>> we are seeing guys, a couple of rain drops but looking at the radar so far this morning, but this is, you know, nothing compared to what is heading our way. we will take a look at the sweep around our area, the tri-state sweep i like to call it being made on storm scan three. you can see a few speckles of green and that is in fact, showing up, on the ground as well. so sometimes we see things on radar that are not there but in this case it is. the moisture is here and it will be here until this front crosses through. lets look at the the wall of whatever that is heading our way. this is going to be some seriously heavy rain, guys when it finally gets here. the fact that it is only a little bit of sunlight out there right now, it is only helping our case. gusty thunderstorms firing up along with this. so when this does get in here it is in the just rain that we will be dealing w71 is the current temperature at the airport. lower 07's around the board. it is incredibly mild. thinks already warmer then our normal daytime high on this day of the year. can you tell where front crossed through? pretty obvious, right. rain cooled air is in state college, pittsburgh and new that the frontal boundary has a chance to start clearing and

the eastbound side of the schuylkill with that accident out of the way, you'll finally have some more movement out of the area, of king of prussia, because, the delay that was from that accident stretched all the way back to king of prussia everybody tonight red try to get into center city and traveling 9 miles an hour. you will need to give yourself more time. expect delays on 476 and 95 as well and on the 42 and 55 in new jersey, erika. >> torey, thank you. we have more breaking news in the ebola out break. overnight another health care worker at a dallas hospital, tested positive for the deadly disease. that worker was among dozens who treated ebola patient michael duncan. now -- thomas eric duncan rather this is new video of crews decontaminating that person's dallas apartment. teams of workers wearing protective gear are on the scene right now. the entire area has been sealed off until the work is complete. meanwhile the dallas nurse who was also infected to continue

to show signs of improvement. nina pham is in good condition this morning and thanking her supporters. as concern grow about ebola in the u.s. delaware county officials will be discussing the school system readiness in the event of an out break. "eyewitness news" reporter jan carabao joins us from drexel hill where a safe schools summit gets underway later this morning, jan, good morning. >> reporter: good morning, erika. thinks the annual safe schools sum tonight delaware county. it has been happening here for more than a tech cade new but this one is shaping up to be the biggest ever with more than 400 people scheduled to arrive in the next half an hour or so. and a new topic this year, about infectious diseases, like enterovirus and specifically today, ebola. this conversation happens one day after the county announced its task force report as ebola takes its toll in west africa, health officials here in the delaware valley are preparing for a potential kay of our own. >> people are understandingably nerve news this day and age.

a contagious virus is only a plane ride away. >> reporter: towns ill chairman thomas says delaware county's ready to handle ebola should a case develop. today's discussion turns specifically to school preparedness. >> we need to make sure that when a parent sends a child to school, that child comes home safe and sound. >> reporter: county health officials have actually been preparing for ebola for months now. a new ebola tax force convene for the first time yesterday at county nine # one who has started screening callers for the virus. >> first thing we ask is there a fever, greater then 101.5 degrees or 38 degrees celsius. >> reporter: hospitals and first responders will communicate and coordinate any possible cases. a special e ms response plan has been developed to he have safely treat and isolate potential patients. health officials say that they have also been reaching out to members of the liberia community live in delaware county. >> we have a community from west africa, we have large immigrant population, from all parts of the world. we must take the necessary

precautions. >> now this summit is scheduled to begin around 8:30 this morning with those panel discussion about enterovirus and e bowl a happening around 9:00 three. we have local leaders, we have county health department as well as the district attorney's office. reporting live from drexel hill, jane carabao for "eyewitness news" at cw philly. >> thank you, jan. breaking news from north philadelphia, shooting in olney wounds two men. gunfire hits cars and homes in the area "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer is at police headquarters to tell you all bit, nicole. >> reporter: and ukee, police are hoping that surveillance video helps them track down these two shooters, again wanted in connection with that double shooting that left two men hospitalized. also struck homes and vehicles, with gunfire. an argument in olney resulted in a double shooting wednesday morning that could have been much worse, considering the number of gunshots found.

