bought a gun. they tried to convince her to return it. she says they're still in shock, but she's glad her brother's, ok, gunshots, gunshots. >> newly released body camera video shows the moment leading up to a deadly police shooting in pacifica. it was before 8 in the morning on march 27th when a 23 year-old man called 9-1-1 after locking himself in the bathroom of his apartment. he says he got shot by his mother. police identified her thursday as 50 year-old michelle or raise shot. want it woman? >> early 15 point a moment. >> police say or raise was just pulling out of the apartment complex on francisco

boulevard. 2 officers tried to stop her one on each side of the driveway. staff police lowdown. the video to show a raise pointing a gun at both of them before officers shot at her. after this car came to a stop. officers say they removed the gun from a raise his hand and checked on suspects down. >> ambulance arrived for both the sun and mom, but a raise died at the scene. >> the son was taken to the hospital after being shot in his left arm and right wrist in a sace car. police say they found a loaded handgun and 4 boxes of ammunition in the apartment. they found the family dog shot and killed the san mateo county district attorney's office is in the middle of an independent investigation to see if the shooting was in compliance. pacifica. police are also doing an internal investigation to see if officers followed policies and procedures while speaking with a race daughter off camera, she told me she believes her mom was going through a mental

episode that morning and wishes she never bought that gun. >> the da says it will take 8 to 9 weeks to complete its investigation. the 2 officers involved are on administrative leave. i'm sara stinson reporting in pacifica. back to you. >> their weeks of counting ballots in the race to succeed. congresswoman anna eshoo, it is a tie between us assemblyman evan low and santa clara county supervisor joe summit. ian, both candidates are now moving on from the primary and joining former san jose mayor sam liccardo on the november ballot. a time like this is a first for the state. the race was truly a testament to the statement. every vote counts. one of these 3 men will represent california 16th district in congress. somebody in and low both speaking tonight about that high. both surprised at the outcome and thankful to the voters. neither seem interested in a recount. instead, they're focused on november. the issues they want to tackle and reminding voters why they're

the best candidate for the seat. >> there are a host of issues out there that are calling out for someone to be effective in congress. we've got a high cost of living. we've got climate change to tackle. we've got a woman's right to choose all these are issues the cry out for effective legislators among the candidates who are going to be a runoff. i've got the ability to say. i've been there. i've done that have had the success and i can take that same set of skills to washington to deliver for people in our district. >> what sets me apart is that record of service that when it comes to the most pressing issues that time i champion in co author legislation to enshrine reproductive freedom protections in our state constitution. i've been legislative beer from the california police chiefs association. record amounts legislative proposals continue that washington, d.c., will continue to book partnerships over partisanship and also answering the call for service. >> cardoz team also sent out a

short statement tonight saying, quote, we welcome the opportunity to continue to talk to voters about the issues facing our communities, including the high cost of living utility rates and housing and sam's long record of fighting on behalf of residents. now we did ask our political analyst michael yaki about what would happen if there is a tie in the november election. he said it would go down to drawing lots. their names will be tossed into a ball and the secretary of state would pick one. however, that one is that's the winner. >> april 4. are getting snow. >> there you have south bay fire captain. they're delivering that forecast to cal fire saratoga summit in santa clara county at below hamilton temple. pius were among the peaks that saw snow and they weren't alone. kron four's. chief meteorologist lawrence karnow joins us now with more on the conditions and how long. >> the stormy weather is going to last point lines. april

4th. yeah. how about what a fascinating day weather-wise watching these storms roll in snow level actually be report only down to about 1500 feet for april. >> that is amazing. in fact, for just about any month of the year, that's very impressive out there tonight. we're not done yet we've got more showers out there right now. looking toward the 70 oh bridge and yeah, it's wet out there right now. as we've seen more of that rain pushing on through pretty impressive totals, too. orinda getting closer to an inch of rain just under that in hayward union city over half an inch of rain, san francisco, most half an inch. oakland over half an inch in san jose just over a quarter of an inch of rain. that is very impressive for a spring day. but this storm definitely not spring-like more like winter dragon and some very cold arctic air rolling on in throughout the day. we've numerous showers and of course, some thunderstorms. but that's no has been really something else. we're continue to see it fall to, in fact, a lot of that still falling over mount hamilton into parts of the east and the south bay fact,

