in pleasanton, alyssa goard, nbc, bay area news. the santa clara county sheriff's office is investigating a chase that ended in a crash. the sheriff's office says deputies in san jose tried to stop a gold lexus for speeding, but the driver took off, led deputies on a chase through east san jose, and it was during that chase, a deputy crashed into a toyota suv that happened near king road and commodore drive for people were inside the car. they were taken to the hospital. the deputy was hurt too, but we are told they are all expected to be okay. the sheriff's office says that 24 year-old driver behind the wheel of the lexus intentionally hit a patrol vehicle. deputies used spike strips to stop the car, but he didn't stop. he tried to run away. deputies caught up with him and arrested him. well, right now, southbound 680 is still closed, but caltrans says it will be back open in time for the morning commute. part of the road shut down friday, so crews could repair that road. this was happening between the five 8680 interchange to koop