>> we found four parked unattended vehicles struck by gunfire. we also found three homes on the south side of the two turn block of wellens street, that were struck by fun fire. >> reporter: it all happened around 12:30 near third and west wellens avenue when police responded to multiple 911 calls after a reported dispute in that area. >> from witnesses, and there are multiple witnesses, there was some sort of an argument. we don't know what the argument was over. >> reporter: when authorities arrived they learned that a 20 year-old male with a grazed wound to his chest and 23 year-old male shot in the head were taken to einstein hospital, by private vehicles, and listed in stable condition. fortunately the the victim couped stops there. >> one of the homes, the living room wall and entered through siding and went in the living room wall of this occupied property where a husband and wife and a 23 year-old daughter, fortunately luckily were upstairs asleep at the time. >> reporter: shooter is described only as two males fled north through a rear alley from third street and

possibly entered a white vehicle. so again, we have mention that had surveillance video, police were able to obtain it from a local school and nearby businesses, hopefully that will aid them in their investigation. live outside police headquarters, nicole brewer, "eyewitness news" at cw philly. >> nicole, thank you. new this morning a roll over crash on the boulevard leaves a man fighting for his life. "eyewitness news" at 7400 block just north of cottman avenue, police tell thaws car struck a tree and then flipped over. the driver was then thrown about 15 feet from the car and then was unconscious when philadelphia medics rushed him to the hospital. police in south jersey are asking for public's help in locating this man thomas graham, the 68 year-old was last seen in the area of stone harbor manor yesterday afternoon. police say his wife contacted authorities after he failed to return home before dark. it is believed he was operating a jet sky at the time of his disappearance. a jury sentences a montgomery county man for a

death for murder of a baby and her grandmother. ragu yandamuri reportedly showed no emotion when the decision was handed down in court last night. yandamuri was convicted of stabbing 61 year-old saanvi venna to death and hen killing her grand daughter in 2012. a formal sentencing hearing is scheduled for next month. happening to daze, first lady michelle obama heads to philadelphia to campaign for democratic gubernatorial candidate tom wolf. the first lady will appear this morning at dorothy emmanuel recreational center in nor west philadelphia for the november 4th elections. in several polls wolf holds double digit leads over republican incumbent tom corbett. a 90 year-old would mains murdered in northeast pennsylvania. and the the suspect, a ten year-old boy. authorities will be trying him as an adult. christian carilla has a bail hearing accused of killing helen novac over the weekend while visiting his grandfather who was her caretaker.

any sunlight that is left, pretty much will be done for the day. let's show you why. we have been talking about this storm system. very wide zoom where we will continue to track soaking rain, major out breaks of severe weather, primarily all across the deep south and today my friend we are looking at the brunt of this frontal boundary passing through our area, and yeah, talk about looming heavy rain, report. back towards state college and we have had incredible rain. the mere fact that we have a little bit of sunshine out here is what makes me think we have a shot to see gusty thunderstorms. not as predominant a severe threat here as we saw in the deep south but you could talk about minor flooding. gusts and peak as high as 35 to 40 miles an hour. that will leave behind damp leaves because it will create slicker travel for you out there on the sidewalks and roadways. you have to keith it, play it safe traveling. no matter fit is by foot, bike

or by roadway. be careful. seventy-one currently at the airport. i have to tell you it feels nice out here at the moment, on the skies deck but as we go through the day, despite us hitting 71 degrees, clouds build, we will see showers. eventually we will see that turn into a steady heavy rain and there will be thunderstorms by early tomorrow morning, back edge of the front is clearing out and when we do clear out we are in for pleasant weather as we wrap up the workweek officially. vittoria. >> thanks, katie. >> good morning, everyone. we have a lot of things to talk about this morning for your commute. lets start with the pennsylvania turnpike. eastbound on the pennsylvania turnpike at valley forge we have a very serious accident right at the the interchange, it is delaying things back into downingtown. be mindful of that. also on the pennsylvania turnpike westbound, at bensalem we have a vehicle fire and westbound side of the turnpike is jammed, out of the bucks county and then all the way down through the mid county toll plaza i would not be surprised if you even felt some of that volume, following you out towards valley forge because of the gaper delay at that westbound accident.

we just have tons of traffic out there, even on i-95, i-95 you are commute nothing delaware county. thinks a great birds eye view of the delay we're seeing on the northbound side of 95 and it is residual volume from an earlier accident that we had as we approached the area of 320. that accident has been cleared but now, through the delaware state line all the way through to 476, you are jammed, on the northbound side of 95. and, that is not it, as we take you now to 476, if you are commuting in the southbound direction, we are had two directions and accidents on the schuylkill both of them around belmont area. one ease and westbound. they have bone been cleared. but that eastbound accident really cleared 76 back towards 476, which in turn, delayed 476 southbound all the way through mid county toll plaza anywhere you are traveling right now, that will usually take you one time, double it now and make sure you fill up at the pump because you will need extra gas today, ukee. >> a suspect's car drags a police officers in bergen county, new jersey and it is caught on dash cam. investigators say it all started at a police checkpoint

