weather. good morning. and sunny out there. full fledged sunshine today. no clips for this one. we are looking at. >> no fog. no cloud cover and know what we had yesterday. looking outside at the golden gate bridge. crystal clear out there, too. we briefly saw some fog trying to make its way through this morning. burns off very quickly. and for the rest of the day, we're actually getting even warmer than we did yesterday. so if you love the heat in the sunshine these next 3 days or something to look forward to, actually going to cool right back down after that. temperatures in the 50's to low 60's right now. alameda at 60 degrees. vacaville at 61. one of our warmer spots so far later on today, some of us will near 80 degrees, although we're going to say that number for tomorrow. i'll get to that. still ahead, michael thomas in for traffic this morning with the latest. thanks, john. good morning. everyone will good news taking a live look right now. the san mateo bridge. you can see. >> the 14 minute commute will be take a look at the bay bridge. it's an even better commute. only 9 minutes to get from the maze to fremont street into the city. taking a

look at some drive times before we get to the news crockett to the maze. 28 minute commute. walnut creek to 5, 80 17 minute commute. castro valley to the maze. 26 minute commute. san leandro to the misa 20 minute commute of those are currently in the orange color. green means that it's good news. so hopefully that starts to clear up soon. in the next 15 minutes, we'll give you a look at some drive times for those of you over in the east and the south bay, right? and james, we'll send it to you. all right, michael, thank you for that. >> happening today, san jose leaders are set to vote on a new measure to limit where homeless encampments can be constructed it. say move is necessary to keep schools safe. kron four's will tran live in san jose to explain. good morning. well. yes, the goal is to keep schools safe, but homeless advocates believe. >> this also in its own way is attacking homelessness because a lot of times it's not their fault that they simply cannot afford a traditional they have to stay on the streets. are even in some cases are looks like what are these have to do

with all of this in just a few moments? but what's going to happen is the city council members. they will look at a few measures. one that's already been on the books for 3 years right now. it says you cannot have a homeless encampment within 150 feet of a school that it really never enforced. it was more like guidelines. now they want to make it a law. so if it is passed, what's going to happen is the homeless will get cited, but they won't ask for any money like a traditional take it, though, just be cited and be asked to leave that location. now in terms of rv's, there are hundreds of them in san jose. and many of them are used by the homeless because they can't buy a home or stay in an apartment. but instead they stay in an rv and sometimes those rv's and large vehicles. >> well, they're parked near a school zone. so if this measure is passed, what's going to happen is they will do a steady near certain schools. now, if the view is obstructed by a large car or

an rv and homeless person lives in sight, they will get a knock at the door, telling them that they cannot park here. and if they do not move, then they will be towed. so lots going on the city of san jose. they want to make it safer for the students and the parents who have complained oftentimes, but their own safety. but they are trying to work with the homeless because let's face it. this problem is very complex and is not going away. back to you. >> all right. well, thank you for that report. time now is 9, 0, 3, and 2. a disturbing story now case we've been following out of the south bay where 3 suspects are in jail, charged with murdering a three-year-old. so our family members say they were performing exorcism. newly-released documents reveal the chop fall for life. tried to escape from the church where her mother, uncle and grandfather form that exorcism castle even they claim have possessed her. so having back 2021 investigators say the girl's body at several injuries. firefighters found her on the altar of the church

in downtown san jose. a coroner determined she died from a combination of as as well as smothering. 3 of pleaded not guilty. judge set to rule on whether the cases going before to a trial. well, new this morning, a pedestrian died while crossing the freeway near san francisco international airport. that happened last night around 10:00pm. >> chp says the car struck the victim on southbound 101, near the airport. offramp investigators are now looking into why that person was on the freeway in the first place. >> well, tesla there battling 2 court cases in the south bay. the company decided to settle one where a family was suing the company over the autopilot feature the same al function killed a man in mountain view. the crash happened back in 2018. a highly one-on-one. investigators say the driver was playing video games on his phone while using tesla's autopilot feature. the investigation determined the auto pilot system did not recognize a lane change on the highway. tesla has long teachers do not prevent all

accidents. don't have any word on how much money tesla settling for both sides the back in court this thursday to talk about the settlement for her. another court case involving tesla's going to hurt today. this case involves a family whose 2 year-old son crashed a tesla in his pregnant mother back in 2018 lawsuit accuses tesla of consumer fraud advertising model x as safe and also lives. tesla knew about a defective design. tesla denied any liability. on alameda island. take a look at the smoke coming from the posey tube after a truck or a pickup truck caught fire inside. >> this is about 7.30, last night cruise from alameda and oakland. both responded. they evacuated the tube and work for about an hour to put that fire out. no word if anybody was hurt. in the east bay hayward, firefighters put out a fire on paul di and hall road last night. look at this. this is video from the citizen app showing flames coming from the building there in the distance. it was about 10

o'clock or so that it was reported. no word this case either. if anybody was hurt or how that fire started. that's also part of the investigation. >> san francisco, they're now threatening legal action over a proposed name change for the open airport just days before the port of oakland is set to vote on that new name. so this proposed new name would make oakland international airport. the san francisco bay, oakland international airport, proper sarah stinson has the story. >> at the oakland airport on monday night. rumblings could be heard about the airport, possibly getting a new name. san francisco bay, oakland international airport. i think it's ridiculous. the port of oakland manages the airport and first proposed the name change late march. the port president says this will boost travelers, geographic awareness of where the airport is located. but people flying in and out of the airport say this would only make things more confusing. nothing about here that some francisco.

