he told my colleague azadeh moshiri how the met police respond to an incident like this one. well, i'm very familiar with the area hainault. i was a sergeant there many years ago. it's a relatively quiet area. it's on the outskirts of london. it has relatively little crime and disorder. so this will come as a big shock to the local community. i think what the police will be doing once they've had those calls in at 7:00 in the morning, they would have been responding. you would have had multiple units responding to that. because of the sword that's been seen in the footage you may would have may well have aave's armed response vehicles attending as well. hainault is not that far from essex. so you may actually have essex police officers attending as well as metropolitan police officers — and i think the key thing there would have been the police officers would have been going to the seat of the danger and doing what they can to protect the public. and i think that's worth remembering — the police officers run towards danger when the rest of the public will run away from it
