jan? >> reporter: natasha, erika, we want to stress that no one on this plane actually had ebola but it goes to show what just one comment will do, as is this nation and the teen r world worries about and tries to contain this deadly virus. by all accounts, us airways flight 845, from philadelphia to burnt a cane a was routine, that is until landing in the dominican republic to this announcement. >> i want you to keep your wits about you. we have people coming on, please, stay out of their way, let them do their jobs. >> what followed was a dramatic response by local health officials. captured on video bypass inning ers with cell phones. this youtube clip shows team in hazmat suits boarding the plane and headed to the back. according to the person who posted the video passengers told by flit attendants there was a situation, and passenger supply been in africa and had ebola. she was certain it was cents a hoax, but didn't take any chances.

eventually the team escorted an unidentified man from the plane, and the airline confirmed the incident in a statement reading in part: we are following the direction of and strictly adhering to all centers for disease control and prevention guidelines in place for airlines in response to the ebola virus. the flight was checked by officials and cleared. those in the medical community say they would have quickly learned if the case had been real and that this incident should remind people of how serious ebola has become. >> from the medical perspective, this does not seem to be hoax, joke, that went badly, i would advise people to take this seriously because ebola is no joke, and people are very anxious about it. >> now, passengers were let off of the plane in punt a cana2 hours after it landed the the airline goes ton say it is sorry for any inconvenience, but the safety of its passengers and its employees is the first priority. and in the coming days, 5us airports will start stricter

screening of people coming from west african countries, that starts in five airports, but philly is not one of them. jan carabeo, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". >> jan, thank you. meanwhile law make letters holds a hearing today in dallas over the death of thomas eric duncan, the first ebola pain don't die in the u.s. duncan was initially released from the hospital after he became ill. also, in dallas, health officials say a sheriff's deputy who exited symptoms of ebola tested negative for the disease. that deputy had been inside the dallas apartment shared by duncan. and, new this morning, two people are hospitalized in stable condition after a motorcycle accident in university city. "eyewitness news" at the scene on the 500 block of university ave. that is where police say a motorcycle collided with a car about 12:30 this morning. the 26 year old man was thrown about 10 feet off the motorcycle. police say he was not wearing a helmet at the time of this

crash. it is 5:03. let's check in on traffic and weather together. good morning, katie. >> good morning, everybody, do you have cool start, casino of like what we saw yesterday. but the skies are actually kind of like what we saw yesterday. still clear. so what's going on? just the beginning, my friends. start to see the clouds thicken, already evident here, that at least across the first state of delaware, and back in through maryland, you're starting to see the cloud cover take over. moving in from southwest, to northeast, we zoom out a smidge, shall we? there is the combination of the precipitation that will eventually move in. it looks as though again much like the cloud cover the rain moves in, from southwest to northeast, but it will take its time. looks like timing may be little later for the rain to make its arrival, which means you may get most of the day in here without needing the umbrella, so it kind of depend on how your day will pan out. if you have got maybe short day, half day at work, you could get away without the umbrella here today. i would say as early as is 3:00, 4:00, maybe 5:00 p.m., when we start see to see the first raindrops, generally falling down across delaware to start off.

>> protesters in st. louis, 18 year old black man and a police officer. we're told police in delaware country searching foremen, they say, are targeting the elderly in a burglary ring. investigators in darby looking for this man. they says' part of a group posing as is utility workers. police say one person stalled the victim and radios two others waiting nearby to burglarize the home. authorities arrested three suspects so far and continue to look for others involved. they know what they're doing. it is pretty good. it is pretty organized. and they're professional. and they're targeting the elderly. >> utility companies say they'll never sends someone to your home without calling first. if you think you may be a victim of this scam, you're asked to call darby police. protesters in st. louis meantime face-off with police, they're angered by the fatal shooting of 18 year old black man by off duty police officer. authorities say deandre-myers

killed wednesday night by officer working as security guard at the time. white office here killed myers was returning fire, but myers' parents say he was unarmed. myers' death comes two months after the august 9th fatal shooting of unarmed man michael brown in nearby ferguson, missouri. also, new information about jesse matthew, jr. this morning, that's the man implicated in the disappearance cents of two college students in virginia. sources now confirm that matthew was working asomugha cab driver the night virginia tech student morgan harrington disappeared. harrington was found dead in early 2010, months after she left a concert and never got home. matthew was never charged in that case, but he has been arrested, in the disappearance of university of virginia student, hannah graham, who vanished last month. the search for hand a -- hannah graham is ongoing. >> traffic and weather together in a moment. first look at the video, downpours dump almost 2 inches every rain near phoenix, arizona causing severe flooding. we have a look at the dramatic

tonight, into the first half of tomorrow, before it gradually tapers off from northwest to southeast through the day. so, in toward tomorrow evening, for example, if you have got outdoor plans, maybe still little damp, but the rain will have ended. torrey, over to you. >> thank you so much, katie. good morning, everyone, as of right now, we're awaiting the rush. still, waiting on the rush. as we approach 5:30, notice that traffic is moving fairly well out there. this is 95 right around bridge street, northbound traffic the traffic moving away from you, southbound the traffic coming toward you, and that's going to be all of those headlights. now, that delays will only grow bigger, right now not that bad. notice brakes inbetween the traffic, which is a good indicator not seeing too much after problem just yet. traveling on the 42 freeway, looking just as beautiful, headlights would be your northbound side. taillights would be southbound. and really all of our majors, not only in new jersey, but in pa, as well, are reflecting speed censors into the 50's, even 60s, traveling in new jersey, so do you have this good news. we do, however, have construction project on 295, affecting both sides of the roadway, between the black