we're trying to get away from some school. that's why we come here. you know, some of is going open its 2 different cities. so that's way confusing. oakland mayor sheng thao has said the new name could support the airport's efforts to secure more direct flights and boost tourism in oakland. but across the bay, san francisco mayoral candidate and supervisor. asha, suffice as the name change would hurt sf. >> san francisco's a port of entry for millions of immigrants. millions of working people, people from all over the country in the world and what you don't want ever is for there to be confusion ahead of the port commission scheduled vote on thursday. san francisco city attorney david chiu center letter threatening legal action if they go through with it too, says the proposed name infringes on sf those trademark. >> their proposal appears intentionally designed to divert travelers. you may be unfamiliar with the area. geography. we believe that the

temperatures of the year so far just around the corner tomorrow and tuesday. we are in for quite the warm-up, but it doesn't last for long. this low pressure area dives right in cools us right down into the weekend. and it almost seems like a pattern now that our weekends, when we see our cool down and saturday is going to be a wet and cool one for sure. let's take a look at future cast and you can see the breakdown here. so here's your sunshine next. several days looking nice and warm as we move into friday. your day of transition getting a little bit cooler and definitely windy here. saturday gets here. there's your low pressure area anchoring this cold air mass and snow up in the sierra showers here in the bay area doesn't look like it's going to be anything too heavy, but it is a big change of pace from the warmth and the dry weather that we're in the midst of right now. temperatures today 60's at the coastline. keep the jackets on hand for a coastal areas. we do have a sea breeze at the coast. so wouldn't be surprised to see just a few fog patches to well elsewhere in the bay. it's nothing but the sun and some solid 70's today. a few of us getting

close to 80 like campbell, santa clara and san jose, each at 78 degrees. you'll be joined by conquer this afternoon at 78 as well. oakland in richmond, a comfortable 72 and warm for the north bay with solid mid to upper 70's for you as well. looking ahead, tomorrow's temperatures touch those 80's, as i mentioned, will stay that way into thursday. friday, starting to cool down and by saturday, we're back in the upper 50's with showers across the bay. michael. >> thanks, john. good morning, everyone. happy tuesday. those roads starting to look good. for the most part. you can see lots of green, some small pockets of that yellow and red, which means there are some delays. taking a look over towards the east bay. you can see right here around the freeman area. it's starting to get to that yellow and orange, which means there are some delays. and that's because there was a traffic collision here. earlier, tory been cleared up. you can just see how it's causing now residual delays, which is what they're warning us about. we take a look at drive times in that specific area. san leandro to milpitas. it's a 42 minute commute. again. you see a lot of that yellow orange which we

normally do see. but because of those residual delays, it's going to take a little bit longer. so keep that in mind as you're heading out this morning, taking a look at some drive times livermore to dublin, 15 minutes, 20 minute commute, dublin to fremont. 42 minute comey are 41 minute commute to change right before our san leandro to milpitas and milpitas to sunnyvale. a 10 minute commute. taking a look over of the area's heading towards the maze any on to conquer. 22 minutes. not too too bad. and again, that orange, we normally see it every day around this time. taking a look at westbound 80 crockett to the maze. 28 minute commute. you see that orange, yellow and red. unfortunately, it's always like that around this time in a live look at that bay bridge right now, a 9 minute commute to cross it into the city. not too bad for a tuesday morning. we'll send it back to 2 at the desk. >> time now to talk winners and losers on wall street financial expert rob black. joining me this morning at robb, help me seeing red across the board. the dow off by more than 100 points. and the big headline right now

that i'm seeing is basically investors bracing for key u.s. inflation report. when we talk about. >> on my radio show today summed it up as maybe the easiest part is over. we've had 15 up months essentially a good year. good quarter. now we're waiting for the fed to cut interest rates. we started year think it would be 6 times that it was 3 times. now we're thinking 2 times, maybe not in june. so we have to get into earnings and share that earnings are there because jobs are there. so maybe the easy part of this moves over until the fat cuts. we've had a great year were digesting. i mean, i see small caps mudcats dua khalil catch-up. it wasn't too long ago. you thought there were going to be about 3 cuts this year. you pulling back on that. >> thinking now i'm not an expert in this area. i just kind of follow the trends and tell you what the news is reporting. a jobs numbers. great, but inflation still a little bit too tricky. yeah, i'm in the fed doesn't want have to raise rates again said

