dan thorn a candy store on main street in tehran is shutting its doors. the owner says a major rate hike is forcing are out. kron four's. sara stinson reports on what this loss means for the town. >> after nearly 3 decades providing sweet treats the candy store on main street in tehran is closing. the store was packed with people sunday trying to get their favorite candies one last time. iran is not to run without this candy it's a destination for the kids to come downtown and get candy. this is kind of sad to see that like a childhood memories going away. the shop is a sweet childhood memory for the owner to cam heartbroken. i really am i you this is been half of my life 16 years. jenny torres grew up in temple run and work to the candy store in high school in 2015 when the original owners wanted to sell, she left her job as a teacher and bought it at just 24 years old. i close up that night and i was a

business tourists. as in the last 9 years, she's experienced the ups and downs of running a business in a seasonal tourist >> during the pandemic, you know, i moved heaven and earth to to stay here and keep profitable and keep paying the i never miss a mint. torres says she was trying to renew her lease on main street. but when her landlord hiked the rent 60%. >> she says she made the difficult decision to close once realize that they weren't really willing to negotiate at all. i haven't had a broken talk to them. then i realized that it was just going i was going for us says this has other small businesses on main worried about being pushed out to their nervous having one in the street east, such a high rate would cause their regular rate skyrocket. you know, as word got out about the closure, the support came flooding in from the community. a lot of people came and asked me what i needed, what i wanted. people offer to invest. people offer you know, pay the rent. a gofundme page was set up to save the candy shop. it's

raised more than $6,000. tourists hopes one day she can open up the shop in a new location. but for now, it's farewell. assuming ever met has been coming to say goodbye to the candy look at that smile. i we're going to take away the smiles. torres is hoping to keep this sweet tradition alive by opening up another candy store somewhere else in town. >> with a different landlord, we reached out to her current landlord, but we did not hear back in time for this report. >> i'm sara stinson reporting in timber kron. 4 news. >> well, local businesses are also take a hit in sausalito as the ferry remains closed this weekend. those closures are now entering their second week after inspection found one of the pier pilings was damaged. people living in sausalito say it's a big loss, not just for their town, but for anyone who might want to visit. >> we miss people walking in and and and going to jobs

with a look at what to expect to a load. and yes, it a nice out there. we still have a breeze out there. so you may feel a little chill over by the coast and temperatures are currently sitting some of the 50's at this at 10:00pm hour. so at san francisco right now, you could see. >> sitting at. sitting at it's 52 degrees and a half moon bay as well. upper 50's in oakland and san jose and conquered looks like one of the warmest spots this evening at 60 degrees and we are one that degree 5 degrees up in nevado. but we will be warming up, you know, be kind of a repeat of today and take a look at the current winds at 25 miles an hour reported here in san francisco, 20 in novato and we're in the teens in oakland. so we've been windy the last couple of days that when looks like you'll stick around for monday, as you can see, we're pretty calm on our storm tracker tonight. overnight lows will be pretty mild as well in the mid 40's low 50's. just watch out for those breezy conditions tonight and

it. take a look at your morning drive. it doesn't look like it looks like visibility will be nice and clear for you to some overnight, fog over by the valleys and over by the coast. some looking ahead, though, we'll hold on to the 70's inland upper 60's by the bay. but wednesday looks like one of the warmer days here. we could see 80's inland in a more 70's by the bay and 60's by the coast. when i come back, we'll have your extended forecast in a few minutes. stand. >> all right. thanks a lot. sam. mateo deputies arrest a man accused of taking a child the same day she was reported kidnapped. deputies say a woman approached them outside their headquarters in north fair oaks yesterday afternoon to report her 4 year-old daughter had been taken from her by her child's father. the man's car was spotted driving down el camino real. he was taken into custody and the child was returned. an injured shortly after the report was made. mitt butterfield, daughter of the co-founder of slack has been safely located

after she was reported missing last monday. detectives say the 16 year-old voluntarily ran away from her family home. she was found with a 26 year-old man who was arrested. the bail set at $50,000. police are still looking for a suspect after a woman was shot and killed near downtown san jose friday night. investigators say this happened in the area of north 4th and east saint james streets around 9 friday night. the victim was found in the street. police say the shooter ran from the scene. neighbors tell us they heard multiple gunshots and that it sounded like firecrackers were going off. they say officers were on the scene until 6 o'clock yesterday morning. and this is the city's 12 homicide of the year. at least 2 people injured when a santa clara county sheriffs patrol car collides with another vehicle in san jose happened today on commodore drive-in king road just after 12, 30 this afternoon the crash forcing a number of street closures in

