in san francisco, killing two people and injuring several others, some shaken by the crash, now asking for the area to be made safer for residents. >> you shouldn't be going more than like five miles an hour here because there's so many lid everything. >> three other people were hurt in the incident. they are now being treated for their injuries tonight. good evening. on thist& saturday i'm cristina rendon. the crash hpeneat around 1215 this afternoon at uloa street and lenox way, right next to the west portal muni station. new tonight. ktvu zac sos was at the scene shortly after the crash. he joins us live in any indication of what mightent- have caused this? yeah that's really the big question right now. >> and so far, police only able to release limited details. but speed obviously something that police are looking at the car just completely totaled. and the aftermath apparently so traumatic that a number of officers, firefighters first on scene, were sent home early. >> i saw them arriving and it looked bad.

driving a pickup on the highway, and the truck somehow caught fire. firefighters say the truck then slammed into two parked one as they cleaned up thewayt- wreckage. fortunately, no one was hurt. a man is in custody accused of shooting and killing another man in east oakland. police say they were called to night at 102nd avenue and0 last- graphene street. that's just one block south of international boulevard. there they say a man had been shot and he died at the scene. the victim's name has not d is an oakland resident.ay they police are alsoúinvestigating another international boulevard and eighth avenue, a few blocks south of lake merritt. police say they were called to a possible shooting there just before 1:00 in the morning. officers were seen inspectingúa black suv that was parked in the doors open. police say no itst- victims were found at the scenet later showed up at a hospital

nearby. the victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover. anyone with information is asked to contact oakland police. the solano county district attorney is investigating a shootout between two men and police in benicia on the freeway. benicia police say theúcity's license plate readers identified a car involved in an armed robbery near columbus parkway and rose drive at about 930 last night. officers say two suspects in the car took off on interstate 780 and fired shots at the officers. the car then crashed at the eastbound off ramp at military west. one suspect was taken into custody. the other was found hiding in the bushes in the freeway median. the 780 freeway was shut down for several hours. nobody was hurt. police in oakland are investigating an attempted bank robbery downtown. a car smashed into a window at the city national bank at 12th and broadway at around 6:00 this morning. oakland police say the glass shattered, though nobody was able to get inside. officers say they believe 4 or 5 people were inside the car at one time.

all of those people left the scene before officers arrived. police in oakland also hoping surveillance video here will vandalism case. it happened inc- the city's chinatown neighborhood. vandals have targeted the buddhist church at ninth and since november. police say vandals have thrown rocks and bottles at the church, shattering windows. surveillance video all show shows them dumping garbage outside the church. church leaders say they are concerned this vandalism may be a hate crime. in colma, police released this photo of a woman who they say stole more than $3,600 worth of merchandise . the alleged burglary happened on the morning of march 4th at a store on colma boulevard. police say the car the suspect fled in is unknown, but if you recognize the woman you're asked to contact, colma police. tomorrow's saint patrick's day. thousands of people showed up for the annual saint patrick's day parade in san francisco today. plenty of floats, step

dancing troupes and other cultural groups made their way down market streetútoday. ceremonies began with mass at saint patrick's church at third and mission. the parade started at 1130, went down market to civic center plaza. the mayor and other city leaders were there to celebrate irish heritage in the city. >> the weather couldn't be better and it's really exciting to be out here. i went to mass at saint patrick's with the irish community and that's my parish, and now we're having a great time out there. >> the saint patrick's day parade is the longest running parade in the city, going to the 1870s. the united irish societies of san francisco hosted the annual parade and celebration this theme of unity to highlight the diversity of communities in the city. ktvu james torres history of the parade and introduces us to >> for its 173rd year, san francisco's saint patrick's day parade showcased floats and

danville. as ktvu alice wertz explains, this bay area woman was a part of american history. >> happy birthday! it party thak place in danville on saturday. alice beck darrow turned 105. she wasn't expecting such a large celebration. >> no, i certainly was, but i'm happy to see everybody is a thrill. >> born in 1919 out of high school, alice beckúenrolled in nursing school, afterwards serving as a navy nurse working out of peralta hospital in oakland. when pearl harbor was attacked in 1941, injured

