and where do you see this taking the african continent? i think it's a very important, 1st of all, thanks for having me on board. it's a very significant step from russia. and in fact, russia is following in the footsteps of china. because i think last year, china is already cancelled and forgiven the debt of $23.00 african countries. i mean, that's significant. and so russia doing the same thing really reduces the burden of debt to the african countries. but we might also say, we can't keep doing that. and what is really intro thing is that this sort of double header from russia and china puts an enormous amount of pressure on the west. and i'm quite happy that you mention how much this is putting pressure on the waist and would that so how do you see the wind going about as do you see them

rather following suit and doing the same thing that russia and china has been doing in terms of cutting these dates for african countries. the 1st is a traditional scenario, option one, where they're not going to change. they're in the business of making money. and making money means interest rate continuously gouge pool in the countries that are boring from them. and they keep blending, so they have a huge impact and influence on the way these countries are run because the whole, the purpose of these countries. and so that's option one, which means they're not gonna, it's a traditional behavior of capital is and funding institutions that they're not going to change easily. the pressure now that's coming from russia and china is really exposing if you want this sort of financial gouging, that these 4 countries of africa are going through. we've actually had

a lot of people, a lot of voices and opinions, saying that russia doesn't really just throw money into african economies in african countries. they actually help african economies make their own economy decisions. where do you stand on that? do you agree with the statement? well, who's going to give money away for free? it's very rare. you know, financial alter isn't today. as i said, again, is one in a 1000000. and when russia, china does this, people always very suspicious. because the idea is that who's going to give you money for free body, but there's a genuine sense from russia. and in fact, it serves russia as well. the rush is soft, power is now growing very fast and in what is really extraordinary is the pace at which russia and china a pushing these things, counseling loans, doing development things, and not just talking in glib about democracy. you know,

the summit and democracy organized. but the united states in them. yeah, i mean, and strange enough, the president said, you know, we don't eat democracy. so we need more than just the summit and democracy. and that's exactly what russia and china and other nations on are getting specially the nation from the south. what's called the global. so to move to a place where it's not just putting out thinktank papers, but to see real development infrastructure base on health, education, port, roads, and so forth to build those to the, the continent can really move forward. a lot of people do say that this is new, but we do get others as well that say this is just a continuation of an old relationship. but as an african analyst, how do you explain this? is this a continuation between russia and the african economies? the point is not how know it is. you know,

the point is how good and rewarding and profitable it can be to africa. being all the new with sitting with the old relationship with the west. it hasn't produced much at all, miseries and you know, terrorism, all kinds of terrible things. unemployment is that africa is probably got now one of the highest unemployment in the worlds, not just in general, but among the youth or just, you know, running away migrating to europe and dying in the, in the mediterranean. not only that, but also the inequalities of going up in addition to that inequality is not just not, but also, you know, the fact that people are just not feeling that things are working. so they will consider new or old, as long as it delivers a for want to take the chinese don't show pinks point doesn't matter how white or
