police are on the scene in northeast philadelphia. police say two suspects wearing masks and gloves have been waiting for the homeowners on the 900 block of wakeling street early this morning. when the homeowners arrived at 12:45, the men forced them inside the home at gunpoint and the burglary alarm sounded. when police got there, one of the them opened the door and told police everything was fine. the suspect went back inside and told her to show police i.d. she said everything was okay, but nonverbally, she was able to signal that something was wrong. the officer went inside, the one suspect was trying to stop the other homeowner from leaving the home, that's when he saw the officer, he pointed the gun toward the officer's head and fired three shots and missed the officer. >> the officer himself fired from his gun multiple times and he did strike the male suspect. he was hit inside the foyer area and dropped to the ground. >> reporter: and back here live, where investigators remain on the scene here, the suspect was pronounced dead