last week when a man was with several outstanding warrants was discovered. at man, tried to drive a waste and the officer held on. by the time he freed himself the man led police on a high speed chase and he now faces assault and drug charges. and a woman's car goes off a cliff and then crashes in to a ravine in california. the she's trapped for nearly 24 hours inside of her car. that dramatic rescue was caught on camera. and don champion has the story of how a quick thinking police officer armed with the right technology, was able to save her life. >> reporter: the sight of 28 year-old melissa vasquez's rescue is incredible enough, but the story behind it is even more intriguing. >> i think there is a little bit more just dumb lick, i think somebody was looking out for her. >> reporter: camden county police officer david cam yan helped save her life. melissa spent 19 hours in the bottom of the 500-foot ravine have after getting into an accident on the san jose roadway, monday afternoon. when the on star system in

melissa's chevy to the wrong location twice, officer camera's detective work savedded day. >> just throwing stuff on the walk and saw what stuck. >> reporter: cameron got her ipad and used the find my i phone app to find her location but first he had to crack melissa's four digit pass war. >> i made an educated guess, based on a series of common numbers that people use for pass words. and on the third attempt i was able to get in. >> reporter: cameron gave searchers an accurate location for melissa. she was found outside of her car face down, but conscious. family members are thankful. >> we all just want her to be okay. >> it was just a huge effort on everybody's part. >> melissa is in intensive care but is expected to recover. don champion for cbs news. our time 8:18. where does philly fall on the best sit toys trick or treat in on that listst, we will tell

colored pumpkin if they are offering things like stickers or toys as an alternative to candy. >> we get that is what halloween is all about but we would love it so that kids with food allergies can at least have idea that they can participate and also feel safe. >> reporter: doctor robert, is a pediatric allergist, he says that halloween is especially dangerous to kids with food allergies because individually wrapped candy often doesn't have ingredient listed. >> i have had patients who have had severe reactions from canned that i they thought did not have tree nuts. this he were told did not have tree nuts or peanuts that did. >> reporter: food allergy research and education organization or fair, the group behind the tiehl pumpkin project, has seen its original facebook post, urging families to go tiehl this halloween, and it shared american 38,000 times. rearly nearly 4 million people. they hope families with or without allergies take part.

hi, good morning, i'm ukee washington. new this morning camden's new grocery store opens up its doors filling a big void for shoppers. new price right on mount evefram avenue is filled with shoppers. story places pathmark that closed last year. price right is only grocery store in the city of camden and the first, new one, in almost 40 years. shoppers should have their rain gear that is for sure here's katie. >> very good advice for sure. have something ready to go, umbrella, slicker, whatever you want when that mess over my shoulder starts to move in. it is really coming down out there, between harrisburg and state college where it is heavier rain moving in here. this is just a leading edge of the potent cold front we have been talking about all week long here.

so already we have seen the clouds start to thicken. we have seen a few rain drops falling through our western most counties but it is still warm enough to get you to the upper 70's. tonight we will hit 63p in between there heavy rain, gusty thunderstorms will start to roll in through here because of the frontal boundary itself and then starts to clear out through the the course of the relevant i morning there will be lingering showers if not steady rain or thunderstorms but we will dry out and as a result friday is looking very nice indeed, vittoria. >> thanks very much. >> you need something to look forward to because right now on the majors we are dealing with heavy delays and incident, that are very serious. taking a look at live chopper three, this is the pennsylvania turnpike eastbound an accident that is compromising left-hand lane in one of the lanes you head toward the toll plaza it looks like they are blocking one of the shoulder as well to maneuver and take care of that incident. if you are traveling in that area, downingtown stretch all the way through that incident is jammed and watch out for a vehicle fire on the turnpike

right new we have breaking news homes and cars blasted with bullets overnight when gunman opened fire in a local neighborhood. >> gunfire in olney also sent two men to the hospital. "eyewitness news" reporter nicole brewer joins us at police headquarters with the very latest on this investigation, nicole. >> reporter: ukee and erika police are saying residents in olney and that neighborhood are lucky this morning and after two vick stimes struck. that gunfire striking holes and cars. the lets set the stage for you of how this all happened. it went down 12:30 near third and west wellens a avenue when police responded to multi in i am 911 calls after a reported dispute. some kind of an argument. they are not sure how it started if you when authorities arrived they found a large crowd of witnesses, several shell casings scattered throughout the area. but no victims. it turns out that a 20 year-old male, with a grazed wound to his chest and also a 23 year-old male, shot in the hip, were both taken by private vehicle to einstein

hospital, and now is in stable condition, but, the good news in all of this is there were no additional victims just those two in men, despite three homes and four vehicles struck. >> one of the homes the bullet actually went in through the living room wall, entered through the siding, went in the living room wall of this occupied property where a husband and wife and 23 year-old daughter fortunately luckily were upstairs asleep at the time. so the 40 houses struck by gunfire there are no injuries and police check on the well-being in all of these homes and there are no injuries from stray bullets. now, at this point the the shooters are only being described as two males, we're told they fled north through a rear alley and supposedly got in the white vehicle, again, this morning police still investigating, still searching for those shooters. fortunately they will have surveillance video to help them in their search. we are live outside police headquarters, nicole brewer,