overnight tonight, a pretty good snowfall look up toward the hills tomorrow. you're likely to see some white capped mountains around the bay. pretty cool. thanks, arts. another big story we are following. it is a major disappointment and a financial loss as well for the city of oakland. the a's are pulling up their roots and heading to sacramento after more than 50 years oakland. >> the a's will be playing their home games in sacramento starting next season. the announcement comes after the a's and oakland leaders failed to reach a deal on extending as lease at the coliseum. the team's owner instead decided to move the team to the state capitol ahead of its planned move to las vegas in 2028. the a's decision to make this season. they're last in the bay has some fans feeling pretty angry? >> for him to go and help facilitate this for the ace leave oakland faster than what they were expected to be a. it's very disheartening. and

and >> they just point this is an oakland fall. this isn't fans fall. this solely a decision that john fisher himself has made will be in all. 29 other owners have signed off on. they're ok with the fans being treated as expendable as that. they never mattered. >> some fans say they will continue to boycott summer games and they may even bring that protest to sacramento. >> well, tonight, the future of oakland coliseum is another big issue. alameda county leaders say the focus will be to bring in as many events as possible. former longtime a's executive andy do lunch is an expert in the field. >> coliseum was the last town square left in open that people of all backgrounds could get together and celebrate their sports change. and now it is going to be a quiet location. >> hopefully not for statement from oakland's mayor sheng thao reads in part, quote, we wish the a's the best and we'll continue our

conversations with them on facilitating the sale of their share at the coliseum site. the city of oakland will now focus on advancing redevelopment efforts at the coliseum. >> this will also be the last a season for hundreds of people who sell beer, hot dogs, peanuts and popcorn at the coliseum that the jobs lost. unfortunately, the team now has just 74 home games in oakland before they had to sack run for us. dan thorn joins us live in the studio after talking. >> with some of those vendors who say this move. it's heartbreaking. dan. >> yeah, grant. one of those vendors says that this is been a dream job, talking beers at a game a's games. he says that this move is taking money out of his pocket will also ripping away his team from his city. >> it today >> cold for oakland, native kendrick thompson, selling beers at the oakland coliseum has been the holy grail. i grew up. >> watch my father man. and it's like a dream job for me.

not only i want to really a good football player in basketball player, but, you know, this is something down a whole bunch of friends, lifelong friends. hawker is did. the dream come true some i change the world. thompson says he learned through acts. the a's are moving to sacramento next year. >> his first stop was of all his fellow workers who now know for sure that it's over in oakland isn't much. it makes emotion. you want to yell strain. you know, you want to figure next move as soon as possible and hundreds of other people are now facing that reality overall. i think it's a travesty for the city of oakland. >> in that they will no longer be a big league john arnulfo is a former turned business agent with teamsters local 8, 5, 3, >> arnulfo represents around 50 to 60 people who work as novelty or in seed vendors at the coliseum. but this departure from oakland affects so many more. he says some of his members will likely follow

the a's to sacramento. some of the guys already worked there at river games. >> and i suspect more. go up there during the suppose it 3 years of the a's are supposed to be thompson says he's not planning on going because outside of oakland in the bay area. >> it's just not the same feeling. it's kind of disheartening because, you know, i'm a i love this city. i love this job. >> and do it for free. it is heartbreaking. you know. >> yes, certainly a tough loss for somebody from oakland was you saw thompson there was wearing that green sell shirt, which vendors are obviously banned from wearing in the coliseum. but thompson said that he's holding out that little hope that his team will not leave oakland, but he's also telling people in the city to focus on the positives in to support those other teams that are up and coming, who can maybe take over the coliseum and help oakland become a better place in studio. dan thorn kron. 4 news. all right, dan, thank you. stay with kron. 4 on air

>> the man is dead following a stabbing at a san leandro safeway. it happened just store on bancroft san leandro. police say the victim got into a physical confrontation with somebody else that the store and that is when the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim before taking off. police have not released the identities of the victim or the suspect too, remains at large tonight. >> a migrant farm worker who survived the half moon bay mass shooting has filed a lawsuit against the owners of the mushroom farms where those killings took place. 24 year-old pedro felix romero. perez was shot 5 times. he survived, but he lost his older brother, jose pedro and jose's family have filed lawsuits against california terra gardens and its owners accusing them of failing to take reasonable steps to protect their tenants from violent acts.

