how do we think about the first quarter relative to what has been going on with boeing? >> i think the first quarter isn't going to matter that much. they are a bit of an aberration. boeing is in the middle of these investigations from the faa and are putting together their plan for how they are going to stabilize production and improve quality going forward. we kind of knew it was going to be a light quarter. it was lighter than we expected. i think i was kind of hoping they could deliver more of the airplanes -- they have a number of airplanes in inventory already built. probably small modifications to get them to customers for the those drag financials, too. i think what really matters here is containment of cash burn during the quarter. we are going to look for them to come out of this quarter and give us a sense for what the plan is to improve production quality. at bloomberg intelligence we have them modeled for 38 a month rate on the 737 in 4q. we look for them to recover what they should have been out before the loss of the alaska airplane by the end of the year.

we turn now to a new whistleblower coming forward with claims against boeing. those claims involve the safety of one of the company's planes. the faa is now investigating. this morning, boeing is responding to claims made by a new whistleblower who says engineering issues with the company's 787 dreamliners could cause the planes to break apart after decades of use. sam salarpur claims parts of the fuselage are fastened together improperly. >> i'm doing this not because i want boeing to fail, but because i want i want it to succeed and prevent the crashes from happening. >> salarpur has not provided any documented evidence, and boeing has fired back, saying these claims about the structural integrity of the 787 are inaccurate. the issues raised have been subject to rigorous engineering examination under faa oversight. this analysis has validated that these issues do not present any safety concerns in the aircraft, will maintain its service life over several decades in 2021 and 2022, boeing slowed production and stopped delivering 787 because of these concerns. i

maria: i have to ask about boeing. this is a sad situation. one of the world's laster defense contractors, a gem for america for a long time, a whistleblower is claiming that the company took short cuts during the production of the 787 dream liner. boeing says the claim is absolutely inaccurate, that it's confident in the safety of the plane which of course the ceo is departing, testifying april 17th and we'll watch that testimony where he examines the plane mak maker's safety culture. the down this morning is down a fraction. how do you read boeing. >> it's the same thing we're seeing. safety culture, sure. is it a culture of substance, having the smartest people making sure they push things forward or is it focussed on virtue signaling that has nothing to do with the best technology. they become full bureaucrats and waste their time on nonsense. it's a scary thing. maria: it is a scary thing. you backed so many companies and founded so many important companies in o our infrastructue in this great country. tell us about the power of a.i. and