"eyewitness news" at cw philly. >> okay, nicole, thank you. breaking news right now a soaked female health care worker in texas tests positive fore bowl. the woman was one of 77 people who helped take care of thomas eric dunn an after he was diagnosis. we have some new video here of crews decontaminating that women's apartment in dallas. the entire area has been sealed off while crewness yellow hazmat suits go to work. we have learned that the woman lived alone and had no pets. the other infected nurse, nina pham is recovering and she's in good condition. a philadelphia doctor lend her expertise, in battling ebola in west africa. doctor east lean farnab is an associate professor of medicine at temple university hospital. she sent us a pictures of the unit a a clinic lie beer y doctor farnan says is there a major effort underway to prevent new infections. >> it the is incredibly important at this time that we don't to things like ban flights and that we don't let the the fear and anxiety of

sunlight. so, eventually heavy rain start offing with showers, granted but you can tell that there is a lot of moisture funneled in here. when we take it at a horizontal level here if you look closely you can see how the stream of moisture is being fed up. so what we will see is moisture being fed up with the basic wet to ease movement, and that means pockets of heavy rain coming through. i have a feeling our rainfall totals may be scattered or we will see a mixed bag variety pack out of this were it is all said and done. any sunlight right now don't get used to it. take your umbrella or rain gear if you are out all day to take. that rain will move in and it will douse new places. >> do not get a spray tan. do not get a spray tan. thankfully i got mine yesterday. good morning, everybody. we have major accidents to tell you on a serious note pennsylvania turnpike eastbound at valley forge. an incident is blocking left-hand lane at valley forge interchange and it is causing

a 6-mile backup. yes, not fun there. and as you will notice all over this map here and since we're talking about it, this might as well be mid county toll plaza. if you are trying get to the schuylkill you are jammed there too. on the schuylkill you are delayed from the western suburbs from the king of prussia area all the way down to center city. traveling on the with us bound side of the pennsylvania turnpike we have delays there, as well, stemming all the way back into bucks county and then as you seen through mid county toll plaza also eastbound on the pennsylvania turnpike bensalem we have a vehicle fire, that is causing a setback as well and on top of these incident we have setbacks on all of our other majors. fourteen on your schuylkill, 18 on i-95 southbound heading out of the north east, 18 on 476 and traveling in new jersey northbound 42, northbound 55 we are seeing delays as well. no major delays from mass transit. a grieving family is looking for answer as after a moth power is run off the road and killed. a driver cut out lisa demayo

in the southbound lanes of i-95 in bensalem. demayo swerved, her vehicle hit a guardrail and flipped over multiple times. her husband was on the phone with his wife at the time of the crash. >> then i heard a scream and i was yelling on the phone, until someone could hear me. >> i heard daddy yelling, and i got scared. >> police are looking for a late 90's or early 2,000 model, black sedan, that they believe played a role in that crash. a federal bankruptcy judge, will decide the fate of trump taj mahal casino on friday. judge will deciding whether to terminate the union contract, with the atlantic city gaming hall, and trump entertainment resorts plan to close the casino november 13th unless it gets relief from pension and health care obligations. trump taj mahal employees 3,000 workers. happening today pennsylvania governor tom corbett will sign hanna's law. that bill is made for hanna a

bristol township bucks county native. hanna is fighting crabe disease a rare, deadly disorder affecting one in 100,000 new borns. legislation requires, hospitals, to offer prenatal screening for crabe and five other diseases. camden is getting serious about getting rid of vacant houses. officials started taking bids for a project to demolish 600 abandoned structures. first to go down would be three properties in crammer hill, at 61 in whitman park. authorities say that gangs used abandoned properties to hide drugs, guns and commit violence. a beer controversy is brewing in the chester county sports complex. it is swirling around united sports training center in west bradford. owners there want to start selling beer to adult patrons but some residents say not so fast. they packed last night's board of supervisors meeting. that is where our todd quinones picks up the story. >> reporter: as the only up