>> protesters blocked the entrance to the lockheed martin research facility in sunnyvale here. the group is calling for a ceasefire in gaza and says that facility is supplying israel with jets and missiles about 250 people participated in the rally that lasted for about 5 hours today. at one point, a driver sped towards got out of the car and threatened them with a knife. >> present. >> extremely intense encounter. obviously the video

shows and then getting back into his truck with protesters saying that he could park walk in to get the laptop. he says he needed. there. no one was arrested during the protest. >> meanwhile, in los gatos today, people braved the cold and wet weather to support people in gaza to palestinian owned businesses teamed up with islamic relief usa today for a fundraising event. one of the business owner says he felt like it his duty to lead an effort like this one. >> i want people to to know and understand that there's a lot of people that are suffering from this war in gaza. >> people that are dying. i'm getting. massacre right now. and you know, being that i'm i'm full steam. it's incredibly sad to go on with our daily lives with over 32,000 deaths since october. >> he says a he hosted a similar fundraiser at his restaurant back in november.

that event raised more than $30,000. >> my weather time here as we get a live look outside at san francisco. lot of clouds moving through the bay today. and we're not done as of right now. >> that's true cover chief meteorologist lawrence karnow here with what we can expect tonight and into tomorrow morning. more showers out there still are not done with the rain just yet things going. >> wind down a little bit overnight tonight. i think tomorrow we'll see a little more sunshine. but still there's a chance. some scattered showers, maybe some isolated thunderstorms. definitely cool weather. it's going to stick around unusually cool for this time of year. in fact, over the last couple of days, the temperature dropping as much as 20 to 25 degrees outside right now. what's get cold in spots? 40 degrees in pacifica. 41 in dublin. 41 in livermore and check it out. 38 degrees right now in april. in calistoga, we're going way down overnight tonight that our low pressure dropping in. you see that nice little swirl in the atmosphere is a low kind of come through that bringing with it more rain, even some thunderstorms and

well, it was more snow across our local peaks and more to come overnight tonight. this will begin to sag a little further south overnight tonight, too. but still some that wrap-around moisture from that area of low pressure in the swing in and bring us another chance of some more rain. snow continue to fall in the south bay mountains of santa cruz mountains. also mount hamilton getting more snow on the way overall. it's really affected much of california as the storm system tracks for the south lot of snow in the sierra nevada weather chaining up there as well. they're going to count maybe a couple of feet, maybe 3 feet of snow before this is all said and that low kind of moving out of town behind that. you've got that cold air in turning more toward showers as we head in toward tomorrow. you see right here overnight tonight, another band of moisture rolls on shore around 02:00am and more snow over the mountain. tops them for your commute early on. here's the good news. i think we start to dry things out. that said still be a little bit slick on the roads, but least improvement from what we had today. and then by the afternoon, a few more pop up. showers and thunderstorms begin to pop up over the mountain tops late in the day, especially into the east bay overnight lows going to cold, though. how about this? 34

degrees and live more in april. that is a chilly night. 35 and saint rose about 36 napa highs tomorrow. a little bit warmer we had today. 50's and it looks like for the most part we're going to prove things as we head toward the weekend. slight chance of a few sprinkles on sunday. but next week, 70's, maybe even some 80's next week. so what a change we're going to see. so if you've been looking forward to a nice spring weather, just wait. a few days is coming back. we needed it. yeah. all right. that's good. thanks a >> apple has notified the state's employment development department about its plans to lay off more than 600 of its workers. the employees are based in various locations and santa clara, not far from the company's headquarters in cupertino. back in february, the tech giant shut down its decade-old quest to build electric vehicle that resulted in more than 1000 job cuts or reassignments for employees who were working on that project. >> next in sports, the dubs on the road and texas played a couple games with huge playoff

clean up the boards with the follow slam warriors win going away, won. 33 to one 10. now they head to dallas to face the mavs another important game. but for now they won a season-high 6 in a row and 5 straight road games. well, for a long time, it seemed like the a's and their fans might just be in limbo forever. but now we know their path will definitely include a short detour for the next 3 seasons before las vegas. >> the a's are taking major league baseball to sacramento team owner john fisher announced the move today at a press conference held at sutter health park. that is the home. >> of the triple a sacramento river cats. and now fisher has partnered up with sacramento kings owner vivek to get this deal done. so for at least those 3 seasons, the a's will be playing in this 10,000 seat. minor league stadium with an option for a 4th year if needed. good deal. certainly for ana de. they there's speculation that if the a's draw well in

sacramento over the next several years, the league could consider that city as the future site for an expansion team. but for now, a brass is just forced to try to sell. this is a good thing for the team. >> well, i think the next 3 years are going to be a great way to showcase the interest in baseball. i mean, it's already happened with all the great success here with the river cats over the years. i think these next 3 years will be a continuation of i just want to say we're. >> we're excited to be here for the next 3 years playing. this is a beautiful ballpark, but also being able to be able to some of the greatest players in baseball. whether they be athletics. players are aaron judge and others launch home runs out of this very intimate, the most intimate ballpark in all of major league baseball for the next 3 years. >> argue it's intimate because it's not a real major league baseball park. but let's go to the ice for now. sharks hosting the kings of the tank
