weekend, saturday morning, rainy conditions, windy conditions and, also, those cold temperatures. so we are looking at a rainy start to the day, else spiblly shore points. i'll show you a closer look at the rest of the weekend's forecast coming up. >> now, to the very latest on the threat of a strike by septa's union. we have reporters outside of the hotel all day and night waiting for a decision. george spencer joins us live. george, what is the latest that you're hearing? >> reporter: sources tell us right now, the two sides are going over this tentative hearing with a fine-toothded comb signing it before they address the media. but at this time, you can be confident that the riders can keep romming in next week. there's some 900,000 daily rides.

the strike made all the more threatening with election day coming up next tuesday. burr a coalition of political leaders have been here alongside the hotel offering their support and encouragement. from what we know of their sources, of the tentative deal that's been reached, is that it would be a two-year contract for the city division. in the end, it seems that the smaller frontier and red arrow lines ended upholding up negotiations more and lengthening them more on the backside after the main city component was already complete. but, right now, it does appear that this deal is mostly done. the finishing touches are being put on it and riders can breathe a sigh of relief. we are expecting septa leadership and union leadership to come out in the next 15 minutes. we will bring you that press conference live as soon as it happens. i'm george spencer, nbc 10 news. >> tonight, a sense of normalcy returns to the poconos.

about 24 hours after the capture of eric frein, we're getting our first glimpse inside the harnger where a man charged with killing a state trooper was caught. plus, we'm hear from a u.s. marshal who took him down. >> jim, sources tell us they found an electronic device there, too, belonging to frein. now they're checking to see if he was in contact with anybody. in the meantime, officers have been out all night in the poconos in a different mind set. helping trick or treaters out in the wake of a $10 million man hunt. >> when i first heard that they caught him, i actually got goose bumps. >> exposure to the elements. >> eric, are you sorry? >> he faced angry residents after telling a judge he understood he could face the death penalty. >> do you feel bad? those little boys have no father. >> tonight, a look inside the

game tonight, parents and students showed school spirit but they were also disappointed. >> it's our last year and we're playing our biggest rooifrl and everyone is so worried about the scandal. >> many were discouraged after learning police were investigating sexually elicit photos. >> it's sad. it's going to ruin their futures. it's going to be -- they have no idea what they're doing. it's crazy stuff. >> school officials tell us they were tipped off today by students who saw the inappropriate photos on classmates cell phones while at school. we're told some of the alleged texts include nude images of other students. >> i think kids today just walk around with their cell phones and are oblivious to wlafr is happening around them. they think they're above the law, above morals. >> parents of the student involved are being notified. meantime, school officials make

offered to fly the child to detroit for sex. minimum of 15 years in prison. >> to decision 2014 and the candidates for pennsylvania governor are going town-to-town this weekend, making their case to the voters. today, tom corbett campaigned akroz e kroz u crossed eastern pennsylvania and tomorrow, the governor will travel from harrisburg to willing bar and sunday, back in our area with new jersey governor chris christie. three in our area, allen town, quakertown and phoenixville. he'll stay in the area tomorrow and on sunday, he'll join president obama for a rally at temple university. there are now only 230ur days left. election day is tuesday, november 4th. there will be federal, state and local elections in pennsylvania, new jersey and delaware.

a health alert after another case of whooping cough. students aren't giving any details, but warned parents that the children at the school may have been exposed. whooping cough offer often noen as per tus sis is highly contagious. it's known for causing uncontrollable coughing. >> a maine judge has ruled that a nurse does not have to stay at home for the rest of her 23121-day quarantine period. the state of maine wanted to keep her isolated before her 21-day isolation period is over. the judge is only requires daily monitoring. yesterday, she broke the state's voluntary quarantine by going to a bike ride and talking to reporters. the ruling is unfortunate, but

there was no need to have a strike whern we couldn't resoft v the issues. i gives us an opportunity to work over the next two years to solidify our e over our concerns. >> thank you, all. >> that is the transit worker's union president willy brown announcing that a two-year deal has been reached to avoid a strike for some 4700 transit workers as he said, this still has to be brought to the 34e78 beryls for them to rat fill. but, again, tonight, after long talks that we've bchb following all day long for many, many weeks now, there will not be a septa strike. we'll continue to follow this story and bring you updates on nbc10 opinion com.

>> brandon turner is accused of kidnapping his wife, keeping her duct taped to a bud for a wreak. authorities say the estranged husband brought her to mcdonalds yesterday where she wrote her plea for help in the bathroom. police used surveillance video to track down the pair. turner is being held on $600,000 bail. >> meteorologist sheena parvine. >> certainly a chilly halloween for the trick-or 46 treaters. now we have some rain moving in. so rain overnight tonight. just a few showers around at the moment. but more rain will move in for the start of your weekend. kind of a rainy saturday. also, windy and cold. it will stay windy an cold for both saturday and sunday. but the rain looking out for the first part of your week. at least that's the good news. temperatures through the lehigh valley in the upper 40s here.

50 degrees, philadelphia. 51, ben salem. low to mid to upper 40s and e and west chester. areas in dep de, the upper 40ss. slowly we'll start to drop into the mid 40s. here's what the radar looks like. we don't have a lot of rain and at the moment, but we do have some scattered showers starting to make their rain off inland. rain, offshore in coastal counties. that will be mooifing in overnight tonight. but the rain that we do have around now is mostly moving into the lehigh valley across 476. a few showers moving into parts of chester, montgomery county. nothing heavy at this time. we are looking at a lot of cold air, though, moving in. this same time, we'll see the rain moving over the week. so you see snow up to our north and also off to our wesz where they do expect accumulating snow. and all of this cold air is going to be moving in for saturday and sunday.

here's future weather. winds could be gusting here at 35 miles an hour. then, going through the middle of the day tomorrow, we'll see more rain moving in, especially for south jersey and delaware. the best champbs of not seeing as much rain will be saturday in philadelphia. and then the rain clears out late saturday and going into sunday, we dry out. morning lows will be in the 30s. it will be a cold start for your sunday, especially monday, too. dropping into mid 40s in philadelphia, around 40 degrees north and west. tomorrow, rainy, 48-51 officer the high tempture. and then, as we go into sunday, it will stay windy and cold and at least it will be dry. tomorrow morning, don't forget to set your clocks back one hour. so you technically gain an hour of sleep.