soldiers returning home, one had been blown off his boat as he was being plucked out of the water. the japanese were still firing when a boat came by to pick him up and he was pulling himself up like this into the boat. >> when they shot him, and he got shot in the back. >> four months after being treated for an appendicitis, the doctors did an x ray. >> they were shocked when they saw what was this bullet was in his heart. >> alice beck recalls being assigned to him as his nurse. >> he says,úmiss becky, if i ever get over this, when you go on liberty with me, which was the shock. so i said, oh, of course, they didn't think he was going to make it anyway. so together almost 50 years, her husband died in 1991 after raising a family of four in lake county. >> they were very active in military memorial events. she's one of the last living links to pearl harbor and well loved by friends, family and the community. >> we have gone on vacations

with alice and she's always very good at having a beer or a glass of wine. she is smart as a tack, playing games. she's staying right on top of everything. we took her to berryessa one year and she rode a wave runner and she's just she's just a wonderful woman. >> at her party, danville mayor karen stauffer presented alice darrow with a commendation. >> we don't do this for everybody because they don't all make it to 105. >> honoring her lifelong service to the community and the memory of those who served in world war two. for our country's freedom. whereas alice is one of the navy nurses league's most distinguished members. there was lots of food, flowers, cards and cupcakes. and of course, family and friends made this a memorial birthday for a navy nurse, one of the last of the greatest generations danville, alice wer, fox two news. >> love that story. happy birthday alice. an air show in the north bay now underway. and

redevelop overnight. first thing tomorrow morning, especially out toward the upper 4ps to right around 50 degrees in this forecast. models kind of picking up on some of the low clouds and fog tomorrow morning and then into the afternoon. our skies becoming talking about rain at all. coming up, we'll let you know if we have any rain chances in our five day forecast. christina. >> mark. thank you. in iceland, a volcano in southwest part of the the fourth time in less than 100 days. the eruption happened today outside the town of grindavik. fountains of molten rock could be seen soaring from a long break in the ground, and lava spreading rapidly on each side. authorities for weeks anúeruption was imminent. it occurred in the same area where there was an eruption just over five weeks ago. new at ten, boaters could soon be paying higher fees to keep their vessels in the san francisco marina boat yard. this week, the san francisco recreation and parks department notified boaters they'd like to make boaters pay 31.4% more to keep their boats in the boatyard. by

the summer of 2025. right now, the berthing fee for the smallest boat is $6,000 a year. tells the sf standard that this rate hike would make its operations in the marina more financially sustainable. the proposal for the new fee will be heard wednesday atúthe budget and finance committee. a portion of six city in pleasanton is currentlyúclosed and will stay shut down all weekend, so the crewn finish up a big repair job this is happening on southbound 680 between the 580 and 680 connector and koopmanrot night at 9 p.m. for repaving work. traffpprs to be slow and steady in thatúarea. cars avoiding the worksite as well. caltrans says that by closing thisúareaorhe full weekend, they're shrinking down. what would otherwise take three months worth of nighttime closures. should expect extra traffic are also several s that drivers can take, but most will likely use highway 84 or 5 80 to 880. these newly paved roads are set to open 4 a.m. monday morning. super tuesday

georgia's election interference case against donald trump resigned. fox's madeleine rivera explains how this latest move spcould hurt the district attory in forming a case against mr. trump. >> from a technical legal win fn county district attorney fani willis. in his resignation letter, special prosecutor nathan wade says he's stepping down in the interest of democracy and to move this case forward as quickly as possible. this should allow willis to continue her prosecution against former president trump and his allies. but her reputation is now in question. judge scott mcafee is slamming her for, quote, a tremendous lapse in judgment in pursuing a relationship with wade. details of her and wade's personal lives have been laid out in public. all of this could affect willis's ability to select a jury for instance, and thus impact how this case advances. and she's still facing several investigations, including one in

backyard of a home in florida. as construction crews were renovating the property. the bodyúwas found thursday by workers who spotted two feet sticking the rental property in magnolia gardens has been under renovation for 2 to 3 weeks now. the homeowner says the renter was living there before the renovations. then squatters took overc and left the place a mess. the owner, who did not want to be identified, says for the per& >> i want to offer my condolences to whoever they wish that on no one's family spthat they got to buried in a w grave. >> the case has been sent to the medical examiner's office, who will determine the cause of death in pennsylvania. a man is now in custody after police say he shot and killed two members of his family and the mother of his children. jennifer lee has more on how the suspected gunman is believed to have carried out the attacks. >> authorities say they've had minor contact with alleged shooter andre but nothing to ine
