>> i'm noelle bellow and i'm grant lotus. talk about marin county where deputies are recently followed up on a concerned citizens report about this kid running through the neighborhood with a gun has come for theresa stasi reports the teenager admitted to playing a game called senior u.s. assets. >> kron 4 news obtained the snapshots from a deputy's body worn camera of a replica gun recovered by marin county sheriffs on tuesday. a spokesperson says the deputies pulled over the team with friends after an uber driver have reported seeing what he thought was a teen running through a neighborhood holding a real weapon. yeah, just call that the assassin or game and it's common for seniors to play having this time for end of the indefinitely. according to their was something that they knew could be riskier. people could be concerned about. >> so they're trying to be smart about but running through residential neighborhoods and adding by is

ultimately the threat was found 2 not be credible, but schools, including antioch, high school, had increased security throughout the day. we talk to wanted to pick up their kids early. >> he didn't like if a sense you real or not. >> was were used gear. i a little scared. >> the assistant superintendent with the liberty union high school district says the threat was actually sent to schools across the state. but no specific school was actually mentioned. >> 4 people have been charged in the murder of a baby in san jose. according to court documents, 2 alleged drug dealers are among the 4 accused of supplying the fentanyl that led to the overdose of 18 month-old baby winter winters parents, derek van ryo and kelli jean richardson were the first in santa clara county's history to be charged with murdering

their own child with drugs. the santa clara county district attorney says the parents waited more than 12 hours before they called 9-1-1. to report their daughter was dead. the da's office claims the 2 additional people charged today provided a steady supply of opioids and shared the drugs and photographs and video show all 4 defendants using drugs in the same room as baby want her. >> alameda county district attorney pamela price says her office is currently working on filing charges against these protesters who blocked 8.80 earlier this week. in a statement, a crowd for da price as her office is working with the highway patrol to process evidence and information writing in part, quote, while my office supports the essential right to protest, it is important to note that public safety should never be compromised in exercising the first amendment right of free speech, guaranteed under the constitution. meanwhile, san francisco district attorney brooke jenkins is reaching out

you're stepping outside tonight, what a nice evening out there. these temperatures by 6 o'clock still a lot of 60's 70's around the bay area. little cooler along the coastline, but stay pretty warm to mild as we head towards 7 more clouds on the way after 8 o'clock tonight. sounds good. thanks, lawrence. starting tomorrow, the pacifica pier will be closed for 2 days. crews will be looking at the structure. >> to determine if the full peer can be safely reopened. sections of it were damaged by big waves and swells. back in december. all those storms that rolled in the pier partially reopened in february. but engineers determine that half of it just wasn't safe for people. so they're going to work to check it out the next couple days. >> tomorrow, san francisco's holding a ceremony to mark 118 years since the devastating 19. 0, 6, earthquake. it will be held at lot of us found fountain starting at 04:45am. in the morning. more than 3,000 people died and more than 200,000 people were left

homeless from that earthquake. city officials will honor the day with a wreath-laying ceremony as well as a moment of silence, followed by sirens from fire truck. >> the oakland ballers are a step closer to playing every monday park in west oakland, the oakland city council approved the first reading of an ordinance to allow the team to play games at the park this season. the bowlers organization has agreed to fork over 1.6 million dollars to improve the park. you see they're doing work as we speak. this is a what our cameras saw today. when we took a visit there, the team will host. they hope 48 home games. they're starting this summer. we get a chance to talk with some team executives about what's next. >> that means that our our, you know, our plan for improvements to the park to the deal. fencing netting installation of a video scoreboard. you know, field improvement adding seats that that all can you know, it officially is going forward

teens through video is nothing new. the santa clara county health department has been sponsoring this sti viral video contest since 2014. >> and with st eyes on the rise, it's more important now than ever we see at cross the u.s. that more than half of the sexually transmitted infections. >> our karin youth ages 15 to 24. and that's why it's so important that we're each use with the messages about the tools and information that they're going to help keep them safe and healthy from these infections. the winning videos are now online and the filmmakers hope with each viewing and posting it will raise awareness. dan kerman kron, 4 news. >> more layoffs. a google spokesperson for the company told reuters the layoffs were companywide and part of a broader effort to cut costs. still no word on the number of employees affected. but it is specifically affecting workers in the real estate and finance departments were told this latest round of layoffs follows job cuts made earlier this year where the company

