business of selecting the next pope. the conclave. we'll talk to a senior adviser straight ahead. >> we want to begin with the lingering winter storm making a mess of the commute across the northeast this morning. al is outside on the snowy plaza. al, good morning to you. >> savannah, thank you so much. as you can see, it is snowing out here, to beat the band, take a look at the plaza, it's now becoming a little accumulation, slushy accumulation, on the sidewalks and the streets. laguardia airport, lot of delays. not a lot of cancellations, but a lot of delays as they're taking time to deice planes once they land and then they load up and go out on to the tarmac. again, there's not only a snow situation, but we also have a coastal flooding problem. let's go out to hull, massachusetts. that's where my colleague from the weather channel, mr. eric fisher is. eric, i know it's a mess out there. snowing, windy and you've got to deal with coastal flooding?

7:03 am
another sign that we are moving forward, the papal vestments have been moved to the vatican in three different sizes to fit whoever gets in the end two-thirds of the vote and becomes the pope. but we're told by a vatty can spokesman, a hint that it might be beginning early next week. the vatican spokesman joking it could be monday or tuesday, or wednesday, or thursday. we'll know soon, lester. >> thanks very much. greg burke is the vatican senior communications adviser. good morning to you. thanks so much for joining us. we saw some of the preparations under way right now. is there any logistical impediment for them starting say as soon as tomorrow if they wanted? >> no. if they wanted to they could start as soon as they wanted to, once they voted on it. however, not in terms of logistics, basically the plan has been give them a lot of time to talk now because once the actual conclave starts, that means the voting begins. so right now it's time for them