>> well, san francisco deputy sheriff was charged with domestic violence according to court documents. jonathan espirito strangled his girlfriend in a home last august and then attacked or of work in december. as for 2 pleaded not guilty to all charges. prosecutors say they're keeping him in custody because he is a public safety risk. staff is on the verge enter a hospital in san francisco. they're going undergo security training because of a privacy breach in december. what a medical law that went missing long put hat sensitive information like patients, medical records, birthdays. even the result specimen collections. the

shop. detectives say the suspects were altering stolen cars out of an unlicensed vehicle repair shop up in santa rosa. they say they found 7 stolen cars and several others that were in the process of being repaired when they raided that facility. there are allegations this morning that openai trained its chatgpt model on more than a million hours of youtube videos without permission from creators or youtube itself. and this comes from the new york times which says openai new the move was legally questionable, but did it anyway to give their technology a competitive advantage the times says opening eyes president was personally involved and that special transcription software was created to scrape you to content google, which owns youtube, says its terms of service explicitly prohibits automated scraping or downloading of its contents will keep following the story. >> changes are coming to the martinez refining company after a lawsuit settlement. so the bay area air quality management suet the refinery over what it said was on

vegas. he like many a's fans. he would like the teens stay rooted in oakland. >> well, while lawmakers in nevada seem happy to hand over 380 million dollars to help build that new ballpark for the a's. a new poll of las vegas residents found that the majority of them not too keen on the idea. not at all. overs in kerman has that story last week the a's were celebrating moving to a minor league ballpark in sacramento for 3 years. >> until the new las vegas stadium is built. the nevada legislature is already shelled out 380 million dollars in public funds to help build that stadium. but a new poll finds residents of las vegas oppose using public money. the emerson college polling survey asked 500 likely las vegas voters. do you support or oppose the use of public money going towards the construction of a baseball stadium for the las vegas a's. well, almost 32% supported public funding. nearly 52% opposed it. and

we're getting up into the low 80's. it does not last long, though, just to our north, low pressure drops. and in this weekend really cools things off for us. friday is going to be a day will brings the cooldown. and by saturday, some showers along with that cooler air. you can see it all playing out in future cast today tomorrow, thursday, great days to plan something outdoors friday. certainly not bad, but a little breezy and a little cooler saturday. there's your storm system. showers shouldn't be too significant for the bay area. some lighter showers for us. but that's cold rain. so not a good day for an event outdoors and that snowfall in the sierra will be welcome for skiers and snowboarders. maybe not so welcome. if you are doing travel up donner summit that day. as for temperatures, we are going to be in the 60's at the coast and 70's consistently elsewhere. definitely warmer than yesterday was but not quite as warm as tomorrow is about to be. so this temperature trend on the upswing right now, palo alto at 75 san jose. among our warmer spots at 78 degrees.

you're actually tie spots like concord. also getting up to 78 oakland and richmond. you'll be at 72 this afternoon, some mid to upper 70's across the north bay. let's get you look ahead tomorrow and thursday. our temperatures at the warmest. we'll see them. and then it's back downhill. we go by saturday, those same inland areas, mostly just in the 50's. i mean, some showers, michael. good morning, everyone. 18 degrees. that sounds wonderful. we better pull out the shorts while taking a look right now at traffic tracker for you can see lots of greens, some small pockets of that yellow and red, which means there are some delays. >> we're seeing mostly over in the east bay right now and there are residual delays from earlier. you can see right here there was an accident that they have now cleared its on 24 westbound near lafayette area. it's east of pleasant hill road. one of the lanes is closed and you can see it's causing some residual delays even over on 6.80. we also see some more residual delays. it was a traffic collision on northbound 8.80, north of little road already been cleared up. but again, we are

seeing some of those residual delays. when we take a look at what the drive time is right now in that area, san leandro to milpitas heading south. 33 minutes. not too bad, which is great. taking a look at drive times in the east bay livermore to dublin 14 minutes dublin to fremont. 25 minutes san leandro to milpitas 20 or excuse me. 33 minutes to us to sunnyvale 11 minutes. and those bottom 3 are all in the orange, which is not the best, but still better than what we saw earlier, taking a look at 101 in the south bay san jose to menlo park. a 43 minute commute. everything seems to be pretty clear there. some small yellow spots but nothing too major. taking a look at some drive times for those of you heading over towards the maze crockett to the maze. 21 minutes, walnut creek to 5, 80 14 minutes. castro valley to the maze. 15 minutes. stanley and or to the maze 15 minute commute. we take a look at the bay bridge, once you get to that mays. well, from the maze to f emont street, it's only a 10 minute commute. you can see that traffic just flowing through. we'll send it back to you to the desk. the