laid off about 1000 employees and reports of the layoffs come one day after google employees. some of them staged a sit-in at the company's sunnyvale offices to protest the war in gaza. organizers of it told kron 4 the protest comes on the heels of time magazine reporting israel's ministry of defense has access to google's technology and ai services. the sunnyvale department of public safety was called in just before 6.30, last night to remove 5 protesters who refused to leave. demonstrators not only targeted the main offices here in the bay, but also in new york and seattle. >> a new bill brought to the state senate today looks to further regulate driverless cars. the bill introduced by san jose senator dave cortez e would align driverless vehicle restrictions with those of human driven vehicles means local police could take up the cars and communities could keep them out of areas of concern. driverless cars would also be subject to the same

dmv requirements as any other vehicle. the bill had its first hearing today could be a month or more until it hits the governor's desk. >> lawmakers on capitol hill heard from boeing whistleblowers today who say the company safety failures could put airplane passengers at risk. washington correspondent maddie beer-temple reports. >> whistleblower engineer sam sally port told senators he's seen shoddy manufacturing firsthand. i literally saw people jumping on the pieces of the airplane to get them to align, sell up or alleges the company used unsafe techniques to ramp up production effectively. they are put in out effective airplanes. but salah poor says his concerns have been ignored by higher-ups. i was told to shut up. i received physical threats. boeing has denied the allegations and said it promotes quality and safety. but have your day. luis says there can be disconnect between what management says and what employees here they

>> all right. back here in the bay talking about beautiful weather here after a weekend of rain and that storm system is now causing real problems across the country. yes, it is. lawrence karnow has some details arms. yeah. this is the time of year. we see that clash between the cold air mass in the warm air masses really? >> as we start to settled into more of the summer, like pattern that between now and then boy gets very active, especially across the country's midsection. that's what we're seeing tonight. again, we're seeing another round of some very strong storms developing out there right now. you've got that cold air on the backside of the some of the snow making its way across the rockies. but have you got some warm air and boy, those storms have been firing up again today. moving a little bit further to the east. you see that line of thunderstorms right here coming through cleveland further to the east on its way to buffalo won't be long. the possibility more tornadic activity as that system rolls on by. you see storm reports of hail, very strong wind gusts of 65 miles per hour today. and the threat of at least some tornadoes right now. nothing is touch the ground not seen in quite yet

on doppler radar either. but we did have a funnel cloud a little bit earlier. but still some scary weather out there tonight with the potential for some severe weather as we head through the evening hours now, looks like that is going to begin to move a little further to east. but still those tornado watches up till 12 o'clock at night as we're going to see some scary weather to pittsburgh. a penn hills also bethel park and ross as those storms continue to march eastward is affecting some air travel out there. not an sfo looking good, mostly clear with some light winds right now 67 degrees. but across the country. yeah, they're starting to see some issues. now you get to a jfk. you've got delays there. expect delays in newark as well as the storm marches for the east likely to see few more delays for tomorrow too. be aware. you might see that this that time of year, those big time thunderstorms come rolling across the country or not to have those here. we've got some nice weather around the bay area. will more talk about more local weather coming up a few minutes. every waiting for yeah, we've i think we've been through rough enough patch. we're ready to have some nice weather on the bay thanks lawmakers are

basin street. >> santa clara county residents could see higher water bills in the upcoming year valley. water spending to fix several dams hold the county's water supply. the region's main water supply or is proposing raising charges on cities and private water retailers as could add up to $8.78 a month to customers bills in the upcoming fiscal year. a final decision will be made in may when valley waters board approves the upcoming budget. meantime, homeowners in california are watching their insurance bills skyrocket due to wildfires and other disasters. some insurance companies have stopped covering homes in certain areas. altogether. we've been reporting on this new bill is looking to change that, though the bill introduced by menlo park senator josh becker would require insurance companies to consider the billions of dollars the state has spent on wildfire mitigation when
