with the state leaders for continued so forth of art and culture in san francisco, california i like to take a moment to commissioner mccoy and the chair by the president collins executive committee meeting commissioner mccoy submitted her resignation and on a personal note miss her compassion and the segments of the - her husband are energetic in the eco system and they are san francisco treasures i look forward to all that is all accomplish together on behalf of the wonderful city and on behalf of the staff of the san francisco parks alliance thank you commissioner mccoy to her services and wish her the best

on the personal endeavors to continue cultivating the arts overseeing events and activating those endeavors in san francisco we'll work working closely with the mayors director to find a commitment for the remainder of commissioner mccoy her term for 2026 i'd like to share a few highlights from some recent events on march 14th i attend a reception honoring penn and san francisco a century of style and hosted a congestive heart failures screening video from our 202270 public aortas the i know of i thought and

afghanistan for the impacts of western authorize literature open on the culture and march 21st i attended the california arts 24 gala with jabbing over $1.24 million for student scholarships were awarded and say that that evening is the real coming out party of their president david who the new president of cca we welcome him to the new leader and african-american leader in the city and 6 san francisco. and that david on the left in the picture in the photo. on march 21st, sorry march 26th i

attended the new body of work brit and spoke at annual town hall and the celebration by the mayor and shelving davis and director hillis and chair mandelman and a to of other folks were there and it was a really nice evening and on march 29th later on that evening attended the permanent of sign my name to freedom and um, it um, was a wonderful celebration of betty reed and as you can see a bay area leenld one hundred and two years old as a paperwork

animal that shows the street art that bridges the past, present, and future and the poster is on view along market street at 15 sfmta shelters through june 24th and so march 26th a call for artists for the 11 and the park project and artists where the opportunity to design up to 13 hundred square feet for the 11 street frontage of park as part of the public art opportunity. inflammations for this art are due may 1st, by 11:59 p.m. and share early last week our temporary exhibition green by artists david was taken down the

installation on view for the past 16 months and featured 6, 9 foot tall 3-d printed sculptures and staff will select the next installation a whimsical vacation i love that that is pretty cool (laughter) and i remembered we went down there so h.r. updates i'm happy to share we have recently recently selected a consultant for the audit an additional pubically artwork for the collection the details are finalized and look forward to share that soon and a strategic plan update as you can see in the december full commission a consultant presented an overview of overall process i'm sorry to

share that due to recent internal changes they're no longer able to continue work on that project and we have moved to end the contract we thank the work they've completed so far and will secure a new team and share the updates once the updates are finalized and like to share with commission we filed for a workplace restraining order against a member of the public made concerning threats towards the arts commission the court has granted the individual to stay one hundred from the war memorial and whichever to have a restraining order for one to three years and scheduled to be held the hearing on the 18

aluminum fence and entry gate only was 11th street frontage of the park in blue on the attached picture. the artists will be responsible for the design of up to 13 hundred square feet of fenced fabricated by a separate contractor and paid by the rec and park department the total enrichment is and the only contract budget it $25,000. the request for qualifications was listed march 26th and open to all artists teams residing in the united states and recruitment on the arts for the meaningful connection to the patoma the world role by artists was present the actor was

selected in 2018 and the design approved in 2019 and now is up. >> as you can see in the pictures one thing we noticed in our meeting how it drafts the fences were covered with art this is even more money the artwork uses the circle to reference the process that occurs at the headwork at the southeast treatment center that processes 80 percent of city's wastewater and the new installed artwork is three hundred plus square feet and highlights the movement of water from court to clean in the aluminum that transitioned from light to dark and steel panels behind the fence that makes visible the

water structure the city um, making it visual and the dynamic artwork it is the light of the day changes so another huge applauds to the partnership of sfmta and this long-standing project is great to see it come to completion and um, as president collins said at the meeting thank you, again, for joining us president collins. this part of the city does a huge responsibility for the city having this in the neighborhood so san francisco, california do it make it as beautiful as educated so. thank you, again. to puc and thank you for this project up and calling for any commissioners discussion or

qualifications for emerging artists with an aim of celebrating two for this program. one artist based in san francisco and the other based in the by the way, we received one hundred and 69 applications and the selected arts are front park and sheree and more about the artists. an artist educator and activist born and raised in iran and baselines in berkley california and practice around the disciplinary basic ass permission under the come inch and the work investigates and aesthetics and object to envision and world library board

relevant given what is happening across the country again, some of the most marginalized numbers of our country by not binary and young people are exercising hurt as a result of so many policymakers x multiple sclerosis a lot of of the negative rhetoric and 4ru7b9 learning in your history and be lgbtq+ it is important, important than any time in our history so, you know, for san

francisco community opened this incredible resource um, for thousands of people to enjoy over 10 years ago. um, the museum was the first of its kind in the country and located in the castro neighborhood and our archives in the 345r9 and opened for hundreds of researchers and educators and students addresses activists and students to engage with over 1,000 collections of lgbtq+ commercial over circumferences in california and in 2021-2022 mayor london breed took the initiative to provide resources in the city budget to insures this is permanent space for a museum of lgbtq+ history and encouragement and we need to

do do predevelopment work necessary to make sure that once the doors open on a permanent facility um, it is as financially and proving sustainable as potential an organization that needs to operate this space in perpetuity to be able to continue to steward that such incredibly historic material for generations to come i really want to thank you very much for your consideration of this motion before you and i'll be happy to answer any questions you may have. >> and i'm sure also deputy director of programs can answer any administrative questions as well as working on this particular um, motion in front of you. >>. thank you very much. >> any questions or comments or discussion from the commission?