the area. all passengers reportedly had minor injuries. not clear what caused this accident, but we have reached out to the sheriff's office for comment and so far have not heard back. the number of cars engulfed in flames across san francisco's tenderloin district this morning. fire crews say 4 cars caught fire around 5 o'clock this morning. this is video from the citizen app showing one in the area of van ness and hickory in rose street. other fires broke out at jones and in the area of hate and octavia and market street. no injuries have been reported. the cause of the fire still under investigation tonight. now to the east bay where bart service is set to reopen tomorrow between the rockridge station in oakland and the lafayette station. the transit agency has been upgrading one of its tracks. free buses have been available for impact stations. bart says if you're going to be taking it expect a 20 minute to life. let's take a live look right now at 6.80, in the east bay.

this is the southbound lanes between the 5, 86, 80 connector in pleasanton down to coop and road which has been closed off this weekend. those lanes are set to reopen tomorrow morning at 4 just before the busy morning commute. the lanes have been closed this weekend. so caltrans can continue to replace a portion of the road. this is the 4th closure of the southbound lanes of 6 ad caltrans also sharing these pictures from highway 37 in the north bay. those sections of the road will reopen tomorrow at 4 crews have been spending the weekend repaving the westbound lanes the next 2 weekends, though the eastbound lanes will be shut down for re pavement. happening tomorrow, new temporary housing coming to san jose county supervisor cindy chavez is unveiling the project at the salvation army emanuel house. the campus will be getting a complete makeover into temporary houses. mayor matt mahan is also expected to be in attendance. still to

of today and pretty much the weekend. you know, we still have those nice daytime highs, but also the breezy conditions. we will be dealing with a live look here at sfo. pretty quiet out there, though, especially if you're like inland. it's a nice, refreshing breeze, though. notice how clear we are on our storm tracker here. you see breezy conditions here and in the future cast model is also clear as well. so they take you through this evening. we have mostly clear skies maybe overnight fog by the valleys in the south bay and the coast and notice the iso bars here. so as i take you through tomorrow, that's when you'll notice the pop in the wind. so you may have noticed it breezy along the coast and then towards the afternoon. that's when you and your inland areas and the coastal fields. you notice the iso bars are closer. so when they're close to that means the winds will be stronger. so expect another repeat like we saw over the weekend, breezy conditions throughout the day. and here's that wind forecast. so at this hour in the 30's along the coast at 30 in san francisco, 30 miles an hour in sandra fell were in the teens as we

make your way inland. and then i take you through monday morning. your morning drive. it looks pretty breezy in santa rosa all the way down to half moon bay with numbers expected to be in the 30's, relatively calm inland, though. and then you'll see a pop again in the afternoon and evening. so another breezy day, just securing those loose course. have your jacket if you're going to be out and about along the coastal areas. low temperatures, though, are pretty mild. upper 40's will be waking up to and a low 50's and then we'll be warming up to the 60's and 70's once again. so you'll notice the warming trend as we make our way towards the weakest. 77 expected over in antioch. a 72 in san jose. more 70's in the north bay and santa rosa 60's and upper 50's by the coast. and here is your 7 day outlook. so we have nice warming trend. as you can see, mid to upper 70's for inland be wednesday. could even see the 80's and then around the bay and coast will be in the upper 60's 50's. but, you

news at 10 for 37 years. >> thousands of students around northern california come to downtown san jose to show off their engineering skills. it's called the tech challenge. and this year's event brought in 2000 students to the competition. kron four's jack moment has the story. >> from around 144 different schools from the bay area and northern california joined together here in downtown san jose for the 37th annual tech challenge. but the tech projects they're working go back months.

>> time means the end of the school year. but for these kids. >> really, fun. but >> challenging the 37th annual tech challenge in downtown san jose. well, months in the making doesn't feel like your usual homework assignment. this is really an opportunity from students all over southern california to showcase their amazing engineers feel i belong core helps put the tech challenge on every single year. this is her 11th and she says every year is a different theme. this year's theme is space. >> she adds that every year is special. they started as early as october. >> mean, at the end of the project, they come here to showcase everything they've built for long court. it's a pivotal moment for kids anywhere from 4th grade to senior year round for me. i really love to see all the amazing things that the kids create. it really gives me a lot of hope for the future of our world. >> what the future can wait because now it's time to show off. your target? twice into 3 different platforms. this group of spaceship for their

