Batteries Not Included is a film that I put together early this year, after I made the film I did not know what to do with it because it is so much different than the Experimental art films that I am most known for doing. I decided to release this film on the internet and I thought the best place to do this would be right here on the Internet Archives. About the Film: Almost as long as I have been a filmmaker I have also been a film collector. I have for many years wanted to assemble a...

This is a rare animated ad for John F. Kennedy's presidential campaign in 1960. Kennedy would go on to win the presidential election against Richard Nixon (who later become president by the end of the decade) and serve a three year term before his assassination by Lee Harvey Oswald in 1964.

Another commercial break from GH (nearly a year prior to this) will be uploaded afterward. Some News 10 promos appear in this video showcasing WTEN's late-90s image - the 1994 "News 10" logo was still in use (and continued to be used well into the 2000s) but they had debuted Primetime News by Non-Stop Music, a theme they would use until 2007 (the cuts used here were the...

Quisp is a sugar-sweetened breakfast cereal from the Quaker Oats Company. It was introduced in 1965 and continued as a mass-market grocery item until the late 1970s. Sometime afterward, the company sold the item sporadcially, and upon the rise of the Internet began selling it primarily online. Quisp was initially marketed with a sister brand, Quake. Its joint-product television commercials were produced by Jay Ward, a major producer of animated television series.

Taken from back to back airings of Hart to Hart on WWOR-TV Channel 9, licensed to Secaucus, New Jersey and serving New York City. The station back then was branded as "Universal 9," in reference to then-owner MCA, which also owned Universal Studios (now owned by Comcast). The station was an independent at the time, eventually becoming the flagship for the UPN network in 1995, followed by program service MyNetworkTV in 2006. Currently the station is owned by MyNetworkTV's owners, the...

The second half of commercials from ABC Sports racing coverage, taken from WFTV (channel 9) in Orlando. Following sports was the 6pm news (where some of these commercials aired during) and ending the capture is World News Sunday (open at the end). For the 20th anniversary of 9/11 I have some content related to the event coming up next. Timestamps: (C) 1995 Cox Enterprises. All rights go to their respective owners, same for the advertisements. Taken from "Beverly Hills 90210" and "Party of Five" off of WXXA-TV, the Fox affiliate in Albany, NY. Interesting this is only my second tape find of WXXA content, but then again Fox's programming skews toward younger viewers, and most of these tapes I find at estate sales, obviously an older demographic. WXXA was owned at the time by Clear Channel Communications which was once a radio giant. They also owned WGY radio in Schenectady, and former WNYT general manager Don Perry...

Taken from an airing of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on WNYT News Channel 13, Albany, NY's NBC affiliate. Following SVU is part of WNYT's 11pm news which I will be uploading next. Law & Order SVU is currently TV's longest running primetime drama (though it has yet the reach the 635 episode count held by Gunsmoke); during this period it was in its 7th season. The NBC logo also has Olympic rings to symbolize the airing of the Torino Winter Games in 2006, appropriate for the upload...

Part of the 11pm news show off of CBS affiliate WRGB (channel 6) in Albany, NY, licensed to Schenectady. This was all I had of the news show, there is another partial 1989 WRGB newscast on here as well but was still a find nonetheless. The great Ernie Tetrault and Tracy Egan anchor the news, John Cessarich does weather and Mike Cairns does sports (filling in for Jim Brennan). I've pretty much discussed their whereabouts already but to recap: Tetrault retired in 1993, went to do car commercials...

Taken from Seinfeld reruns off of CW affiliate WCWN (channel 45, cable 15) in Albany, New York. The station at the time went by on-air as "The Capital Region's CW," but is now known as "CW 15." I do not have a specific date identified here, but it has to be before the end of October 2007 as evidenced by the Toyota advert (which has a disclaimer saying offer ends 10/31/07). The CW itself was 13 months old at the time and was a merger of two networks, The WB and UPN. Since The...

Taken from another LA Law episode, originally airing off of NBC affiliate WNYT (channel 13) in Albany, NY. Following the episode was the 11pm news as uploaded. Glad to finally unearth more of WNYT's 1988-1991 era, which is starting to grow on me. I think this was 13's biggest move yet and really helped them become the market's powerhouse the following decade. Also the ID theme used for the "News 13 Now" briefing would continue into the mid 90s, even after the logo changed. Timestamps:...

A little project from a few years ago. My partner and I put this together in a media production class at community college. It uses Richard Strauss' classical piece, "Also Sprach Zarathustra". That piece is, of course, famously used in Stanley Kubrick's 1968 feature 2001: A Space Odyssey (and in many other films, TV shows, trailers, commercials....). Hope you enjoy it, or at least don't hate it. Jason Fetterley :-)

Recorded during an airing of "Lost" on ABC affiliate WTEN, in Albany, NY. This video was actually recorded a day after HistoryBiography's hour and a half of news from WTEN ( https://youtu.be/3jfZsFknXT8 ) as well as a month before the near one-hour video on my channel ( https://youtu.be/SAOi1bFUopc ). Nothing much to say here, except in that HistoryBiography video Steve Caporizzo had the day off. Well, he returns in this video, forecasting one of the many hurricanes that hit the US in...
