>> i love coming here. i love it. >> jimmy: i want to talk about the book. i want to talk about so many things. gre thing i want to talk about, i saw you on ins and i love it. it's a great account to follow t if you like ram. but you made me laugh, who is carl, your ski instructor? >> carl is my 95-year-old ski instruor that i met in park city. when i met him, he was -- well, he was 9when i met him. and then, every day we were together he felt like he was agg a year. and so by the time i left him he was 98 and a half. >> jmy: oh, my goodness. >> but he's very spry and agile as you can tell by the picture.r he's a great s so, of course, i was so turned on by that. i like any man who's in arge of me on a mountain, i don't care if they're 106. no, i become sexually attracted. i'm like, oh my god this man is going to protect me.al i mean, we'vfelt it. the guys in this room have also felt it, okay? [ laughter ] >> well, there were dogs in my bedroom. it was actual dogs. i had a scue that i hadn't really slept with yet, not that way, obviously. he had spent the night with me. so i put him upstairs with my he two dogs who had been with me for a long time, thinking i was going to keep the new dog. his name was john, for t night i had him. and then i woke up -- i just figure dogs will be dogs. you know? just let it happen, however it's going to happen. i went to bed, or passed out, or blacked out, o remembers. [ laughter ] anyway, when i woke up, the

dogs were on top of ch other. my little dog, tammy, was wrapped around and she was a a third of the size of this dog, jn. and she was wrapped around him like a little anaconda. and i was like, oh, my god. i was in a bra and underwear, which is how i sleep. i tried to separate them. i threw one dog in my closet.r and anotter -- you know, it was like cujo stuff. it was serious. and at 12:30 in the morng, i'm just coming to, and half dressed. and thenhere was blood. and i was like, oh, i was so scared. when i looked down, when i finally had gotten rid of both of the dogs, i had seen they scratched me right next to my nipple and my bra was off. and i thought the only way to reviewhis would be with security cameras from my house and a group of people on mushrooms. so that's what we did. [ laughter ] and my assistant put "rocky" to -- he put the music -- the song "rocky" to it. so it's like - [ singing ] and i look like a courtney lovet running arou living room in the middle of the night. a hot mess. yeah, so, yeah. i'm not very good at parenting dogs, but i

love dogs, and i le them to be in my home. >> jimmy: you have a lot of e, dogs in your lere. there's a couple of photos hereof the dogs. >> that's chunk. chunk is deceased but he was my first born so he was like my first son. and tammy was a harlot and i rescued her, she looked like a a tramp. so i got her. >> jimmy: these are the two new guys. >> bert and bernice. bert is --they're ster, brother. chick and chow. i mean, not chine chicken chow, that's a salad, sorry. chow, they're part chow, part -- what's the other part? rottweiler. so they're brother and sister, and one's a big fat potato and the ote's just kind of a a little bitch. tcan look at a person's personality and sas is what you need. you need an edible with this much thc versus this much cb i know if somebody needs to -- i know if somebody needs a , a xanax versus an addera versus a nuvigil, versus an ambien. i'm very well versed in the keole arena. >> jimmy: holy ml. amazing. >> but i do feel passionately about cannabis. i'm coming outnnith my own is line. not yet but in the summer because i feel like we really have to turn our backs on the opioid and the pharmaceutical industry and really just say say screw you to all of them. [ applause ] and focus on the things that are growing out of the ground to help us, that's called marijuana. it helps millions of pple and we all need to get on board. so i'm very passionate about that. >> jimmy: good for you for doing that. [ applause ] i got to tell you, i love all your books. and you've been on -- thank you so much for coming on our show isr your other books, but one really hit me, it really got me.

it basically -- it's very, very funny, obviously, but it goes really deep into you and shows you actually going into psychotherapy. >> yeah, i guess that's the word for it, right? psychotherapy. j my: yeah. >> yes, i went to a a psychiatrist after the election because i couldn't handle what was happening, and my reaction was so out of control, and i was so filled with anger and i didn't want to be in a place where i was just going to react. i wanted to be in a place of action where i could do something and be of use. i di't think i would ever have to visit my own childhood. my brother died when i was a a little gir my mother passed away. i just thought i was tough and i could handle anything. i never thout i had to talk to anybody about it and i was wrong. le order for me -- what i realized after theion, in order for me to really do something meaningful and make a a ntribution instead of ju cashing checks, hosting a late night show, i thought i really have to dig deep and find out what my issues are.

[ laughter ] >> jimmy: i don't know if i could do that. i'm going to live vicariously through you. you really talk about your brotr in here -- and him passing away. it is like -- unbelievable, m there's y things i'll never forget about you just reading this. but what an inspiration you are whto anyone who's out ther can't afford therapy, just thinking about, oh, this kind of stuff happened in my life too, that i never realized that that was stoppinme from growing past 10 years old or 9 years old. >> yeah. i think it's so important for us all to be talking about the r things thauncomfortable to talk about. okay, the world's a hot mess so let's get honest with each other. and grief -- i've made a career out of oversharing and being loud and obnoxious, so i itought it was my -- this is the perfect opportto turn the page. and to write something of import and say, here's my or i was struggling with all of these things, i know there are millions of people

[ laughter ] >> jimmy: you do it but you do it in a funny way. it's a very well done book. ife will be the death of me," is the book. i also want to mention the netflidocumentary. i love the way you make these turns. you're like, i'm just going to do a documentary whenever on a a subject i feel like doing with netflix and release it. something that's a little you have a new one coming out in september. >> september.hi i did one on privilege, my own. because after i had this reassessment, and i just thought, okay, what kind of stuff am i putting out in the world, and i thought i was successful because i was talented.di 't think about the color of my skin or the fact that i grew up with privilege or that just by being white in thi country is a huge privilege. a lot of us don't think about that. and i really opened my eyes when i realized racism isn't dead, women's rights, we haven't hit the glass. nothing happened in the last

couple years to make us believe in allis naive thinking, i was thinking. it feels good to be awake and understand that these are issues that are not going away any time soon. and to be pa of the solution rather than being part the problem. >> jimmy: it comes out in september.