staffs last night open a nightclub has been hosting dinner cabaret performances and has been known for hosting transgender dancers since they've been open for the last 26 years in the soma neighborhood in san francisco, the owner said that they're hoping to continue doing pop-up performances to keep the legacy of asia sf going strong. san francisco mayor london breed joining in today's celebrations of 4 years without cars in golden gate park the mayor sharing this video on ax commemorating the anniversary. more than a one-mile stretch of jfk drive inside the park has been closed off to cars since the pandemic during the time of that closure, the jfk promenade has been the most frequently visited open space in the city. and, you know, you've got to love golden gate park. it's just a great place to hang out. and of course, i'm sure the people that are on bikes and roller blading and all good stuff really would enjoy it. all right. to some other sports on your feet. today was the big sur marathon evelts course had to be changed because a big part

of highway one gave out and fell into the water. the part of the road closed between big sur and carmel where these runners usually go. about happened back on march. 30th organizers had actually less than a month. that changed the course for runners. >> and according to the races results, simon, ricky runner from right here in san francisco, won the race in get 2 hours. 29 minutes. that's a marathon. you kidding but seem like a pretty nice one out there today. go for a bit of a look at your forecast right now. our mount tam cam showing the city in the darkness off in the distance, gayle ong giving us a look at what to expect to yeah, it was a pleasant running weather by the coast, especially with that breeze going on. >> and here's that view of mount from mount tam here. really nice night out. but it is chilly over by the coast in san francisco with that scene breeze kicking up tonight. temperatures out the door where in the 50's as you can see upper 50's as you make your way in london, oakland,

57 and berkeley also at 57 degrees. pittsburgh sitting at 60 degrees at this at 10:00pm hour. and then as you make your way to santa rosa, also in the upper 50's, a big picture here, a southern and central plains still experiencing some severe weather. as you can see. but as they make your way back here to the west coast, we are pretty quiet. we just have the winds we've been dealing with, which we have been dealing with the last couple of days. so at this hour where 25 miles per hour in san francisco, relatively calm in half moon bay. and then we're in the teens in places like nevado and oakland fairfield, but that delta breeze at 16 miles per hour. so things we will be dealing with the breeze, particularly in the coast. that's where we have been feeling here. for example, overnight will be a nice, refreshing breeze in the teens. but usually we see that pop in the morning and the afternoon. so take a look at the hour's from 02:00pm to 07:00pm in the range. so 23

miles per hour. you can expect that fact that jacket, if you're going be heading by the coast and here is the bigger picture. so take a look over night. you still see a pop in the 30's in places like petaluma and santa fell and even a half moon bay those winds will be picking up. it looks like and then overnight as well. and as i take you through monday, it looks like another breezy day once again, particularly in the over inland. it's pretty refreshing in a war and tuesday, it looks like we'll see a pop as well. so temperatures tomorrow, though, will be a very similar of tad warmer today. we will be going into a warming trend actually. so you can notice a place if you make your way to the inner east bay, antioch, close to 80 degrees as mid close to 80 degrees as mid 70's in livermore down in the low 70's there, east bay shoreline. you'll be in the 70's almost 70's oakland. and then as you make your way to the north bay and napa, you're also be in the low 70's as well over by the coast. a

little cooler in the 60's and by the beaches in the upper 50's, which has been the pattern here, is that your tenant, 10 outlook and it looks like we have this nice warming trend for much of the week where midweek we could see the 80's for inland communities and over by the bay will be in the mid to upper 70's. the coast could reach of mid 60's. but then we'll notice a change towards the back end of the week. you know, we could see a chance of rain in the long range models, but we're still keeping an eye on that. but i just expect the cooldown by next weekend. back to you. >> thanks a lot. now to some developing news tonight. at least 4 people are dead, including an infant after a tornado outbreak in oklahoma. dozens of people were injured. homes and businesses destroyed trees. power lines are down across several counties and the governor has issued an emergency disaster declaration. severe storms are threatening more twisters, heavy rain and large hail from missouri to taxes in this as a historic wave of at least 6 tornadoes swept through

nebraska news nation's emily finn reports. >> we came home. there was no that really comes. >> stacy roe has moved twice in the last 2 years. and now with the tornado damage wreaking havoc across the midwest. she's left looking for a new home once again. residents near omaha are sifting through the rubble where their homes once stood after dozens of tornado shocks. the heartland friday, leaving destruction in their path. no casualties. only minor injuries have been reported in this area. but the efforts to rebuild have only just begun. an elkhorn, one of the hardest hit neighborhoods from the storms. residents and volunteers were cleaning up. tree branch is blocking the streets and dismantling broken fences. police officers blocking off the roads. they tell us to prevents looting of what's left of the homes and are asking people living here to try to secure their belongings. james stennis, as he barely made it to the basement. but for the
