from that perspective, we're looking outside of the golden gate bridge right here, much calmer conditions. and yesterday, as far as winds go to so improvements in a lot of regards, we're still seeing a lot of snowfall up in the sierra nevada and that is something that will slow you down a little bit as you head up there today to enjoy all that fresh spring powder. as for the bay area itself, definitely calmer. we still have some low elevation snowfall, though. you're seeing that around mount hamilton was several inches up there. even saw a little bit of rain snow mix on the altamont pass this morning between livermore on your way out to tracy. now, we will continue to see a chance of isolated showers through the day today. most likely to see any thunderstorm development occurring further inland into the afternoon talking inland. napa solano contra costa and alameda counties towards the afternoon. as you can see here bodes well for those of us live near the bay shore and the coastline, which are more likely to remain dry for most of the day. 30's and 40's for your current temperatures. so throw on those extra layers that you might not have

businesses teamed up with islamic relief usa yesterday for a fundraising event to support the people of gaza. one of the business owner says he felt like it was his duty to lead and aid effort like this one. >> i want people to to know and understand that there's a lot of people that are suffering from this war in gaza. people that are dying. i'm getting. massacre right now. and you know, being that i'm i'm full steam. it's incredibly sad to go on with our daily lives with over 32,000 deaths since october. >> he went on to say that he hosted a similar fundraising event at his restaurant back in november. he says that event raised more than $30,000. >> will says goes restaurant week kicks off today? the event goes at least until next sunday, april 14th. this is a

mass that will keep us rather chilly through the remainder of the weekend. today we will see plenty of sunshine. but between those clouds still some dark clouds here and there from napa county down through inland alameda county, a chance of afternoon thunderstorms later on today. building in michigan see in future cast tomorrow is going to be our most consistently dry day with skies. nice and clear for your saturday. excellent day to choose some time to get outdoors. saturday night into sunday morning, we will see a brief resurgence of showers. most of it remaining relatively light sunday itself should prove to be nice and clear with monday, especially being nice and sunny for the eclipse and getting warmer towards monday and the rest of the week. rainfall over the rest of the weekend, staying below a 10th of an inch. so we've definitely seen most of it already. a winter weather advisory still does remain in the sierra nevada. and we do have a winter storm warning still in effect for the mountains above the southern part of the state. so definitely still very active in some areas. and if you are doing some travel, heading up

any issue on the span. 14 minutes to get from 8.80, out too. highway 101. the richmond, sandra fell bridge back up a little bit here at the toll plaza. but once you're past it, you're fine. the drive across the span. just 11 minutes to get out to marin county and then a final stop for you this morning. the golden gate bridge where you're southbound, 1, 1, ride from marin county into san francisco is moving smoothly. just 20 minutes to get from the bottom down into the city. >> well, bart is celebrating autism acceptance month. and robert here recorded a station announcement after school went to listen to his voice at then embarcadero station about that in his announcement, roberts says that he rides part because he finds relaxing. >> i love that. well, mayor's office says they received 380 applications for their new affordable housing, the house

transportation throughout europe in asia. and supporters of the bill say the u.s. needs to catch up. >> we're behind the rest of the world by a lot. but we can catch up with this bill. it's really a way to rebuild america to reconnect america. >> opponents of the bill say that it's unrealistic to compare the u.s. to the geographically smaller countries in europe and asia when it comes to high-speed rail. according to a new study, the bay area is leading the nation in a shift from gas, powered cars to electric vehicles in 2012, uc berkeley's atmospheric chemist ronald cohen began setting up co 2 monitors across the bay area. and as you can see here on this map, there are now more than 80 stations stretching from sonoma county to san francisco and all throughout alameda county and between 2018 to 2022, the monitors recorded a steady decrease in co 2 emissions. that translates to about 2.6% in yearly drops in vehicle emission rates. the results of

the bathroom of his apartment. he says he got shot by his mother. police identified her thursday as 50 year-old michelle raise shock but not kind woman. >> early 50's point a moment. >> police say a raise was just ppulling out of the apartment complex on francisco boulevard. 2 officers tried to stop her one on each side of the driveway. staff police lowdown. the video to show a raise pointing a gun at both of them before officers shot at her. after this car came to a stop. officers say they removed the gun from a raise his hand and checked on suspects down. >> ambulance arrived for both the sun and mom, but a raise died at the scene. >> the son was taken to the hospital after being shot in his left arm and right wrist in a race car. police say they found a loaded handgun and 4 boxes of ammunition in the apartment. they found the family dog shot and killed the

