developed at 16, and that was to make a difference and add value. and every position that i've gone to, that's what i sought to do, is make a difference and add value in public safety and community service. >> aubry will be the city's seventh independent police auditor. his first day on the job is may 6th. >> all right. a nice looking evening out there. beautiful day today. the weather has gradually been getting better as we move away from the weekend, which had some wet stuff on friday and into saturday a little bit. sunday was kind of cloudy and then temperatures have been stair stepping up. it's warmer today or was warmer today. it will be warmer tomorrow and but it doesn't get hot. it's going to be mid upper 70s. maybe a couple low 80s. but that's not really hot. it's not hard to get mid 80s upper 80s this time of year. it's because of this high pressure that's going to stay put. and with the high pressure there we are in a position to benefit with pretty relatively clear skies, except some clouds will be wafting in and out the next few days. partly cloudy, partly sunny, especially on thursday and friday, but the air is still sinking and so it
10:50 pm
warms. you won't get as much solar radiation because the sun's being filtered, but you will be getting the compressional warmth of the air sinking, and it warms as it sinks, warms the air when you lift air up. you knew this, right? when you live where up, it cools at about three degrees per 1000ft. an air parcel will cool about three degrees per 1000 when you sink it. when you push it down, it actually warms five degrees per thousand feet. so just sort of an interesting thing. you don't really think about air compressing and heating, but it does. okay. so here are the temperatures from today. and here come the temperatures for tomorrow essentially. or close to or hopefully they'll be right. i think i think 80in san jose sounds about right. that'll be the warm spot. and then we will continue on with temperatures in the mid 70s. upper 70s throughout much of the area. winds pretty light out there. there's all those clouds, very active pacific, but not for us. those clouds will be coming up over a dry weather ridge or a stable ridge, which is the pacific high, and it'll just be
10:51 pm
filtering in here. so right now, temperature 60 in fairfield, that's nice. and then what is it, nine degrees warmer in concord than it was last night. nine degrees warmer in livermore. so a mild warm night. overnight lows are going to be kind of pleasant too. they're not going to be in the 30s. they're going to be in the 40s and low 50s. so we are starting to feel like spring. and when i went out looking at the long range models, sometimes you do that. some of these models now, especially with ai, some of the models are really starting to do some things. and these long range models doesn't mean it's going to happen, but they're very bullish on a dry pattern for us pretty much for the next couple of weeks until the end of the month. but that's just, you know, fantasy models. i think right now we can count on this week being dry as what you do. here are the forecast numbers for tomorrow. so pretty nice. and that's how it goes again as we head into wednesday or thursday and then friday a little cooler because the clouds. but there you go a nice looking forecast and nice looking week ahead. yeah good stretch. >> all right bill thank you. it is official stanford is named the next head coach to take over for legendary women's basketball