san mateo county district attorney's office is in the middle of an independent investigation to see if the shooting was in compliance. pacifica. police are also doing an internal investigation to see if officers followed policies and procedures while speaking with a race daughter off camera, she told me she believes her mom was going through a mental episode that morning and wishes she never had bought that gun. >> the da says it will take 8 to 9 weeks to complete its investigation. the 2 officers involved are on administrative leave. i'm sara stinson reporting in pacifica. back to you. >> well, a migrant farm worker who survived the half bay mass shooting filed a lawsuit against the owners of the mushroom farms where the killings took place. twenty-four-year-old pencil, felix samara. perez was shot 5 times. he survived. he lost his older brother, jose petal and jose's family. they filed a lawsuit against california terra gardens and its owner accusing them of failing to reasonable steps to protect their tenants for violent acts. and happening today said

>> we're back time now. 6.14, and here are 4 things to know. 2 men accused of selling drugs on the dark web have been arrested now following a monthslong investigation in san jose. police say that investigation stemmed from a traffic stop back in november, whichhen led to a home search where they found these drugs and guns that were all intended for sale. heyward police arrested a man suspected of robbing peninsula businesses at gunpoint last month. police say the suspect stole large amounts of cash and later tied up a victim before fleeing the scene. the man was taken to san mateo county jail and booked for robbery and kidnapping. the kaiser permanente in oakland is partnering up with other businesses to provide private security guards for its workers last month, the kaiser oakland nurse reported her car was stolen right in front of her after ship and she was

know you're going to be encountering slick conditions at this point. low pressure is already crossed overhead and will begin to exit the region. so we are going to start to calm down. but now we are deeply entrenched in this cold air mass, which is going to keep us really cool throughout the weekend as you can see. nice dry morning conditions. we will see some continued snow above san jose, though, as we do see just a very wintry day ahead of us again, even with that sunshine, keeping us in the 50's, the warmest this afternoon, your best opportunity of thunderstorm activity is going to be for the inland east bay in the in the north bay and mostly towards the tail end of the afternoon. most of the rest of us will actually still hold on to some relatively clear skies. tomorrow is going to be the clearest and most consistently dry day of the weekend's forecast by saturday night into sunday morning. we do see a few showers making their resurgence. you wake up to them on sunday morning, but they will quickly depart by monday for the eclipse. it's crystal clear and actually warming up really nicely

a similar crime her car was stolen right in front of her after her shift ended. as you just run in the day, go home. >> in the east bay, a man is dead now following a stabbing at a san leandro safeway. that happened just after 5 o'clock tuesday evening at the store on bancroft avenue stanley under police say the victim got into a fight with another person in the store and that's when the suspect took out a knife and stabbed the victim before leaving. police haven't released the identities of the victim or the suspect who, by the way, still remains at large this morning. in the south bay, 2 men accused of selling drugs on the dark web or been arrested. now following a monthslong investigation in san jose. take a look at some of the items that were found in their home. police say the investigation stemmed from a traffic stop back in november where they found illegal drugs in the car that led officials to get a search warrant for the suspect's homes. and that's where police say they found what you see on the screen, multiple guns and large amounts of drugs intended for sale. police say

the investigation and sold illegal drugs on the dark web and only accepted cryptocurrency as payment. >> well, police arrested a man that they believe might have been involved in a robbery of the peninsula. business more. they tied victims of a gunpoint before they left the scene. investigators say carlos gonzalez held a business terminal court in south san francisco last month, detectives identified gonzalez as a suspect and carried out a search warrant his home in hayward. gonzales was arrested on suspicion of robbery and kidnapping and was booked into the san mateo jail. >> protesters blocked the interest of the lockheed martin's research facility in sayville yesterday. the group calling for a cease-fire in gaza says the facility is supplying israel and jet with jets and missiles. about 250 people participated in that rally that lasted for about 5 hours. one point a driver sped towards got out of the car and threatened with a knife.
